Yep, it has co op, but the difference is wht console you buy it for, with the PS2, you have Carbon Crash but with the wii and xbox 360, they can have coco as a playable character.

if you have a second controller, just press circle, and carbon crash will come out of crash's backpack.

you don't have to be in a certain level or anything other than what i told you. it might be a defective disc or PS2, if it's the PS2, try to play another game (the legend of spyro dawn of the dragon is an example) that has co op to see if it's the PS2, if co op works then it's probably the disc but suggest you talk to someone who knows about these things.

Do you need a dualshock 2 controller or something cause i only have 1 and one is for ps1

I think that's the problem. You need DuelShock 2 for PS2 and each DuealShock needs to be to connected to it's repsective PlayStation (like DuealShock 3 for PS3) to fully work. I think, anyway.

What i have to say about 1-P and 2-P mode is:

1-P mode: Solo, hard, and challenging.

2-P mode: Teamwork, easy, and ALOT more fun!

i u want 2 player make sure both controllers are plugged in then while player 1 is on a level press circle on the other controller then press circle again to play 2

To get carbon Crash, you have to press a botton on the second controller, PS2 press circle, xbox360 I think you press B and for Wii, well I don't know.
