Coverdale and Hughes 3 Albums with Deep Purple are by far my favorite ones.I loved the direction Blackmore went for a few years with these talented musicians around him.
Glenn Hughes...I have been a fan since I bought Trapeze's LPs, Medusa and We are the Music in the early seventies....Pure greatness with a great band...
Got this album (in a trade for one of my sister's albums, Olivia Newton John I think-and in retrospect the girl can sing) the summer going into my junior year....listened to it over, and over....still love to hear the songs...
@MichaelHansenFUN Well, i don't hear any David Coverdale's voice on this, even the double tracked parts are all by Glenn Hughes. No backing vocals as far as i can hear.
@MichaelHansenFUN This is what is written on the vinyl back cover: All vocals are sung by DAVID COVERDALE and GLENN HUGHES except "HOLY MAN" which is sung by GLENN HUGHES and "SOLDIER OF FORTUNE" which is sung by DAVID COVERDALE.
@Janne19691 why doesnt he sing 'high'? isnt he supposed to be a robert plant wannabe? I had this album as a kid now I dont anymore. I want my vinyl pressing back. a used record store dont have it.
I used to think that, but now listening again after almost thirty years, I have a different perspective, some good songs and fine musicianship. And it does bring back memories, I used to listen to it from a cassette release, it was actually my sister's...
I heard the solo as an extract played in an internet radio and it took me a while to think what it was. It kept bugging me the whole afternoon. I'm glad I finally remembered, I would not be able to go to sleep otherwise...
@dudefromutopia You're right in saying this sounds like the Eagles, but I don't see what would be wrong with them? I mean, I loved the Eagles as well. It was just the music that was much different between these two bands, that's all. :-)

Awesome. Different to earlier (Gillan) Purple but you can think e.g. Picasso -his also had different period but all of them were awesome.

Obviously the singer is not Guillian, the bassist was not Glover in this album, so many fans didn' t dig stormbringer, but c'mon it's deep purple
