I've been a Sharks fan since I was 5 (2000) and I wanted to be just like Owen Nolan when I grew up. I remember my dad taking me to a game and I was only separated from him by the plexiglas. He looked at me and I was in total awe. I must have cried for an hour when he got traded to Toronto.
Buster will forever be, my reason for becoming a San Jose fan. Here's hoping the Sharks bring him in for this year, if anything to give him a chance to retire at home.

I thought he was all but done when he started having issues in SJ in the 2002-03 season and requested a trade to Toronto, and his form slumped after that, then he went to Phoenix, Calgary, and Minnesota. As a Stars fan, I never really liked him since his cheap elbow on Grant Marshall in 2000-01, but he was a solid player, just a little rash and stupid like Bertuzzi. Thankfully, that Grant Marshall incident didn't end up like Steve Moore's.
The team the Sharks had with Nolan, Damphouse, Ricci, Sturm, Friesen, and Stuart, is the team that every Sharks fan remembers. I was only like 10 and I remember going to a playoff game against the blues when they had the big rivalry with them. Nolan would be huge for the Sharks now.

Nolan was TRADED to Toronto in 2003 before the lockout. He still owns some businesses in the SJ area (Bar or restaurant I believe). He is still a part of San Jose.
