@CheetaApollo Also it depends if they are happy. If your quails hatch their own eggs out that means you are doing every thing right and they are very happy. I was told that the Japanese Quail does not incubate their own eggs. I put in some seed trays with long grass growing in after it had dried and gone brown, 4 weeks later there was a clutch of eggs in the middle of one of them then after a week she started to sit on them 5 of the 9 eggs hatched and 4 chicks survived.

YES! We bought a few because we were told they were flightless birds. First time I tried putting them in their pen the boy ran out flew over the REALLY high fence into the neighbours... and he's the weakest out of all that we have.

@S1L3NCIOSO with the quails, I gave them straws, grass and leaves. Some of them also used my budgies feathers or their own. Basically most things in the garden as long as they are not too large.

hey, i found some eggs in my yard a few weeks ago, they hatched today or yesterday and i found one dead and one alive far from the nest, and the rest were nowhere. i need help

@themudball ummm where's the parents? the chicks may have been taken by predators. I found a couple of my chicks covered in ants! Sadly both died soon after. :(

@TommyVT05 My quails hatched all their youngs. I don't own an incubator. They just did it themselves, didn't do anything with them. I had a male once that would sit on the eggs and the female of the pair would have nothing to do with it. unfortunate thing was that when the one that did hatch hatched, the male didn't know what to make of it and it was dead when I got to it. :(

Thanks, I actually have 5 quail now all happy, 3 brown, i ginger and 1 white, 4 females and 1 male. I got a rabbit hutch for them for winter as i think it will be warmer :)
