This is why Leave It To Beaver is still remembered and loved, while few sitcoms since have stood the test of time. The entire series is coming out on DVD this summer and I can't wait! God bless you, Barbara!
What a marvelous, sharp and delightful lady. I've always read that until the 70's, actors were only paid for the first 5 reruns, and that residuals were not what they are now...so I'm unsure of her "millions", as someone noted. I think perhaps she also married well, or invested well.
This is a woman with true class. Witty, intelligent, sweet, humble, gentle, kind & sassy. A real lady....and a talented actress. Perfectly cast as June Cleaver. And she looks wonderful here! Thank you very much for sharing this informative & entertaining footage with us!
She looks better than most 50 60 70 and 80 year olds out here. Money can keep you looking good and alive and trust me this woman dont have to worry about any financial problems. the onley thing she has to worry about is where she gonna put her next 100 million dollars load at.... Why because every time tv corporation play those reruns they have to pay her.... and damn it they been playing for 50 F*&^%%$# years,
I remember hearing Donna Reed talk about Barbara many years before she (Donna) died, and she remarked what a wonderfully gracious woman Barbara is, yet with a delightful sense of humor. Donna and Barbara were good friends since the '50's until Donna died. Two very lovely ladies.
I'm impressed by how strong her voice is for her age. Also, I would have predicted her to be in her early 60's had I not known she was in her mid 80s. I saw a more recent interview with her at the age of 91 w/ cast members from Leave it to Beaver.
What a gracious person! Even after all these years she portrays this powerful presence. She is very articulate and charming which is a rarety in people her age. Most old people I know are very forgetfull and bitter. It is great to see her and doing well. It seems as if her life was very "Leave it to Beaver" how her mom used to take her to the movies, wasn't afffected by the Depression. Even when she describes her divorce it seems just in passing she sees the good in life. Kudos to her!!!!
she looks sooo good for her age eh?? It's amazing... but she still wears those pearls because of a whole in her neck?? I love Leave it To Beaver, she is the ultimate mother
she looks very good. A classy lady.

Yep, it's hard to believe that The Beaver's mother would go on to become one of the most esteemed Ebonics translators of our times!!

If you think "Desperate Housewives" was risque. I was watching
"Leave it to Beaver" the other day when June told Ward Cleaver,
"Ward, you were a little hard on the Beaver last night." Ward looked
proud.
