  • i also added a chevy alternator so i could run lots of lights or elec- cylinder on the drag again great job i will let you know how the new one is coming .

  • mine is powered by a 4 cylinder subaru with the 4 speed subaru trans driving tracks of two sifari chassies , would like to build something simalure to yours ( in the planing stage ) thanks MCN...

  • nice job bud i biult my own to its lots of fun.

  • @hillbillyironworks Thanks for your comment. I had a look at yours and it's pretty neat. What kind of engine and tranny are you running?

  • A four stroke would have been quieter thus making the radio feesable.

  • @gmc07joe I agree with that. But I used what I had on hand while I was building the machine to save some cash. My thinking was that in time, good used 4-stroke sled engines will become more readily available at reasonable prices and I hope to eventually install a Turbo 660 Arctic Cat engine in this rig. I'm starting to look for an insurance write-off 660 Cat from which I could snag an engine. Thanks for your comment.

  • @2500vtg Nice job I"m impressed.

  • can i buy this from you? thats sweet!

  • Hello cropdusterpilot....sorry, but it's not for sale. I have way too much time invested in it to consider selling it and I need it to maintain our narrower snowmobile trails. But thanks for your interest.

  • Homemade? Nothing looks homemade to me. You would have to be a millionaire retired machinist with a fully equipped shop and engineers for sons. Or else you are awesome

  • @tld5500 Gee, thanks tld5500. However, I am none of the above. Just a poor farmer who likes tinkering in my shop. I don't even own a lathe, but I have a buddy who helped me by turning out the three splined and keyed shafts I needed to build this thing. The rest I did myself. Winter is quickly aproaching and there's a few minor mods I want to do on it for the coming season. Nothing major though.

  • @2500vtg Farmers rule. You are great, but you already know that. It was great to see the video, thanks for sharing. I hope the mods go well, and you remain in good health and good spirits through the winter

  • You're awesome

  • @CcharlieEn Gee thanks, Charlie. Later this fall, there will be a story about this machine in Farm Show Magazine.

  • That's a sweet groomer! How many miles of trails do you groom? Keep it up.

  • @snowcatlawnmower Thanks for your comment. I maintain a 25 mile loop with this machine all winter long, however I also use it on some of our clubs other trail sections that see higher traffic so that the trail stays in decent condition between passes with our larger groomer. So I probably average about 80-100 miles of grooming per week with this rig.

  • Thanks for posting these great videos on YouTube.they are fun to watch

  • my only question why a 2 stroke power plant and a small one too? wouldnt a 4 stoke be more reliable and get better milage? oh and great work btw i am jealous of your groomer and how nice it is got being home made

  • @dontbsadberad I chose the Polaris 440 L/C mainly because I had one on hand and for a 2-stroke, they are a fairy fuel efficient engine. My intentions were to replace it with a 4-stroke sled engine someday once those engines are more readily available on the used market. But, I'm quite content with the power and economy of the 440 Polaris mill. If I can ever snag a 660 Cat engine for a good price, I might consider installing one but mainly just to have quieter power. Thanks for your comment.

  • badass it is!

  • i'd like to build something similar...any advice?

  • i'd like to know how you built it...i'd like to have something similar

  • @xav233 I'm not really sure what you want to know? I started with 2 snowmobile tracks and a plan I drew up on a paper napkin at a coffee shop one night and just winged it from there. As for advise, what do you need help with? Thanks for your inquiry

  • a walkaround of your vehicule would be appreciated

  • @xav233 I'll get some better video of it when I get it out this fall. Meanwhile, if you check my other videos, there is one showing it with several of the body panels removed. Thanks for your interest.

  • is that really homemade? The snowmobile? It´s more like a terain monster!!! That is cool! Like this, thumbs up!

  • Yes, it's a machine I built myself 2 yrs ago. I built it primarily for grooming some of our narrower trails which our Tucker is too wide for. It turned out way better than I had envisoned when I drew up some plans for it on a paper napkin at a local coffee shop one evening. I had basically zero experience in building things of any sort, so I kinda just winged it.......yet, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I have a few more vids of it on youtube. Thanks for your comments.

  • Nice job. I really like these type of videos.

  • Thanks for your comment. I'll be posting a few more vids of this unit next winter.

  • id love to ride this trail in a nordic i got for free

  • That's a nice groomer!
