  • As I can see he loves you very much

  • I had a parakeet who enjoyed the ceiling fan quite a bit. It was the lazy bird's way to fly in his opinion.

  • omg did leo die????

  • The bird is like weeeeeeeeeeee

  • hermosoooooo

  • @Kipp The Kidd It is obvious to anyone that you had a veryy rare and special relationship with Leo. He obviously loved you a great deal. Please pay no attention to the people who make negative postings Leo was having a total blast playing on the ceiling fan as anyone with 2 eyes can see. The people that are making negative comments are jealous of your obviously very special relationship with Leo. Once again F$%# the negative people your bird LOVED you with all his little heart.

  • @ericjkent oh please, I'm really jealous! LOL. I love my sun conure, and wouldn't trade him for the world. I've had mine for only 6 months, and he does lots of tricks and hilarous stuff. Why would I be jealous, when I have the best sun conure in the world??? IDIOT!

  • @zegersious You are a really stupid POS aren't you? I was not even posting about you in particular. But hey man if the shoe fits put it on and wear you IDIOT.

  • We used to rehabilitate wild birds in addition to owning our own parrots. Blue jays in particular loved ceiling fans, and would purposefully hop from blade to blade to make it spin for fun. As you can imagine, you should never operate ceiling fans while you own birds.

  • If I was a bed I'd wanna be ur bird

  • If I was a bird I

  • @xx2n23 Don't be an idiot. Take a little more time with his vids, I know Leo well and it's clear that he had a good life.

  • @KippTheKidd Keep telling yourself that, and MAYBE you'll believe it someday. But you'll never convince me. A sun conure that was well taken care of by a 'responsible' owner would live a LOT longer than your Leo. All he had to do is 'just once' fly between those blades, and it could've very easily broken his neck. To be so reckless with such a beautiful animal is criminal IMO.

  • @zegersious A bird could crash into any fan. Leo didnt die due to a fan. He was just 'dead' one morning. Shit happens, and your bird just might die while you sleep. Leo was clearly having fun. When a bird doesnt like something, theyll let you know. They aren't stupid enough to go fly into a fast moving object. He doesnt know what happened to Leo, he might have been sick or something, or had some disorder and quietly died. You werent there. You dont know what happened.

  • @Kashlikaro ur as ignorant as ur post. If a bird wasn't "stupid" enough 2 fly into a fan, then it wouldnt be stupid enough 2 fly into mirrors. Not that Im sugg. theyre stupid. I never suggested Leo died from a fan. But any1 who refers 2 a pet dying as "shit happens" clearly cant understand the bond. Maybe he did die of genetics or just sudden death. That's not my point, my point is putting ur pet into dangerous situations for pure amusement IS stupid. Ive raised birds for 24yrs, I know them.

  • @zegersious By shit happens, I mean something completely out of your control. And it just happens. There's a difference between a mirror and fan. A fan is a fast moving object and a mirror is a reflected surface that could be mistaken for an opening if one does not know what a mirror is. I understand bonds between owners and pets. I love my bird very much, he's my first and best friend, we kinda grew up together. Kip wasnt putting his bird in a situation, the bird decided to go onto the fan.

  • @zegersious Hey.. Look, he died already, does it MATTER HOW HE DIED? he died. accept it. its not your pet. thats like....someone telling ur parent; ur child is so fuckign retarded, why didnt u take better care of him/her. o________o . Just . Damn.. go take care of ur own birds if u care about their safety so much..

  • cayoot

  • I wish I was a bird

  • from what i see your bird is having a horrible time. when your spinning him he keeps trying to climb onto your finger then you spin him as he desperately tries to hold on

  • @Fubizz12345 It he doesn't like it, he'd fly to my shoulder or his cage. He's pretty insistent about playing like this. The way he twists his head and grunts is bird-language for "I'm having fun". Look at his other vids - it's apparent that I know him well.

  • at 0:42

    "Oh no I'm gunna fall!"

    *Owner puts hand out*

"Oh thanks for helping me up!"

    *Owner spins bird*

    "Bastard!"

  • That's a very young Leo, a lot of green on him. I watch your videos and it makes me sad to think he is gone. I have had two sun conures. Both have passed.

  • @KippTheKidd It really is toxic. About nine or so years ago, I was boiling water, (my aunt is a bird breeder) and left it. The teflon pot burned and took a housefull of birds (24).

  • Cool He Likes The Fan.

Don't Get Him Use To It. In Case He Decides To Play With It One Day When It's Turned On.

  • @KippTheKidd thanks for the answer. beginning to think having a smoker in the house didn't help either.

  • @CF4LIf3 Yeah, sounds very likely. Birds have sensitive lungs. Apparently burning teflon (like a teflon-coated pan that got too hot) is particularly fatal, but smoking too!

  • Ninja bird is un-seen o_O

  • @KippTheKidd, i wasn't really expecting an answer lol. Nice surprise though thanks alot. now another you seem like you know what your talking about, my old cockateil, just a normal grey one with the yellow head an orange cheeks, some point just randomly started panting heavy and i was hearing a gurgeling. eventually he died. any idea as to what that was?

  • @CF4LIf3 Sounds like pneumonia - infection in the lungs. Birds hide their symptoms well, and then die quickly, it's too bad. Birds are particularly susceptible. I'm sorry for your loss.

  • can birds puke?

  • @CF4LIf3 Yes, and they do - sometimes to feed their lovers / babies. Or if they're sick...

Birds don't get "seasick" or anything like that though, because they'd probably end up falling out of the sky!

  • I just love when those birds just hang upside-down like it's totally normal xD

  • hes all WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE XD

  • Cuteeee!!!

  • ahaha funny but i dont think its ood for the bird but nice vid

  • It's so funny to see him spinning on the chain.

It's cool what he knows, too. He can stop the spin with a wing flap, or make himself spin. He can go toward the hub of the fan to minimize centrifugal force pushing him outward.

You might like the bird vids on my channel, too.

  • realy nic m8. can u tell me how to train ur parrots to do funny stufs msg me plz/

  • He's just adorable! He has personality and style! I'd be laughing every time this happens.

Curious though- Do you have him out when you do use the fan? Or he doesn't fly to it when it's on?

  • @staryfruity The fan is never on - too dangerous! We unplugged it.

  • @staryfruity We unplugged the fan to avoid any accidents - we never used it.

  • it's funny how birds like that can stop themselves from spinning...lol

  • haha sweet bird

  • This is great! Was your bird always so brave, or did he grow into it? My Pionus (a 2 yr old, only have had him for approx 3 weeks) is pretty shy and nervous of new textures and things outside of his cage. I'd like to encourage him the right way... Anyway, thanks for sharing!

  • @susaneharley He was always very courageous. I have found that a lot of birds that get their wings clipped while young are nervous all the time.

The best option is exposure - lots of calm and patient with lots of new things.

  • @KippTheKidd

i never clipped mt parrot's wings but he so scared of everything

  • @KippTheKidd My bird got his wings cut when I got him, he was about 2 months. But now, I think he totaly forgot it, we never cutted his wings since and he's calm and very lovely. But how do we do now if we want him to go outside without leash and without getting his wings cut ? Could you give me a tip ?

  • @StormChecker - It's dangerous to take your bird outside either way. I had one with full wings accidentally escape and fly away. I had another get scared out of my hands, try to fly, then get swept away by the wind & over a hedge - I thought into a busy street. That bird just made it to a tree on the other side of the road... luck-eee!

I clip my birds wings just a bit at the tip 'til they're a bit mature and tame. Then I let the wings grow out. But, I never take them outside.

  • @KutWrite Sorry for your loss but it just sounds like your birds never had any flight training and proper socialization so they get scared and jolt, get caught by the wind and don't know how to get down. Just saying it's not all dangerous to take them outside, it only is when they are unprepared. There's plenty of people who let their birds free flight outdoors and Kipp is a great example.

  • @StormChecker I agree with @KutWrite... Birds don't really become agile and confident fliers unless they learned to fly while young. A little wing clipping would be safer.

If you have LOTS and LOTS of time, and lots of confidence and experience, you could try free-flight training - it is hard but possible with an older bird, but do your research first.

  • aww cute! talented little birdie id hate to see he fall! youve done some good training

  • I have two parakeets and they LOVE my ceiling fan.

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!! That is soooo cute! Especially when he grabs onto the string and starts spinning around, and then when he stops he's acting like "spin me spin me!" It kills me how he likes to hang upside down by one foot like that :) LOL Great bird!

  • i loveee it:))....spin birdd:>:>L commonnn shake it

  • lol so funny

  • this is just like the circus :D

  • @EARLSREPAIRS u douche dnt u see wat kippthekid is saying? leo liiiiiiikes to do tht its fun for him and wtf ur stupid how can tht happen? u dnt know squat about birds if wat u were saying was true leo wud already be dead and birds arent as delicate and stupid as u think they are very smart go read a how to book about parrots and parikeets u moron..by the way kipp i luv ur vids and i luv leo hes brilliant and lets not forget u who teaches him those tricks :) bravo 5 stars for this video!

  • thats not a way to treat a parrot lol

  • for your information pet owner, when a bird puts his foot out and hanging upside down, it means that he wants you to get him. and when you spin a bird on the fan, be aware how fast it goess. the dizzyness might cause it to have a heart attack .

  • @baybexgirlxDee Read comments and watch more vids before posting so you don't look like an idiot.

This is Leo's daily routine. He hangs from the string and squawks until someone spins him - it couldn't be any clearer than that.

Birds are much less likely to get dizzy because they have better sensory integration between balance and vision due to the fact that they are often flying far from a visual reference. As far as the forces from spinning, I already answered that in a previous comment.

  • @baybexgirlxDee BY THE WAY LEO IS DEAD R.I.P LEO

  • This bird is so trusting and relaxed and just goes to show he knows he can trust his mum and dad . A lovely video

  • merry go round for retarded birds, lol

  • @dominic123212321 Why is it retarded??

  • I was about to say "He might hurt himself!" But then I saw u were pushing the fan not the actual fan. I am relieved(:

  • hah, leo is very talented. thanks for the uploading the videos. conures are such goofballs.

  • Wow, earlsrepairs is the most retarded macho-wannabe I've seen in a while.

  • SO CUTE. Is that a type of lovebird?

  • ♥cute♥

  • I have that same fan. O.o

  • Haha! Hilarious.

I hope your next bird brings you at least as much joy - and vice-versa!

  • I LOVE that you didn't cut his wings. Thats the only way I would ever have a bird. I couldn't possible cut the wings of a bird.

Did you have to give him special training for him to come back to the house whenever he left??

    Thanks!

  • @LifeMattersChannel It's really best to trim their wings 'til they're tame and trust you, plus know what glass and mirrors are. Otherwise they can fly right into a window or mirror.

After that, it's your judgment call whether to clip. I've done it both ways and just slightly clip. They can fly downward and break a fall, landing gently, or fly-hop to different surfaces, but not get into serious trouble. Just my own way.

  • @37PalmTrees if it was animal abuse and the bird wouldn't like it he would even sit on it would he??

  • Woah! Can your Parrot Fly? Nah Mine no....Cause we cut of the wing's Part that helps to fly...Not All Part Of course! Some long ones! If mine can fly Then If he fly out the window I think He will say "i believe i can fly!" Lol xD

  • lol

  • Haha that bird loves to spin :D We'll be bringing our new conure home in about 3 weeks and plan to leave him fully flighted too. Birds do love to take rides, and I think it's clear to any bird owner that he was enjoying himself.

  • @justinnapier Oops! I meant to give you a thumbs-up. Can't take it back!

I agree 100% with you. My Pineapple Green-Cheeked conure Jasper loves rides on my spinning office chair, a swing, a chain, a "boing", my shoulder and spun on any smooth surface. He comes back for more 'til I am tired!

  • bloody hell people these days

dont do this it might hurt him/her

they love to play around cant you see

  • This is a real cute video, Sorry to hear about leo though. And to all that think a fan that ISN'T plugged in can kill a bird, It can't. This is not animal cruelty or anything like that. Conures love to play around and do things like that.

  • You my friend, have a ninja on your hands.

  • he looks like a figure skater when he spins lol

  • Oh man he looks so darn funny hangin' from one foot! CUTE! I saw one at Petsmart once and it was all alone and kept trying to hand me pices of it's food :[ Had I had the $700.00 I would have stuffed him in my hoodie and taken him home.

  • i think the little rascal was having a good time, i'm sorry for you loss that he's no longer with us

  • Parakeets and paraots love to ride on things. If you have an R/C car they ride on the back and you drive them around. My friend has one and we drive him everywhere and when we are about to leave my friends room his bird hops on the car and we know he wants to come

  • i subbed.

i love your vids and i love Leo.

    sorry for your loss.

  • The bird goes to the bottom of the chain and squawks until someone spins him... and he keeps coming back for more. Clearly, he likes it.

And as far as spinning and squashing the bird's brain, here's the formula:

    sqrt(G/((1.118 * 10^-6) * radius)) = rpm

A bird sustains more than 5Gs during flight maneuvers, so that'll be our maximum "safe" G-value. The radius of the bird's head is less than 25mm... SO, in order to hurt the bird, he'd have to be spinning at 422 RPM, or 7 rotations per second.

  • i agree with you,i saw a video of a guinea pig taking a bath in like 1 inch water and someone said ''look at the poor thing,he's drowning because of you!'' and no one was forceing the piggie to be in the water so yes i very do agree with you!

  • @KippTheKidd is that a real formula? it looks really really complicated lol. and are most sun conures trust worthy or is it just your bird?

  • @denrue Yup, it's the real formula - determines how many RPM are required to get equivalent gravitational force at the given distance from the pivot. Google for converting G force to RPM.

  • @KippTheKidd Too scientific. My brain hurts

  • @BeaTanLim Funny, I wrote up the formula to prove a point to an asshole and an idiot. Considering you are apparently neither, you don't need to understand the formula. :)

  • @KippTheKidd I'm an asshole! TEEHEE Thanks!

  • I suggest you stop talking about things of which you know nothing about.

For being such a lover of life, it's interesting how you prefer to resort to accusation and violence over communication... well, unless, you'd get in trouble.

So tell me, if this bird was let loose outside, do you think he'd come back? Why or why not?

  • @EARLSREPAIRS Sounds like you're the one who needs some pussy to play with.

    Peace upon you - really!

  • @EARLSREPAIRS and on top of that, birds can pull a crapload of Gs... I think they can pull up to about 5, and in an airplane, you would start to blackout if you pulled that many.

  • @EARLSREPAIRS God dammit, I've never met such a huge idiot who knows nothing about birds. If they were that sensitive they'd all be falling from the sky whenever they fly. You sir, are a total idiot and deserve to be ran over by your own parked car.

  • @LuyenDarkness Haha well said!

  • REMEMBER THIS: I respect birds more than most humans I an forces to deal with. If I were to have to deal with you personally, I'd break your legs while video taping my actions before I'd see your bird hurt!!!

  • @EARLSREPAIRS Okay I'm very glad that you care so much for my bird, but seriously, what got up your ass? With everyone telling you how retarded you sound, don't you think you should reassess what you're seeing?

The bird is having fun, he begs for this kind of attention - it's a daily ritual. He may not be superintelligent, be he does know enough to stop if it hurts him, and yet, he keeps doing it. If you can't see the sense in that, I'm afraid you've been outwitted by a bird-brain!

  • Oh also - I don't mind you using my video to get out your message about respecting animals and being nice and all, but if you post any more irrational aggressive threats, I'll just ban you.

  • @EARLSREPAIRS ok ur not mr tough guy, bet u dont even have a bird

  • @EARLSREPAIRS You're a fucking retarded vulture.

  • @EARLSREPAIRS You're a fucking retarded vulture.

  • @LuyenDarkness LMFAO !!!!

  • @EARLSREPAIRS what do cats have to do with it?

  • @EARLSREPAIRS Yeah, it's not like he could fly away or anythi.... oh wait.

  • @EARLSREPAIRS you are an idiot. You probably wouldnt know how to handle a bird.

  • @EARLSREPAIRS Your mom gave it to you anally when you were a child thats why you like 5 minutes in dark alleys.

  • Comment removed

  • It's not plugged in for that very reason, judgmental human.

  • @KippTheKidd Thank you!! Im so happy to see someone who can so elequently deal with such unintelligent people who take no joy in their own lives and have little else to do then empart their own unhappiness on others simple play and enjoyment with their family members. Thank you very much.

  • thts nasa's space training for Parrots =) cute

  • thats cute i am surprised that he didnt get dizzy

  • have you ever had an other type of bird?

  • I've had: 50 chickens 2 barn swallows 3 budgies 2 nanday conures 2 cockatiels 1 cherry-headed conure 1 monk (Quaker) parrot 1 sun conure I have none now. They were sold or given to friends, 2 died. My next bird will probably be a Noble Macaw or a Scarlet Macaw.
  • I have a budgie, he is very tame but i can't hold him in my hand only scratch him with my finger.

can you write some tips of how you can hold a budgie in your hand and the budgie would like it?

  • If they are not tamed you can hold them by the neck (Not to tight) and by the tail (Also not to tight). Their chest can not have any pressure on it in order for them to breath.

  • hahaha your gonna make it dizzy!

  • Haha yeah, he never seemed to get dizzy, no matter how much I spun him... and he'd keep coming back for more!

  • lol....if he doesn't fly away when its spinning fast,i think he'll be VERY dizzy and fall off the paddle.

  • I suppose you'd want to be treated differently.

  • how cute

  • That could kill your bird...

  • no it cant birds are reeeeeeeeeeeeeealy agile

  • i would laugh if just took a shit on ur head

  • Kind of an odd way to power a ceiling fan, eh?

  • Dizzyyyyy...

  • my pigeon does that too!! lol

  • lol that is so funny, should try it sometime!

  • oh that is very cool...well i have 2 sun conures myself

  • CIRCUS BIRD! :P

  • why does leo look green on his chest in this video

  • He was probally young in this video, until suns begin moulting, they`ll have these color feathers that makes them look like a Jenday.

  • my bird do that alot in my room

  • Leo looks like a jenday....

    in this video

  • what a legend

  • I just noticed something about Leo's videos. Every other video i've seen of sun conures tells tales of them being terribly loud birds, a noise you would have to get used to. But Leo didn't make many sounds at all o_O

  • jajajajajajajja this is fun!

  • Leo is adorable. (:

  • Wow quite the acrobat, just needs a little leotard.

  • omg I had that same fan! Don't put it on high if its old, the blade flies off - it nearly put a hole in our wall lol! and sorry to hear about leo :( he was an amazing bird from what I can see.

  • He doesn't get nauseous? D:

  • I like leo! hes a cool parakeet. cool vids leo and Kippthekid! :D

  • now im no bird expert but isn't a fan dangerous around a bird?

beautiful sun conure by the way!

  • Only if the bird is not smart enough IMO.

  • that's soo cute! 8D

  • Leo is soooo totally awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • R.I.P Leo... :´(

  • Comment removed

  • SUPER!! :)

  • LOL SO CUTE

  • my bird likes to sit on the fan too!

  • amg are you nuts! Why would you teach that to him! It could get him killed or injured!

  • If you are careful (and I believe you are) I think it's nothing bad to let a parrot sit on it and have some fun:) It was really cute and I love how the parrot enjoyed different kinds of fun over there:)

and for people - a toy made for parrots can be deadly for them! trust me, it happened to my parrot when it got stuck in a toy (no idea how) and died of suffocation. It was nasty and I know that I just have to be careful about EVERYTHING.

  • please be careful. Ceiling fans can be deadly for parrots...my neighbors parrot died by flying into one. This might not be the best idea.

  • Yeah, smart idea. Teach the bird that the fan is a toy; that way it flies toward the thing. Great way to give it positive reinforcement for landing and playing on a potentially deadly object..

  • Actually, I was a bit hasty... Sorry for being a jerk. (I deleted my previous reply)

Leo will never understand the dangers of the fan, so it's been permanently disconnected.

Just try not to judge your first impression... We are both guilty of it! I had a look at your page and realized you're really just a person, like me... Now have a look at my page ;)

    Peace,

    - Kipp

  • I'm glad to hear that it's been disconnected— it's really hard to kill a bird with a fan that gets pushed by hand as long as it's pushed from the outside edge.

My first concern was for the safety of your bird. I don't know what I'd do if I somehow accidentally injured or killed my bird; he's a member of the family.

It's amazing how we can become so attached to such small creatures.

  • i am not turning my fan on around my parrot.

  • Nice video Great bird:)

  • Wh,os bird is this?
