This was a pretty good cover. She needs a little help with her tone. Needs a better amp model preamp and a better recording software or sound card if she's recording direct. Very shrill and this song really needs a smooth tone. But, there is no doubt she can play. Another couple years and she'll really be a great player. Keep it up!!

I happened to watch a few videos of this girl, and have to say the tone and effects on the guitar are extremely annoying and irritating. The playing itself is good for her age, but could use a lot more polishing..take some classical guitar lessons..and please..the tone and effects!!
I rated you up and I like how you play, but the "hard rock" guitar crunch has been over used . I used to listen to nothing but hard rock and Joe S. But it's not always how hard the guitar sounds that makes it beautiful. Do you play acoustic I'd love to hear it . Music isn't a contest except, against yourself ; Many people try to see how much of the song they can fill with guitar or how fast they can play instead of how versatile they can make the guitar sound without electrical effects.

God that tone is so crazy bad, and your form is so off especially when you play live, your videos show how more worried about showing off you are than you are about playing, and while you some how manage not to screw up you still have an arm that looks like it's flailing and not playing. You look like an epileptic.

@DesireeBassett Damn you've got some ego going on there. I'm not one to bash, and for starters I'll say right away that you've made it farther than I did and probably ever will. So yeah, maybe I am jealous but believe me that's besides the point - I've been more jealous of several other players on Youtube (give you an example -check out RikuNiemonen and his Metalcore Improv video, recorded when he was 15 by my maths, and see how friggin better he is than you).
@DesireeBassett Now, having that said: you're good, but not that good. I mean seriously if you had the smallest bit of modesty left in you you'd know that as well as any one who at least tries to be impartial would. Your tone in this video doesn't really do you any favors (I read and understood the description) but even in your other, live videos... Come on. I did go and see and you are right. I wasn't too impressed with Bassett, but Kageyama had my mouth open in disbelief. Thick, round tone, and she's f**king great! And she's consistent, check out her metal version of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. She doesn't just throw unsyncopated pentatonic licks all over the place, very trained and clean player. Must be in the water in that part of the world. Listen to her Vai-For THe Love Of God tone. It's sick!

Work on that tone Desriee! Even Steve Vai was told by Zappa early in his career that he played great but his tone sucked. Your tone is too thin and brittle, not fat enough. Think about each note as an expression of what you feel inside. Like an inner voice. You play good for your age and I wish you all the best. The smiling is a little too much, it comes across as insincere. Kind of like a beauty pageant smile. Show bands in Vegas do that smiley stuff for tourists

Anyway like I said, I'm only being such an ass because of the immense appreciation you seem to have for your playing. I truly wish you all the best and hope you keep getting better, and with luck you'll rock out with even more music giants. I just think everyone should be well aware of what and how they're playing, and to me it seems that a lot of the attention brought upon you was solely due to you being a woman, and a young one at it, and that attention seems to have affected you :)

I did go and see and you are right. I wasn't too impressed with Bassett, but Kageyama had my mouth open in disbelief. Thick, round tone, and she's f**king great! And she's consistent, check out her metal version of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. She doesn't just throw unsyncopated pentatonic licks all over the place, very trained and clean player. Must be in the water in that part of the world. Listen to her Vai-For THe Love Of God tone. It's sick!

Work on that tone Desriee! Even Steve Vai was told by Zappa early in his career that he played great but his tone sucked. Your tone is too thin and brittle, not fat enough. Think about each note as an expression of what you feel inside. Like an inner voice. You play good for your age and I wish you all the best. The smiling is a little too much, it comes across as insincere. Kind of like a beauty pageant smile. Show bands in Vegas do that smiley stuff for tourists
