Are you crazy or ignorant? #5- Sellers don't pay the realtor's commission. Realtors are experts in marketing homes and bringing sellers in by listing in the MLS and bringing it to the attention of 100's of buyers. Also if you want to go for a short sale prior to foreclosure, the banks want it listed with a realtor to make sure that it has been marketed. Do everyone a service and be honest not dramatic.

@whoptdo, thank you! I completely agree with you - REALTORS are the experts of marketing and finding buyers. However, a listing is rarely needed for a short sale when a seller finds a buyer on his/her own (FSBO short sales are quite common & how most of ours are done)

The point of the video was to explain the risks that are out there. I'm sure you'd agree that having the right REALTOR is not a risk, neither is having the right buyer - but having the wrong one of either is only going to hurt.

I paid a Law office $3000 in upfront fees to do a loan modification and they didn't do anything. I gave them all the paperwork they asked for. 6 months later I found out that I am in foreclosure. They didn't submit the paperwork until I told them I was in foreclosure. I kept on top of them, they said that they were talking with my lender the whole time. I am screwed.
