The movie's just showing portrayal of how an actual battle looked. It does show the American's side, but it's not saying the German's are evil, like some poorly made war movie which is just one sided, that's why this is a great movie b/c no one is evil for being forced to fight in a terrible war.
I don't think the Germans were "stupid" in this scene. Rolling into a destroyed town that held scattered dudes, rigged explosives, 30 caliber machine guns, and even guys dropping Molotov cocktails from balconies is pretty tricky.
What makes this less Hollywood is that the Americans don't really "win". A signature Hollywood move would be if these 20something dudes actually went Rambo and took out everyone.

That was a 20mm Flak 38 cannon. If it were a 40mm it would have devastated not only the infantry into an indistinguishable mush but the tiger I turret would also have endured some signifcant damage.

The Tiger doesn't fire its bow MG, and the crew doesn't have the hatches locked. Germans repeatedly pass in front of a machine gun firing through a hole in the wall. It actually undermines the heroism of the US soldiers when you realize the relative ineptitude of their opponents.
Militarily, there's no comparison. But much of manufacturing has left; east, NE, and Midwest are largely emptying, people leaving toward coasts, and lack of confidence to DO the right thing is palpable. molotov was a soviet foreign minister of the cold war. i made a typo. back then molotov wasn't famous yet he was alive. i think he was part of the cold war after wwii

molotov was born in 1890 and died around 1986 fellah. The phrase came from the soviet bombing of Finland, when molotov claimed they wernt dropping bombs, but dropping baskets of food and aid supplies.. In return, the petrol bomb was called a molotov cocktail
