Panting can be a sign of anxiety, so... Just because their mouth is open doesn't mean that a dog should be approached. I liked the part about not teasing a tied dog. You should only tease untied dogs!
2:01 really cuz most dogs have patience on children i have a rotwieller wich was 1 year old but we had to give it up bcz it had cancer but it never hurt any one
@Leanneldok21 It has many meanings, you would have to see ALL of the dog's body language, not just it's face. It can be a CALMING behavior, like it's trying to show calming signals to another dog, or even try to relax itself, but it does not mean the dog IS relaxed.
Often submissive dogs will licks their lips when greeting to show that it is submissive and will do no harm, so once again,it's kind of like a calming signal.
Dogs don't like hugs and kisses? Not forced, no; nor from shrieking unpredictable littl'uns. But when my wife and I have a stand-up 'snog-hug', our 12yo Patterdale runs in, clambers up, 'talking' and tail-wagging to insist he be included. Human-socialised dogs dislike being ignored, and Pip loves to join a 'group hug'. I've lived my 58 years enriched by many dogs, always give them their space, and appreciate some are standoffish, others hugaphile softies - like us, they are individuals.
Dogs like hugs and kisses when they want to. My dogs use to come and lick my mouth or put their legs on me it means they are kissing or hugging me. Sometimes I am on my bed and my dog jump on my chest like saying hug me. You always learn something new everyday.
Umm if s dog Is In a not good state if mind, training should be done. Do not just leave ut alone, have a experienced trainer help. Watch Cesar millan for tips and learn from him!
@psychojoker131 No, do NOT watch cesar milan. His methods are cruel, deceptive, and he 'breaks' dogs rather than trains them. Do a little research. He's been seen choking dogs, and dragging them about by the lead. He's a terrible 'role model'.
@MeetMyGiant I have to agree. Every dog with a neutral expression (relaxed ears that are neither up nor down, closed mouth, etc.) is shown as being "worried." I have a zillion photos of my dog with a closed mouth and relaxed ears and I don't think she's worried in the vast majority of them. I'm not sure the dogs in these photos are either.
I think that might be true, but most dogs get worried from lack of attention.. But that might be good advice for kids. What you didn't say was that you should never show a dog you are afraid. I learned that when I was little after my little brother got bit by a dog. No dog has messed with either of us since.
yea i noticed a dog chased me when i ran away from it.. but when i stood there and looked in control. he'd run away. psychology of dogs is really a bit backwards.

u avoid goin near a dog only when hes angry nt when hes yawning ! infact an owner can go near dog anyway but in different way if he/shes angry !
RIZWANshaikh91 6 months ago
yes yawn can b natural as well indicating that he/shes tired , in any case it doesnt mean u dont go near him/her !
RIZWANshaikh91 6 months ago
many things are right but where ur misleading ppl is !
yawn and lickin lips along with few other signals = meaning its ok or to calm an angry dog r human ! or sometimes used as greeting !
RIZWANshaikh91 6 months ago
Wait i thought licking lips and yawning was a sign of calmness? Thats what a expert told me.

Please don't use this video as a tool to understand dogs.

lies, those little signs all depend on how the dog was treated and trained as a puppy, and it may vary between different varieties of dogs...

Kibble, that's not "backwards" at all. It's basic predatory behavior. Prey runs, predator gives chase.
