One of the most brutal TV matches you'll see! This makes UFC look like a tea party. Why, I can't believe how well Tully's right hand was landing on tthe chief. He put him flat on his back twice with one punch.
This match would get booed nonstop in todays wrestling. I miss the old days when it wasn't an acrobatic contest and you could see moves and holds. Wahoo and Jay Strongbow inspired me to become a pro wrestler and it was some of the best years of my life.
why did they always Wahoo's last name as McDaniels? its McDaniel.....and every one agrees that along with Harley Race, Wahoo was a legit bad ass tough man
before the 10 count was quicker. i think better. now its one.. wait a minute... two.. twiddles fingers.. three.. oh nooo a chairrr.. recount again..one...one thousand mississippi..two...ehhhh...twooo
Wahoo was from Midland and went to school in Oklahoma, those are not sound effects that is tape delay listen to whole tape everything is about 1.5 secs behind the action, amd the announcer had to stand on the apron cause this was filmed in tv studio and there was no room infact he was limited where he could go by how long the mic cord was...you guys are so critical
Its interesting to note that Tully's dad Joe Blanchard was the promoter for Southwest. What really made it interesting was the fact that while most wrestlers who worked for their dads were babyfaces, Tully was an uber heel.
I heard the commentator. "Hip LOCK?" What's next? "Oh no, the neckbreaker!" NO! It's called the PILEDRIVER! Who knows WHAT KIND of maneuvers today's young(er) generation are being taught.
so who won? That was one thing I hated about wrestling in the old days- they'd end matches on TV when the show ended and never tell you who won the match.
i recently found out that wahoo is my great great uncle..

Why would a ever commentator decide to do his match commentary from the ring apron? My guess was that the guy was to fat to get down without help.

I just hope that tully or wahoo didn't do a reverse irish whip into the announcer who inside the ring.

Not the first time it was done though, Randy Savage worked for his dad, Angelo Poffo, as a heel way back in the 70's.

Yeah, that is true. I forgot all about that.

Actually, Joe Blanchard at first tried to book Tully as his top babyface for a couple years, but he was eventually forced to turn Tully heel.

Later Tully and Wahoo would team up in Mid-Atlantic

1:30. Hip Toss. I repeat, HIP Toss. A long forgotten move that has been replaced by the crappy arm toss everybody does nowadays.
