....keep electing liberal gov members and you'll eventually have higher taxes FOR EVERYONE (not just the wealthy). Chicago/Cook county can't control spending and therefore they have to tax everyone in some form or another to get more money. You bash TEA party members until you find out that you can't afford the cost of living in an area because of taxes. *sigh*I haven't visited Chi town in years....$40 parking, $11 cigarettes, $200 hotels, can't forget the soda tax!....yup way to go Democrats.
@AmsterdamFire321 Not bashing Tea Party at all, Amsterdam. Just exposing the fact that Claypool took a decidedly different tone in his campaign in 2010. This speech was a big surprise coming from someone who was as much an insider as anyone in the Chicago machine. His speech was significant because it showed the Tea Party is making an impact on American political discourse, even in Chicago.
Would someone that advocates for health care reform, gay marriage, gun regulations, public services, and who has spent their entire lives as a progressive be a member of the tea party? Hahaha looks like you guys are getting desperate.
As if wanting lower taxes for the middle class and end corruption means you are "tea party". Come on Berrios clan... That shows how out of touch you are with the citizenry.
A rebellion against corruption and high taxes? Thanks to Berrios, giving an average 18% tax break to campaign contributing corporations and only 2% to homeowners, yea our taxes are too high, and yes, that is corrupt.
90% of Joe Berrios' tax cuts went to campaign contributors. That's $4 billion in cuts that led to $4 billion in higher taxes for the rest of the county. That means average taxpayers, rich or poor. Thank you for posting an advertisement for Claypool.
