  • Andrea Vaughn really sang well on this and I like the mouth organ lick at the beginning.

  • Outstanding I still remember Bottom of the Hill 8/15/04 I met this band. They sound just as good if not better live. Even after Michael Grace was shocked, he walks around barefoot on stage. Andrea Vaughn was very nice in person.

  • never thought of it but, my favorite, quite possible may be my favorite american band/discovery for that year as well. ...and still love it today!

    thx for posting it. =)

  • I almost forgot about them....yeppp, play it LOUD! great stuff !

  • This song has the Smiths but also The Cranberries in it, I think. Both bands rock, well this one a little louder .. so cool.

  • I miss this band so bad. So bad.

  • This is a very unique sound, and I love it.

  • Hmmm... reminds me of someone who was once special to me. Still is, I suppose. This came out when I was working at my college's radio station in Miami. I remember first hearing it when I was driving to our transmitter site in rural south Dade on one of those rare chilly afternoons and I called the studio immediately, frantically asking 'who is this amazing band you're playing??' The Secret History is also quite wonderful.

  • This is one I always come back to.

  • I miss Andreas sweet voice so much

  • As a matter of fact, losing Andrea Vaughn isn't too bad of a thing for "The Secret History:" Grace is the singer/songwriter of both bands, it's just the vocals that have changed, really, and in a number of ways The Secret History is better than My Favorite. The only problem I have with the group is the lack of Andrea Vaughn.

  • The members of My Favorite (minus Andrea Vaughn) formed The Secret History, and their debut album came out this week to strong reviews. Check out the video for their single 'Johnny Anorak' on youtube...

  • come back! music sucks and if you think you guys are getting to old to rock out not true im 17 and im a ninetys upsessed freak i luv you guys and i want your generations indie more in mine because i hate my generations music and indie its horrible

  • Saddening that My Favorite like so many great pass almost heart breakingly unnoticed. Wonderful performance!

  • I kept coming back so now I've bought the album!

  • AAAaggh so damn good.

  • really nice song!

  • damn this shit makes me happy. they just dont do it like this any more. n wtf so little views n last comment 1 month ago

  • great song- one of my all time faves- im 37 and it takes me backto '89-'92- good years...

  • Love this song!!

just recently came to my mind today...

    Don't know why.

  • Wow, I can't believe I missed these guys when they were together. Konstantine333 has it right..."haunts & inspires and rejuvenates my soul" is right on. The girl's lilting voice is the perfect overlay for this smoking band. One of the coolest songs I've heard in years. Great lyrics from Michael Grace.

  • Years later and this song is still quite possibly one of the best pop songs ever (in my mind).

  • This was a really great band, it haunts & inspires and rejuvenates my soul . Look up at the night sky and MY FAVORITE will always be there.....

  • Classic!

  • I saw these guys play live back in May, 1997 (with 11 other bands) at a two-night "pop" festival in Boston. I liked them immediately. (The song "Go Kid Go" blew me away.) I'm glad I went, else maybe I never would've heard of them. Too bad they didn't become bigger.

  • they were reccomended for me on my yahoo launchcast radio thing, and i'm glad they were. i love them! i wouldn't have heard of them, either... they weren't very well-known, were they?

  • They really sound good. I think Andrea's vocal style has alot of influence from the lead singer of the Sundays.

  • My Favorite was one of the greatest bands of the 90s, and their best work was done in the 2000s. While openly inviting the comparison, they were only hindered by the Smiths connection. This was a sound of kids who grew up in the 80s, and formed bands in the 90s lamenting the loss of the world the 70s promised. Michael Grace is a songwriter in league with Morrissey, Springsteen, and Cohen.

I submit this song vs. the best of each

This hit me far deeper than any Smiths song.

  • This is not only the finest song ever written, it's also the greatest work of art ever produced by humankind.

  • great great great!@!!!

  • At 5 1/2 minutes, this song is too short

  • Me too. This is certainly one of their best songs!

  • I really miss these guys.

  • such a good band the singer is a babe.

  • hmm this was them I saw in Hutsfred, great band!
