Did you have to change the jetting in the carb? I 'm considering doing the same on my bayliner 2655 and was looking to see what all interchanged and what had to be done. Thanks, Mike.

@michiganmotorz2008 Hi Phil, I have a 21' Bayliner Trophy with a 98 5.0L with a Bravo III. I was looking to upgrade to a 5.7L. How much inprovement would I see by doing this or its not worth it? I cruise @ 29 mpr @ 3700 and 44 mpr @ 4800 rpm WOT

Hello Phil, Question? Do you perfer Carburator or EFI on a boat? I have heard that with the cheap gas that we have now a days it is better to have a Carburator than EFI is that true or?
Nice. I have a 5.0 in my 2008 Maraih SC23 that is running hot at 30 knots. It appears the exhaust manifolds on each side have different temps (one hot, the other cold). Suggestions?
Check you tee Valve assembly, i have seen these go bad. As long as the riser is cool enough to touch it should be. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
what would it take to put a 4 barrel carb on a 5.0L V8 Mercruiser (GM, 305). I currently have a 2 barrel stock carb on it. The motor powers a 21' Bayliner. It has trouble getting out of the hole for skiers. I have changed props and this solves the problem, but I just wanted to ask out of curiosity.....is this possible? I have heard it will take a new intake manifold to accomodate the bolt pattern. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Would this help my gas economy?
@micbaca Going to the 4 barrel carb (with matching intake) would mean more power and torque and help a bit with the skiers, but you will pay for it with extra fuel. What did you do for the prop? We put a 4 blade 21p vensura on our 5.0 mpi alpha 1 on our 20ft glastron and that made awesome holeshot and midrange pulling power for skiers.
I bought a 350 (new Long block) from you guys 87-95 style to replace my pre 86 350 in my Formula 242 LS. I can say the boat runs like a new craft . Thanx LI sound boater.
Ok so I have a 2006 Sea Ray with a carb 305 that looks just like that intake set up. What 350 bottom end would I order that would match up? Do you have a website that I could order the engine from? Thanks. Oh and very nice work.

it cost loads on fuel though! at least 100 euro to fill it! so the 4.3 is big enough.. to hard on fuel with the price of it

You would need a new 5.7L long block or a remanufacted long block.
Please call me to discuss more in detail.

Wasn't it a better idea to supercharge the original engine?
ccmutlu 2 years ago
Superchargers are nice but the cost is very high. The customer had a broken 5.0L so a new engine was installed. This was the most economical upgrade.
