The latest update on what’s going on to Superman: The Escape at the LA Times has the park deny the Bizarro rumors, and promises that Superman will return to the top of the tower and the Fortress of Solitude ice cave themed entrance will also return.

@GreenCardProductions Technically, Superman in its original form was the first "Stratacoaster" but that's all a technicality. Hopefully this will be a great move for this park.

The ride appears that it will be closed for quite some time, perhaps into next year by several months. Wondering if part of the reason could be ride system troubles or even structural integrity problems?

@Redsquad1000 More reports are now that it is in fact going to have one side turned around and launched in reverse. Still not confirmed yet.

@vonni2818 This is Six Flags we are talking about. A company that recently came out of Bankruptcy. I wouldn't look for them to build a coaster of that nature for awhile until they start turning more of a profit. But then again, who knows exactly what they have up their sleeves :)

@tyoelin Good points there. That also appears to be a likely option. However, also keep in mind, that many of the top executives at Six Flags were recently fired as well, so they may have access to more money as well to work with.

Does anyone know if it's possible to connect both tracks so that the coaster can come down face first like king daka or top thrill drogster? I really want that to happen lol but the tracks r to close to each other.. Not keeping my hopes up...... Just a lil....

i think they are going to do so mods so they can fire at 100% again because if you dont know for the past years they havnt been, hell i will put out high hopes and say they are exteding the track and making it faster than king da ka

@kevinegen Yes it has been a troubled ride for quite some time, in fact from the very beginning. The first time they "fired it up" the train only went about 5 ft lol. Even if they were to break Kingda Ka's Record, it's only going to be beat again in October when they open that Ferrari themed Rocket Coaster at Ferrari World. Top speed of that coaster will be around 150 mph.

@rebelrecycler It's been a troubled ride in it's reliablity from the start. I'm hoping that maybe the idea of Superman Vs Bizzaro with Intamin's newer track design/rocket coaster concept. Now that would be great!

@famouswolfy It's funny because in October, the speed record for a roller coaster will once again be broken as Ferrari World will be debuting their new Intamin Rocket Coaster that will reach near 150 mph
