I think the word they chose was "teabagging". I think no one is disagreeing consevatives love sucking insurance's balls. Just remember the first tea party was about taxes, not health care. Nice for taking history out of context. Homo-phobs.
No corporation runs my life or yours. You make choices and those choices have consequences. Nothing about this bill is going to make your life better. Nothing is this bill will make healthcare cheaper. It will not lower rates but raise them.
I'll say it again, liberals are the remoras of society. Unable to support and provide for themselves, and lacking the self-respect and pride to work for themselves, they feed off of the scraps of larger, more productive members of society. They essentially hired Obama to do their street corner, coffee can panhandling for them - taking money from the productive, because they are a lesser species that really hasn't earned the right to anything other than the sad begging lives they currently live
Your comment is the PRIMARY reason why people should NOT be allowed to PROFIT off of the health of others. YOU looking out for your profit margin would DENY someone ACCESS to being treated and given a chance to live and therefore, be sent to there DEATH! I am not against PROFIT but it should have no place as to whether a person LIVES or DIE.
Starting a clinic to offer services for health and making a profit is fine! I have no problem with that! Health insurance and Insurance in general are all PROFIT CASH COWS. They offer NO SERVICES. They just collect money and pay for small things that would not CUT into their profit. You will pay for my healthcare as I will pay for yours. My wife and I do WELL for ourselves and do not mind paying taxes to insure that our children will not be denied treatment due to a profit margin!
@Silveracity A "Company to provide healthcare"? Do you mean Doctors, Nurses, medical equipment and medicine? Because if you don't mean that then I don't know of ANY insurance company that has given me Medical Care. In fact, denying healthcare OR making coding for healthcare billing so complex that patients or doctors may never get reimbursed is VERY profitable: 18% and higher overhead.
Compare this to Medicare and the V.A. - both popular but only 3% overhead.
If you have every gone to a hospital, chances are, that hospital was run by a corporation. Something like Hospital Corporation of America runs. Profit is the motivation for running health care well. But if you don't care what health care costs, you have endless amounts of money or you are making someone else pay your bills.
@Silveracity I think you mean “competition”. “Profit”, by definition, is the antithesis of putting resources into patient care. How can 18% costs be better than 3% costs? Walter Reed (military) is good enough to treat U.S. Presidents. Are Republicans against for Congress' healthcare plan?
Do soldiers legislate while fighting a war? Why is this call to inject business into healthcare so popular? Because corporations know that lobbying public opinion is just as important as lobbying Congress.
Dude read the bill. This new plan only covers you for preexisting conditions if you can afford it. You don't get to decide if you can afford it or not. If you make more then the poverty level ($28,000) you MUST buy the government plan which can run more than $10k or face jail time.
This isn't hypocrisy. The Republicans stood up and clapped because they are infavor of ending the practice of denying coverage because of pre-existing conditions. Get your facts straight.
It's other parts of the bill that they object to like the 2000 page length, the coverage of abortions, the absence of tort reform, the extra taxes on medical devices, the cuts to medicaid, the absense of reform leting insurers sell accross state lines, and the nearly 2 trilion dollar price tag. Look it up.
@TheOriginalLonestar um... The republicans "Bill" for insurance reform DID NOT INCLUDE A PROVISION FOR ENDING PRE EXISTING CONDITION ! thats the point of this vid!
*sigh* I found the text of the bill and you are half correct. The Boehner Bill creates pools for people with Pre-existing conditions just as the Dems Bill does, but it doesn't actually eliminate it all together like the Dems bill does by 2013. This is clearly not adequate & not in line with what other GOP leaders have indicated in the past. That section of the bill needs to be amended before I can fully support the bill.
@TheOriginalLonestar I appreciate your candor on the matter, I was just reading your comments and you seem to have made some sensible/respectful comments, I may butt heads w/ you on the bill but regardless, appreciate the respect, so, what do you think about the option for states to drop out of the public option, isn't that a fairly good compromise that would satisfy most people. red states can drop out, and blue states can keep.
I do think the spirit of the Opt-out option is good, but it is unlikely to be attractive to most Red states. If all states are required to collect the increased taxes & fees for the national insurance pool it makes no sense to then opt-out. I'd be paying more for less benefits. No, I think the Dems could better ease my concerns by removing the abortion text, adding tort reform, allowing cross-state insurance sales. That said, my priority is ending the pre-existing condition exclusions.
Human life offers the option for people to NOT care about others. Then they find out they didn't care for themselves. Everyone deserves medical care . . . food and shelter. Everyone.
Republicans? the reason people come from around the world to get our Health Care is because the Government doesnt run it, we could reform the private makets without spending a Trillion dollars the NAZI from sweden doesnt have half the rights I have , Liberals are pathetic, ignorant people that think there fighting for the people that want them to have rights
HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE FREE HEALTH CARE? It is so stupid to me, I am glad to live in Sweden but I feel bad for all those people without such a common right!!!
Unfortunately that's not the case in the senate. Douches like Lieberman impede progress, we barely passed the bill 220-215, now Reps. are going to filibuster with the help of bough out "Dems".
Neither of you get. Learn how Congress works. The Reps are loud because thats about all they have to influence the process. The Dems have a majority in both houses of Congress, Pelosi and Reid refuse to let Rep bills be hered out of commitee (It's their job to send sponsored bills to the floor for discussion), and the Dems have a big enough majority to prevent filibusters.
And dont forget that the so called Reconciliation process has been invoked.
The Blue Dog Dems arnt impeding progress, they're trying to get relected in more conservative districts that would turn them out of office if they voted yes on this monstrous bill.
So, let me get this straight,, yourstupidyouknowtha's solution to the health insurance problems is to give them car insurance, like Geico and Progressive? Brilliant!
"No one wants your SHIT bill" Americans in favor of public option: 77% (SurveyUSA) 65% (NY Times/CBS News) 55% (Washington Post/ABC News) 61% (Quinnipiac) 55% (Time) 72% (NY Times/CBS News) 56% (Washington Post/ABC News) 59% (Kaiser Family Foundation) Every poll says more Americans are in favor of the public option than against it. You are in the minority on this one, get your facts straight.
You are using old poll numbers. I didn't check them all but the Survey USA which was the highest at 77% was from June its now at 43%. Try checking your facts, the majority of Americans DO NOT WANT A PUBLIC OPTION!!!!!
actually the surveyUSA is from August. and please link the poll saying 43% from surveyUSA
2 are from September and yet another two were from October so these are not old polls.
only one is from June (NYtimes) and that is the earliest
So in terms of facts here's how it goes, I present 6 polls from the last 2 months that the American people want the public option and you claim 1 poll contradicts this? Please...
I think the word they chose was "teabagging". I think no one is disagreeing consevatives love sucking insurance's balls. Just remember the first tea party was about taxes, not health care. Nice for taking history out of context. Homo-phobs.

If it's MY private company, don't I have the right to run it the way I would like for a profit and not a loss?
If YOU would like to start a company to provide health care to people at a loss, please do so. But you won't will you?
Its easy to say that you want heath care for all people as long as you yourself dont have to pay for it, isnt it?
What percent of your income do you pay now, and how much more are you willing to pay?
