i've been going to Oakwood for 10 years since i was 2 and nothing has ever been wrong with the theme park i love it, the rollercoasters have been smooth, unlike some people who says the rollercoasters are un-smooth when they haven't even been on them. Anyway the whole point of Oakwood is to have fun and enjoy not to comment on the wood or steel of the coasters or like the queue to go on the rides. Enjoy Oakwood i did :)
i went to Oakwood In 2005 when i was 10 I went on Treetops Brear rabbit ride plane crazy and the toboggan (I got stuck.) =) so funny had a good day though.
People who say this is the best theme park ever, it isn't. It's ok, a nice novelty but please...I've been to Europa Park and two Disney parks. This place is not good for the money at all! Take it from someone who went with friends on several school trips here -only went cause it was half price-. It's not value for money, save your money and go to somewhere like Drayton Manor or out of the UK theme parks even...
I live 20 minitues away from drayton, £21 and its the same size park as Oakwood, Yeah it has a few newer coaster types but i prefer Oakwood, and it most certianly IS value for money!
No it isn't. I've travelled, this place is a RIP OFF for a whole..2 or 3 rollercoasters. I'd rather fork out the cash to go to Disney where I know I've spent my money well. This place is staffed by incompetent idiots, and it was run (cause it's now owned by europeans) by a family who couldn't even settle their own personal differances.
This theme park is dull, it loses the novelty after about 3 hours and trust me, when you've been outside of the UK, this place is pathetic.
2 ) Ive travelled most the world to ride coasters, ect.
Yes the themeing at oakwood is dull, but theplace dosent make that much, due to the cheepenss of the tickets, compare most theme parks to this this is REALLY good value, yes they dont have loads of massive rides but its family orienated and has my favourite euro-fighter ive ridden out of the 3.
1) really? That's why it has rides like Terror Tower and Aerosmith :) Oh sure, tell that to the over 30's who go.
2) So?
Family orientated? Are you kidding me?! Disney > Oakwood, it has variety, it's more for families and it's far far better overall in quality. I guess I can't convince the deluded :D
It's actually also known as Terror Tower :) so don't correct me, thank you. Having been to Florida 5 times, I think I know.
It's superior to Bounce as is Doctor's Doom Freefall.
un-smooth? You've got to be kidding me, right? Every ride in Oakwood is as unsmooth as you can get. I'm sorry but, the Macnamara family can't run a themepark for toffee. But I suppose people who don't like to travel or take off their rose glasses will refuse to see that cause it's pwecious :) ah well.
i live 15 miles from oakwood and ive been there atleast 2 times a year. Its a brilliant park. Its just celebrated its 20th birthday and good its changed over the years
I am a theme park enthusiast from Wales myself and I must say, Oakwood clearly beats Alton Towers and other UK theme parks by far. It is cleaner, friendlier, and the rides are BETTER! Oakwood will always be my favourite park.
I am sorry, but it really doesn't beat Alton Towers. Oakwood is a good park, with some good rides - but aside from Megafobia there is nothing truly world class. At Alton Towers you have the likes of Nemesis, Oblivion, Air and Rita - not to mention better family rides like Spinball Whizzer, Runaway Mine Train, Hex, Duel... the list goes on. Oakwood is good, but I think saying it's better than Alton Towers is like saying a Mercedes isn't a nicer car than a Renault Megane.
Oakwood is a popular name for cemeteries in America.

1) i think you'll find its tower of terror, and take a look at that , its a giant frog hopper.
Also, I'ld much rather wait 5 minitues to ride speed then wait a coupple of hours to ride a really un-smooth hunk of junk in the dark.
