I can see how it would be very hard for a lot of people to accept Carlos, but I think that if you don't know what it's like for someone, then you can't judge them. Cross dressers are not fake and neither are transsexuals. They are embracing who they are inside and expressing it courageously, and people should stop judging by outside appearances and judge people by what kind of person they are.

I am all for people being who they are, etc but being a woman isn't about wearing make-up, jewelry, pretty outfits, etc. To me, it's about being a mother, carrying a baby inside of you, nursing your child, being strong, independent, and selfless. Unfortunately, transgendered people will never be true women in my eyes.

Don't worry about what label you fit under. Most of us just use transgender, as an umbrella term. Others, like myself and possibly you, may fit better under the term gender-queer. I personally don't like that it has the word queer in it, because it implies that I am gay. Perhaps we need a new word, something like bi-modal-gender-androgyny. Of course one term that people seem to forget, that fits us is Human Being. The world would be such a boring place without diversity of nature.
