this is an amazing game and ive been trying to beet this boss for the last 2 days and i kinduv feel like shit for looking up help for it but its better than dying from him another 20 times
Every Time I tryed to kill him I got him to 10% of life.. then my adrenalin raises so much that I do one mistake.. and at the end of that... I´m screaming.. just.. a little bit ;)
ok heres how i beat him everytime works like a charm.
know those pillars? Yeah those are your best friend in this fight get like a pole like a halberd or mirdan hammer and upgrade it enough depending on ng or not. Then keep circling the pole when he does a move that takes him long to recover attack THROUGH the pole and youll hit without getting close to him
and there you have it i do about 200 damage per hit.
this guy is very easy if you use thief ring + fragrant ring with soul arrow or soul ray, just avoid his attacks and stay away from him behind some pilar or those bones scattered around the place, then shot the magic, avoid, run away, cure yourself and repeat the process; he will not aware of you because the thief ring :D
He ended up fucking up his pathfinding in my game and I ended up killing him by poking him through the wall with a winged spear for 35 damage. It was....not fun.
he is very easy if you wait to take him on till you have had some time to make a special build like dex heavy or magic heavy. just save him for later and you will be fine.
I'm on my second playthrough - damn, love this game - but this boss keeps killing me over and over again now. It sure is more difficult the second time :x

@wolfang17 without magic or arrows it definitely is the hardest boss to kill on your own. he's a sneaky bitch in terms of melee attacks. he'll attack you then do that thing where he jumps back three times. if you sprint after him your stamina is spent by the time he stops jumping backwards. oh and if you get to close to him you take fire damage. yup pretty much a big fuck to anyone using a melee only class.
Don't make the mistake I just made. I hit roll back 1 too many times and ended up on the bridge/stairs with him in low health. He cornered me and took me out. Keep him in the wide open areas @ low Health.

@koolgool There is. Get a heater shield and water veil. Also the ring of flame resistance helps. Get the blessed mace from 3-1 or any magic weapon I suppose. Heater shield block all the fire damage if you block in time. You also need to be able to roll.
Could I use Sticky White stuff instead of the blessed mace? I'm not sure where to get it. It seems like that should work, but Sticky White Stuff is just so rare/hard to obtain early on.
@koolgool Yeah, sticky white stuff will work. You can find lots of it in the second archstone of Shrine of Storms, just kill the slugs. 2 can also be found at the beginning of Stonefeng Tunnel where the two guys are throwing rocks (where the rocks hit).
as soon as u walk in theres some bones to the right walk behind them and 9 times out ten he cant get behind them and if he does he only jumps back out and go on the other side of them then he cant hit u then just use ranged attacks and hes easy

I found something really easy... run onto the bridge and hug a side. If he is still at the start of the bridge and you're halfway up, there are little rocks that'll hold him back. Just spam soul arrow a little bit, he'll jump to the side, you go to that side and another rock blocks him. Eventually he'll find a path up to you, but you can dodge again and get range, then rinse and repeat when you can, if you have to.
thief ring is essential. just use soul arrow on him long distance the WHOLE time. he won't know what hit him. i lured him into the area with the HUGE rib cage and somehow, he got trapped.

Yes, you need to raise stats by talking to the Maiden in Black to be able to wield certain things without having degraded efficiency. Also, two-handing is a way to kinda side-step the strength leveling required for some weapons. If your present strength stat multiplied by 1.5 is equal-to-or-greater-than the stat required for the object, you can wield it.
@HaloAddict956 There is a guy in The Nexus who sells spells, one of them is Soul Arrow. Also make sure you have a catalyst equipped in your left hand or you won't be able to use it.
PURPLE FLAME SHIELD > LAMELOLLER Good fight though in all seriousness. First time, when he starts breaking through, then jumps onto the ceiling, I remember thinking "Oh shit... Ohhhh shit..."
I beat this one on the first try, because I ran like a coward, used some soul arrows and blocked some of his attacks with my shield. Of course, I had to eat a ton of healing grass as well. :)
Pure mage build, SL 30 - 40, Ring of Magical Sharpness, +30% Magic Attack sword (Cant remember the name), Water Veil and Soul Arrows. Takes around 10 hits or less to kill him :D
@FreyBentosPie no, you dont. I was summoned to beat the Tower Knight, we kicked his ass, I got no trophy. Went back to my world with the knowledge of dodging his moves properly, kicked his ass, THEN I got the trophy. I think if you summon someone into your world, then you can get it, but you have to beat the boss inside your own world.
You only need a few things for this boss: the ability to roll properly (either get a higher Equip Burden or wear lighter armor), the Crescent Falchion, and Soul Arrow if you really want it. his attacks are rather predictable, and what makes this boss laughably easy is if you have a Blue Phantom with you. He doesn't know who to attack, and his HP gets drained so fast he barely has time to realize you're there.
Use Thiefs Ring. Hide behind pillars and when he chases you - keep a pillar bewteen you and him . When he loses track of you - attack him - then hide behind pillar. Repeat.
man i thought the flamelurker was the hardest. if they make a demon souls 2 i hope they put the ability to sell items for souls and put more bosses and make em even harder
Go right of the stairs he'll be stuck but sometimes he jumps around and gets free just keep on doing this with lots of either heavy or holy arrows . I did and worked like a charm if want help my psID is : KILL_ZON
I did it the coward way. Somehow after 3 Full Moon Grasses and lots of rolling, I got him stuck behind the spine. Then I used Poison Cloud all the way. Slow, but effective.
@snakept69 You can't really effectively predict/ dodge/ manipulate the weakness of the one boss one would need a guide for: False King Allant. So, I would like to suggest a hard-to-screw-up method: Equip the thief's ring, your best equipment you can roll quickly in, your longest-range bow, and 400 Rotten arrows. When you enter the hall, don't move an inch and equip the bow. Keep firing until the poison sets in, and continue when it wears off. Repeat until dead.
Ofc you can predict. Demons souls is all about learning. Bosses can kill you in 2/3 hits. The idea is:
get hit once, learn and dodge the second hit. Getting hit by the same move more than 3 times means your not learning. Sure sometimes you just can't dodge, but those aren't fatal.
The game isn't hard if you know the bosses and how to play it. I've cleared the game with a royalty lvl 1 all the way through, (no lvling) and i heard people that cleared new game + with a lvl 1 char.
@snakept69 im sory to say this but i believe you may be mistaken. the only way to have a level 1 character is to use a soul sucking method on yourself, which can take a long time to finish and leave you weak to survie the fight. the people you met may have just not leveled their character past their base stats. its possible, but not entirely plausable.
Soulsuck does not delevel you below the base stats of your char. For example a barbarian can never be bellow soullvl 15.
Royalty on the other side, starts at soullvl 1 and is the class used for these challenges. There are videos on youtube showing one of the final bosses and the nexus opening with a soullvl 1 character. Even if he didnt clear the entire game he clear old king with a lvl 1 character.
And old king being one of the hardest bosses i'de say its plausible.
@snakept69 true, but that would leave them unable to use anything better than the weakest of the heavy and somewhat good of the light weapons. people who do this would take more htan half an hour to kill even the weakest bosses without leveling up. a person could spend months trying to finish the combotion of stone collection, spell obtainment, armor boosting, and soul collection. not to mention the insane amount of times they would meet a untimely demise.
There are a lot of good weapons that do good dmg with no relation to stats (dragon weapons are perfect example). Even a lvl 1 char does the same dmg that a lvl 600 char with a dragon weapon.
If the same move hits you 2~3 times in a fight your doing something wrong. SO just first learn to survive the boss, then when you feel like you are getting the timing of his moves look for his weakness.

When someone needs you they call for you, they don't say turn 80º right and move your left foot followed by the right foot. Figure that shit yourself.
killing him is very easy, i have beaten his sorry ass many many times. you need these to make the fight easier: purple flame shield (upgraded one would make it easier), a sword (dragon sword doesnt work very well, so a long sword or something else) and a magic weapon spell. this spell increase damage greatly. also try to hide behind pillars when you are eating stuff. and above all, wear thief ring, helps a lot.
Killing Flamelurker with magic is simple. My mage kill it really fast. But if You want to use Weapon, then chose magic type, or enchant it. Light arrmor is the best. Rolling is very important. He is just look scary. Do Your best to kill him.
@RRRadish its not impossible ive beaten him many times melee only even on ng5+ with a level 80 knight. the trick is to learn his grunts, those give away which attacks he will use next. all you need to do is learn the pattern at which you need to roll, sometimes into him and sometimes counterclockwise. should be easy with a little practice
@TalonMercenary I almost got him by running aeound him naked and slashing with my Crescent Falchion +2. Died when he was exactly one attack away from dying. -_-'
Fuck, I beat his ass to death with my bastard sword(which actually almost didn't work like six times, close calls, you know), then my DBS+5 in NG+ and NG++, no other way seems manly.

if you've learnd the spell you want to use and cant use then get a wooden catalyst or silver catalyst. make sure you dont get the mircles and spells mixed up. and you need mana to so get that up if its low
you need a wooden or silver catalyst (a wand basically) to cast magic. and enough MP. to cast a spell have the "wand" in a slot select it and "attack" with it. the spell should cast. if it doesnt work chances are you dont have enough MP, if this is the case talk to the maiden in black and upgrade your intelligence i believe (could be wrong, better check)
If you want the best advice then here it is 1)don't get cornered or your screwed.
2)best weapon to use is a magical weapon/sticky white stuff.

I did it the coward way. Somehow after 3 Full Moon Grasses and lots of rolling, I got him stuck behind the spine. Then I used Poison Cloud all the way. Slow, but effective.

Here is the Demon's Soul's all bosses guide.
1st - Play safely dodge and learn the enemy moves.
2nd - After seeing a move think of the best way to dodge it. (Rolling to the back of the adjudicator)
3rd - After learning how to dodge try to predict what the enemy will do.
4th - Find their weakness.
5th - Make the enemy use easy to dodge abilities (stand near the foot of the tower knight) dodge and go for the weakness.
If you follow these 5 rules you will be able to beat any boss in the game.

@snakept69 You can't really effectively predict/ dodge/ manipulate the weakness of the one boss one would need a guide for: False King Allant. So, I would like to suggest a hard-to-screw-up method: Equip the thief's ring, your best equipment you can roll quickly in, your longest-range bow, and 400 Rotten arrows. When you enter the hall, don't move an inch and equip the bow. Keep firing until the poison sets in, and continue when it wears off. Repeat until dead.

Ofc you can predict. Demons souls is all about learning. Bosses can kill you in 2/3 hits. The idea is:
get hit once, learn and dodge the second hit. Getting hit by the same move more than 3 times means your not learning. Sure sometimes you just can't dodge, but those aren't fatal.
The game isn't hard if you know the bosses and how to play it. I've cleared the game with a royalty lvl 1 all the way through, (no lvling) and i heard people that cleared new game + with a lvl 1 char.

@snakept69 im sory to say this but i believe you may be mistaken. the only way to have a level 1 character is to use a soul sucking method on yourself, which can take a long time to finish and leave you weak to survie the fight. the people you met may have just not leveled their character past their base stats. its possible, but not entirely plausable.

Soulsuck does not delevel you below the base stats of your char. For example a barbarian can never be bellow soullvl 15.
Royalty on the other side, starts at soullvl 1 and is the class used for these challenges. There are videos on youtube showing one of the final bosses and the nexus opening with a soullvl 1 character. Even if he didnt clear the entire game he clear old king with a lvl 1 character.
And old king being one of the hardest bosses i'de say its plausible.

@snakept69 true, but that would leave them unable to use anything better than the weakest of the heavy and somewhat good of the light weapons. people who do this would take more htan half an hour to kill even the weakest bosses without leveling up. a person could spend months trying to finish the combotion of stone collection, spell obtainment, armor boosting, and soul collection. not to mention the insane amount of times they would meet a untimely demise.

Never said it was easy.
There are a lot of good weapons that do good dmg with no relation to stats (dragon weapons are perfect example). Even a lvl 1 char does the same dmg that a lvl 600 char with a dragon weapon.

Basically yes.
Its not that simple but thats the idea.
If the same move hits you 2~3 times in a fight your doing something wrong. SO just first learn to survive the boss, then when you feel like you are getting the timing of his moves look for his weakness.

killing him is very easy, i have beaten his sorry ass many many times. you need these to make the fight easier: purple flame shield (upgraded one would make it easier), a sword (dragon sword doesnt work very well, so a long sword or something else) and a magic weapon spell. this spell increase damage greatly. also try to hide behind pillars when you are eating stuff. and above all, wear thief ring, helps a lot.

Killing Flamelurker with magic is simple. My mage kill it really fast. But if You want to use Weapon, then chose magic type, or enchant it. Light arrmor is the best. Rolling is very important. He is just look scary. Do Your best to kill him.

@RRRadish its not impossible ive beaten him many times melee only even on ng5+ with a level 80 knight. the trick is to learn his grunts, those give away which attacks he will use next. all you need to do is learn the pattern at which you need to roll, sometimes into him and sometimes counterclockwise. should be easy with a little practice

if you've learnd the spell you want to use and cant use then get a wooden catalyst or silver catalyst. make sure you dont get the mircles and spells mixed up. and you need mana to so get that up if its low

you need a wooden or silver catalyst (a wand basically) to cast magic. and enough MP. to cast a spell have the "wand" in a slot select it and "attack" with it. the spell should cast. if it doesnt work chances are you dont have enough MP, if this is the case talk to the maiden in black and upgrade your intelligence i believe (could be wrong, better check)
