  • The only man I know that could get away with wearing black leather back in 1968!!! Nobody since has had the combination of SEX appeal and talent like Elvis did. NOBODY!!! Can I get an amen to that???!!!

  • ELVIS FOREVER...how i love his amazing SMILE!!!

  • Man that was so good I had to watch it again

  • Elvis will forever be #1

  • 123,025 views, 330 likes and 0 dislikes. Only Elvis.

  • @EpochInEpitaph

Dammit! Now some deadbeat is going to read your comment and dislike the video.

  • @EpochInEpitaph Mother of God..

  • never never never get tired of it !!! <3

  • They did this for a tv special so there were several shows all nearly the same but different, theres another version of lawdy miss clawdy nearly identical to this one except he starts it out dif, he starts with wellll, but man he hangs it out there and that version is the best one, man that mother could sing!!!!!!!!!

  • amo de paixao muito demais

  • Who nowadays can sing like this? Pure genius. Just got back from vegas and saw viva elvis great show if like me you were to young to see him live

  • God I miss him, I was young in 70's when I finally got to see him in person in 1973, he was soooo awesome...was the king, is the kind and will always be the king..there isnt a singer on this earth that could touch him and I doubt ever will, Elvis was truly one of a kind, that type only comes around once in a lifetime ...resar dude, you can rest now

  • WHEN YOU SEE him those last 2 1/2 - 3 yrs, you can tell his kidneys were starting to shut down on him, and as a hear patient myself, u can see (if u know what ur looking for) the signs of his heart disease is growing full blast, had he been on heart meds, large amount of lasix, some dyalisis, he could have gotten better and gone on, but he IS NOT FAT, HE'S BLOATED, this happenes with heart and liver, renial failure, no one helped him tho

  • What really really pisses me off if that no one around him had the GUTS, or enough love to tell HIM NO...and stick with it. this Special, look at him? he was at the top of his game and with each yr he only got better with age. He has another 10-20 yrs ahead of him, maybe he really didn't want to get old, but we all have to do this. HE WAS THE BEST AND ALWAYS WILL BE, NO ONE CAN TOUCH HIM...EVER

  • Este cara era demais!!!

  • I am a man, a straight man, yet if you brought '68 Elvis' in, i would go gay for him.

Ohh god. What's happening to me?! :L

  • Col. Parker, screwed EP over big time... I think that EP was just tired of trying to make everyone happy and his concerts alone were not like they was. EP biggest fear, was that he

was afraid that people wouldn't like him. He always tried to make people laugh. It kept him from embarrassing himself. He knew he made mistakes in his life, he wanted it to be just like every others normal, but his life style was by far normal...

  • Lawdy, Lawdy, Lawdy I'd love to have been able to help him and love him. Such a loss.

  • One King.Elvis.Fuck You Justin Biber!

  • "The world’s music and pop culture changed forever when the greatest performer of them all joined forces with the man who wrote the book on promotion. Elvis and Colonel Parker made history together. They also shared an abiding friendship that is often overlooked by the press and the general public.” --Elvis History .com

  • @TrueLight55 Sounds like True Light55 is president of the Colonel Tom Parker Fan Club. And likely the only member.

  • @fferocious Not true u silly blabberer. Those who knew Elvis know well the bond they had. Did you know that after Elvis' first Vegas show they met backstage and shared a long embrace and both cried. You know so little. You have bought into every recycled myth...originally spouted by who? who started these "stories" that turned into lore? Elvis was no victim. It might have appeared that way but it wasn't so. Elvis needed the Col in many many ways AND ALWAYS made the artistic decisions

  • EExcellent 10 stars

  • DAYUMMMMMMM

  • wouldve been kool to see him duet with Michael Jackson ,the king of rock and the king of pop

  • @kapules2010 yes!

  • God...he is so fine..

Why wasnt I born in that era?!

  • He set the bar really high. I think the other singers must have thought, "Oh sh*t... we have to compete with that?!"

  • Liitle Richard recorded "Baby What Do You Want me To Do" in 1966 and he was superb!

  • this is an awesomely cool video!

  • this is an awesomely fudgetapoloues video!

  • When I watched this as a kid I thought he was joking about his lip. But watching it again it seems like maybe he wasn't kidding. He felt a nervous twitch.

  • No matter what you or I think there isn't a road map through life. I just accept the fact that Elvis Presley's name will be know for eternity. Hindsight is always 20/20 . If you can't say anything good ......like the song says Don't say Anything at All. Thakyou thankyou verymuch.

  • This is legendery and fantastic but i have always wonder what would happen if he never left sun records and sam phillips.Sam himself said that everybody leaved me,,elvis, jerry lee johnny cash, roy orbison and so on.I think Elvis was the best on sun records hands down.

  • ¡¡es increible¡¡ creo que es peor que un vicio , no me canso de escucharlo ¿ a ustedes les pasa lo mismo ?

  • Muitoo bom - Very good!

  • love

  • The man had something more than most he was truly blessed. When we speak of perfection or raising the bar he is way above that. What puzzles me is why he never got recognition via awards specifically Grammies (spelling). I would love to see his contributions given the respect they deserve. Always nice to hear his voice see his face and feel his gentle spirit. He was one of a kind an American Icon that touched the heart of everyone.

  • On that night, Elvis reclaimed his throne and has kept it since.

Millions of fans were like: "Yeah, we got him back!!"

If it just hadn`t been for all those Hollywood years... Wonder what he would have done...

  • because I just touched by it. Love too. keu

  • If music could bleed this would be it.

  • I actually think that Elvis could have sat on a chair and just read the names in the phonebook and the audience would have been happy and listen carefully.

And sometimes some girl would scream out a little bit...

  • Elvis music makes me happy. It made him happy too. He just taught us to love music. He taught the world to love it as much as he did. He was the World's Music Man. I know what Lennon meant when he said "before Elvis there was nothing." There was music but Elvis brought music to life and infused it with a passion and energy and his unique genre influences...gospel, hillbilly, and R&B. That why the top scholars in the country (including The American Historical Assoc) say EP created a New Music.

  • of course elvis would not have gotten to this stage in his life without the colonol, Prisiclla should have kicked the colonol to the curb after this and I think she would have made a better manager, but that was a different time. I heard Barbra Streisand wanted him for her remake of a Star is Born, can u imagine how awesome that would have been. Love u E.

  • @Hairqween68 Elvis was already capturing the audiences and the attention of the execs. at RCA before the colonel came in to swoop him up. Sam Phillips was shopping Elvis around to the big labels. Elvis didn't even like Parker, but Vernon talked Elvis into keeping him. Elvis would have been bigger, had more hits, and made more money WITHOUT the colonel! The 70s would have been different. All the colonel did was drain Elvis. He didn't give a flip about Elvis. Elvis was just a meal ticket to him

  • i 'd sure like to know how he could curl that upper lip like he did!

  • This is the elvis when ,he is feeling realy good

I never stop love this guy

    Ilove you all my life

    tc

  • this is what rock n roll is all about ;;)

    legendary.X

  • Colonel Parker was the worst thing ever to happen to Elvis.

  • @ballynafeighbluedog Why are you saying that :) ?

  • @gigi876 elvis had so much more to give ,but col parker used elvis for his own selfish reasons.just my personal view.

  • @ballynafeighbluedog without Colonel Parker Elvis never bacame famous like he is now

  • @Jimmybalzak

Are you honestly saying that Elvis Presley wouldnt have made it big without the Colonel.

  • @ballynafeighbluedog not this famous like he is now , he would be famous. all those television special are thanks to Colonel Parker.

  • @Jimmybalzak Are you out of your mind?? Elvis would have had twice as many number ones and been twice as big. That idiot parker wanted Elvis to sing "Silent Night" instead of "If I Can Dream" as the last song in the special. Granted "Silent Night" is my favorite Christmas song, but Elvis stuck to his guns. Colonel was a leech and nothing good for Elvis. Elvis made it big before the colonel even came along. That's why Eddy Arnold fired him, cause he was a good for nothing leech.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Elvis loved the Colonel. They had their spats but the whole "Col controlled E's life" is totally false. Even a few "insiders" have made this clear. Truth is they needed each other and USUALLY agreed. E hated dealing with the business side, just HATED it. Elvis wrote the Col a personal note saying he was like a father to him. They both depended on one another. And E chose to keep making those formula movies b/c the ones w/o singing bombed &the $ was huge. He was THE top paid actor

  • @TrueLight55 Sir, if you believe that, then fine. I choose to believe the real facts about Elvis. I have been an Elvis fan for 33 years. I have read almost every book about Elvis, bought almost every record from Elvis and my parents were an authority on Elvis. I won't say how they were, but rest assured they knew many things about him that the general public does not. They, along with the Memphis Mafia knew and still does know what parker was. Good day.

  • @TrueLight55 One more thing....how many "managers" work their managing fee to 50% of the take? One did....and the leeches name was Parker. Look into any managers take and you will find as a general rule the fee is 10%...not half. Who would write out a contract on a table cloth for 5 years of Vegas performing for Elvis at half percentage? Answer, the leech Parker. As stated prior, Elvis was nothing but a meal ticket to that illegal alien. Case closed.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE No it isn't case closed. Stop seeing Elvis as a victim. No it wasn't fair from the outside looking in, but Elvis always saw it as a partnership, and equal partnership. Because Elvis knew nothing about business and hated everything to do with it. He left everything up to the Colonel to book concerts take care of all contract etc. For Elvis all of that effort accounted for half of his career. No one forced Elvis into any of that...and if you think so, you're just wrong.

  • @TrueLight55 I don't need you to tell me anything about Elvis and Parker. If you only knew.

lol....I could marginalize your statements with ease and proof, but I will instead just say that you're dimissed. Now you can write something somewhere that you actually know a little about. Have a nice life.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE I actually do know. Elvis stood up to The Colonel whenever he disagreed with him, which was RARE. Contrary to the myth that got started from a few comments by people close to him who misunderstood or were just stupid. Many will tell you Elvis was an equal in the relationship and had power all those years. Give me one instant where you think he didn't. and you'll be wrong. Don't be so bitter and angry my God. Elvis's fate was actually chosen by him every step of the way.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE And also surely there are positive things that took place between them that you don't even know about. And comments you've heard that have been skewed. Sometimes it requires a hard look at the dynamics of a relationship to truly understand it and not grab onto everything that has been tossed out there. You should be glad to know that was not a victim. He was however a victim of some of his own choices, and sadly certain circumstances that were beyond his control.

  • @TrueLight55 I don't need to grab onto anything that was lol "out there," Sonnybuck. You don't know what you're talking about nor who you are talking to. As I said earlier, you're dismissed and have a nice life.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Nice bully attempt. Name ONE time where Elvis was forced or coerced into something by The Colonel. Let's test you ABSOLUTELY KNOW HOW. I am not talking about the last years when Elvis was way too drugged to think straight. The last years are not as simple as you think. People say Elvis was sick and The Col was driving him. What you don't know is that Elvis wanted to be out there as bad or worse than the Col. They were a IRON CLAD team from the start with the same goal. So try me.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Finally, did they ever fight? Yes, in virtually every serious relationship there are those times when emotions are high & people can't see eye to eye. Especially with things as charged as what they were dealing with. And Elvis was reactive in the later years too...he did blow his stack, hell he even shot at tvs. Elvis was a great man. Elvis was actually a strong man, not a weak one. And Elvis was not victimized. His life sadly unraveled for various reasons. Take care.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE In the last years Elvis was truly a "ship going down" and neither wanted that to happen, believe me. And he wasnt going down because of the Colonel, but you can believe that if you want to.

  • @ballynafeighbluedog actually that's one thing i have to agree on. in his early years Elvis might not have made it big like he did without the colonel. but even with that being said, parker almmost destroyed Elvis' career with all those crap movies and no live appearences. but then again. if parker saw Elvis' potential then maybe another manager would too and Elvis would have got just as big.

  • @ballynafeighbluedog Well Elvis didn't think so. He honestly felt that the Col was hugely responsible for his career, when he took charge of the business side of things, which Elvis clearly stated he could not do. Plus he hated the business side. So it was a team effort/career all along. Yes EP had the talent but he didn't feel he'd have a career w/o the Col (mastermind of sorts). EP use to laugh at how the Col would push photo sales individually to everyone in the audience.

  • @ballynafeighbluedog hell yea selfish greedy ass sum'bitch

  • this was elvis first tv special 1968. it proved he wasnt washed up. it was almost sabbatoged by colonel parker who wanted it to be a christmas special. fortunately elvis didnt listen to colonel. cstanchik

  • @CSTANCHIK FYI u cannot simply listen to what has been said and repeated..the truth is many times E did not agree with Col and did it his way. And truth is they usually agreed. One ex. the Col was adamant that E's voice should be louder on his recordings and Elvis always held firm against this. Once the Col. went behind his back and altered a finished recording (making E's voice louder) and let's just say he never "tampered" again. The movies were not the Col fault. Hollywood chose the formula.

  • @CSTANCHIK Unfortunately Elvis was loyal and listened to the Colonel when he advised against going on tour in Europe and told him to go to Vegas instead...The King was worth so much more than that

  • @CSTANCHIK You're right he didn't. :) the whole Elvis always listened to the Col is overblown BS. Many times he didn't. Elvis relied on the Col for business decisions most of the time b/c he hated the bus. side of things. One good example EP often rejected the Col's wishes was the Col hated that Elvis's voice was not very loud in recordings, but E believed the vocal should not stand out. One time the Col went behind E's back and upped his vocals on a recording...it was the last time!!

  • This version was in the CBS Mini = )

serious of Elvis: 2005 Part 2 Film of

his life. Stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers!
