Had to be the scariest show when I was a kid. Everyone who remembers those days knows the atmosphere Rod Serling brought to everything. It's that famous voice above all that gets you riveted for something uncomfortably peculiar. Not many guys had that kind of talent. It stands to reason that Serling is undeniably right up there with Vincent Price, Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock and a few others for setting up a chiller.
Ah, "Grampa Walton". You went from selling caskets to selling ARBY'S sandwiches. And sometime in between you were in a Disney flick with Michael Douglas, Jody Foster and Johnny Whitaker--and a big ol' lion. Long "live" Will Geer.
Ok, call me crazy, but I am sure that damn cat scenes and the ambulance stuff were putted there for padding and thus this episode it´s the ¨The Sixth Sense¨ version crap, I guess for the fact that the cat scenes had music on it and were repeated senselessly , but still I never had the chance to see this episode , so Thanx for Uploading it!!
Will G.'s folksiness makes the horror even more terrerfying--country irony, if you will!! "all these good folks getting a rare old bargain!" ha, ha

Character actor Slim Pickens was a regular in Sam Peckinpah's films. Note the headline in the newspaper (and the reference in part two).

Will Geer!! Extremely low key, under-rated, has finesse, and commands the stage.

I absolutely loved this show. A nerdy thing, no doubt, in high school but it was such a great watch.

The grand dad from the Walton's. That Sherriffs in another show too. Maybe he was a cop on Dukes 0f Hazzard.
