@2old2b1 If you have the PC to run it, the graphics are much better on PC and the controls are tighter since you have mouse aim instead of an iffy lock on system. But if you don't have an amazing PC rig don't bother because the game is horribly optimized and you'll probably have a worse time with it than just getting it for 360. Either platform, it is a great game.

If you had a quad core processor, you'd get FPS identical to mine. GTA IV does not support SLI, so technically the cards I'm running are about as powerful as a single 9800GTX. I do believe your dual core might bottleneck your GPU though, but I'm not sure. Oh and as for cubbies528, wtf dude?

It does not look like it's running too slow. It looks the same speed as the 360. The only thing that makes it look weird is the camera ( I'm guessing because the rotation is done with a mouse, not a joystick )

It is most likely that your graphics card on your laptop is the main reason. Laptop video cards are lower compared to desktop video cards (ex: 9800 for laptop is slower than the 9800 for the desktop)

im running this on medium all around and at 1280x720 and it still looks better than the xbox/ps3 versions... Plus it's smoother.

Integrated graphics is not going to be able to run the game. You are going to need a dedicated graphics card. There are plenty of places online to buy graphics cards, as well as other computer parts. I personally recommend newegg . com. As for the cost, it really depends on what kind of video card you are talking about.

My 9800 GTX+ can run the game pretty well but that card is old these days lol. For the price, I would recommend the GTX 260. It's $180 on Newegg and it is a very good card. However, if money is no issue, you can go for the GTX 295 which is $530 on Newegg. But even though you have a good GPU, your CPU and RAM must be taken into account as well. If you don't have a good CPU or RAM, then your system will be bottlenecked.

It is a very weak graphics card, I don't think it will run, if it does, it will be at a slow speed and slow settings, not very enjoyable.

Do you have a laptop or desktop? If you have a desktop, you can upgrade the graphics card and play these games well for about $100.

My brother's desktop also has a Core 2 Duo E4500 processor and 2gb of ram like you and he has an ATI Radeon HD4850 graphics card. You can get that now for a bit more than $100 and his system plays GTA4 better than the consoles, but not at maximum settings.

Beside the graphics card, you may need a new power supply to power the card. Can you find out your power supply?

The problem is that manufacturers like Dell sometimes use their own designs so its hard to upgrade that and other components.

You will need a better power supply if you upgrade the graphics card. That is a weak power supply.

But, I am not sure if you can do that in a Dell machine because they usually make it impossible or very hard to upgrade.

If you had a custom built computer, it would be a different story. You may have to get another PC or buy this game for a console. : /
