It would be real sweet if you put up a website somewhere with instructions on how to build one of these. Of course I dunno, maybe you'd get sued when some idiot did burn his face off... You could probably word everything in a way that protected you (legally) though.

okay i tested it out today and everything went fine until i raised my arm to change to liquid. and it squirted ot drops of fuel that caught my nozle anf hand on fire. any suggestions on how to overcome this?

it's different- this one is simplified to just a piezo-electric sparker. This is possible because I'm using a gaseous fuel. It turned out to be very reliable.

No, the camera is IR sensitive. The flame is normal colors.

You just stated yourself that you're not trying to create a weapon, and that's fine, but who said that creating a Pyro System that shot out a longer/bigger flame HAD to be used as a weapon? You also said that you were trying to create a "visual effect". Well I'm here to let you know that a bigger flame is a bigger visual effect.

I understand you were just showing the ignition system, but how do you expect to shoot a stream of flame with that? I think your first build was the best. The whole concept with the string around the thumb seems too fragile.

Not to say I don't respect you or your work, I just think the newer versions of the Pyro System are becoming too simple.

I think you're missing the point. This is not a weapon; it does not need to project a large, dangerous flame. It is simply meant to create a visual effect.
