Wonderful, I am just venturing in this world can you please refer me any books or articles where I can learn the righ techniques and what not. I believe the key ingredient to be practice, it might take me a whole day to attempt what you did but maybe after 100 "whole days" I can do a 15 minute sketch aswell.
i love perspective drawing.. yeah i was actually wandering what the building was lol.. cause I usually start with the inside when Idesign a building.. I should definitely try sketching whatever comes to my mind... something new wud be good for me.. and thanks a lot for ur video!
@fight4gipper1 no need to feel sorry, it's actually the other way around to be honest. in an ideal world, we learn from each other - through both our successes and mistakes - and strive to uplift the standards of our skills and talents. unfortunately, we're living in the real world. haters are there to remind us on how much we have already achieved. :)
@fight4gipper1 yes, you may visit my website at wix.com/lestudioderaison/architects to see some of my selected works/projects and highlights of my career in Architecture. Thanks!

Very nice. . . A skill like this is priceless. In front of a client sometimes you need to produce something like this. . . Sometimes an architect needs more than Sketchup skills. . .
I am really interested in architecture and I want to become an architect someday. I am currently majoring in civil engineering. I would like to know what the path of an architect is like. Did you take a lot of art classes? What do you find difficult , enjoyable, etc..?
I like the pic man. I also like your choice of Music, it goes with the speed of your drawing. Good job on the work and keep it up. I hope to get this far in my drawing one of these days.
Why is anyone saying negative comments about this. It would take me over an hour to achieve half the 'amazingness' of this sketch, which he accomplished in 15 minutes. Amazing. Truly.
@SorryWTFAreYouSaying Thanks for the comment. I really appreciate it. Negative comments are, sadly, part of life since many people are affected by the things that one does - whether good or bad.
HA, i was just speed sketching with a simple average pen and did a monk, luke skywalker, and a guy with a gas mask(sort of like killzone), yoda in about 20min.
@icynezz this type of drawing doesn't exactly have to show the exact construction of the building or it's structure with max details. it's important to present the main concept of it, it's feeling, character.
@rspots why are you getting so offended.. ? its my opinion. i can write what i want. just because its a sketch doesnt mean it cant be structural.. -_-
Yes, very nice. I wish I could draw like that. I'd bring the drawings to work, and set them on my desk and anyone who was leaving the company would reccommend me for an illustrator's job, should anything happen to my job. Just a thot.
@moonera51 yes, same experience when I was starting out. i learned that sketching is all about being "loose" and "thinking with your hand" - not worrying about erasures, errors, or extended lines... what you need to concentrate on are: scale, proportion, and composition.
great even drawing. I noticed you using the grey marker over top of your black ink pen. Doesn't that wreck your grey marker...getting black ink all over the felt on the grey. I usually photocopy the sketch and then use marker.
@CanadaGuy80 Hi! The grey marker you're referring to is actually a black pentel pen (the third and last pen i used for the shadows and darkest areas). The previous pen marks were dried enough for me to use the next pens without wrecking its tips. Also, the paper I use is non-glossy, so, no worries about getting smudges et. al on the pen tips. I also like the idea of photocopying the sketch... although I use it when I do watercolor on paper after a pencil/pen sketch :)
@dreicuns salamat. eto un... ung 2pt perspective na 1pt lng. if u notice sa video only 1pt lng (sa may left side ng building) ung makikita mo sa paper... ung isang pt sa right side - estimate lng... kaya halos parang elevation ang effect

@Chippychops7 Thanks for checking out my works. I agree, it is important to set your goals and find the right motivation so you will be focused at achieving your career.
Yes I am familiar using Autodesk CAD, VIZ / 3D Max, and Sketch-Up in some of my designs before. I usually use these programs for detailing and finalizing my initial conceptual designs (i.e. my freehand sketches).
@mnr8788 just continue practicing. there are different techniques for the shading, like cross-hatching. the important thing is, you need to control the pen pressure in shading because you want to have a gradual pattern rather than a flat one. also, take note on where the source of light is located in your drawing so that you know which sides you need to shade.
@adstr123, thanks so much! :)) the first pen was a regular sign pen: Pilot Hi-Tecpoint V5, almost available in every school supplies store. it doesn't say what thickness it is but my estimate is it's comparable to a 0.2 to 0.3 technical pen.
hi! thanks! really appreciate ur comment... what do u like? maybe if i have time, i'll try to squeeze in ur request in my next sketch... (hope its an architectural structure hehe)

Wow that's awesome! :D How thick was the first pen you used?

@adstr123, thanks so much! :)) the first pen was a regular sign pen: Pilot Hi-Tecpoint V5, almost available in every school supplies store. it doesn't say what thickness it is but my estimate is it's comparable to a 0.2 to 0.3 technical pen.
