  • @JosephKuby: Yeah, Marcella just SUCKED!

  • So F**ing EXCELLENT... I especially love the line "And all the pretty people that I used to see have died or moved away or they're in recovery" - classic Siobhan sarcastic humour! If you like this, but the record, for goodness' sake. It's called "#3" and every song on it rules...

  • deary me

  • I would definitely picture David Bowie singing this. But only Siobhan OWNS it!

  • She looks like Lea Michele.

  • I've uploaded a HQ version of this video, and all other Shakespears Sister videos - check my channel.

  • Wow!!!! I feel like I've rediscovered an old friend!! "Shakespears Sister" rocks!!!!

  • just another beatles track with her voice over it.....

  • Totally fuckable narly!!

  • Surprisingly good track! Would sound awesome live.

  • All the young dudes (by Mott the hoople)...

  • @harkonnen80 first thought as i heard the beginning was: bowie ;o)

  • STONE COLD FOX!

  • i like this :)

  • love her style

  • my goosh i love her!!!

  • shee looks like rachel 4om glee

  • Siobhan Fahey.....nuff said...!!

  • This is so much better than the 80s / Dave Stewart stuff ( though , I 'll admit to liking Hello and Goodbye Cruel World ) , Siobhan is better off as a rocker .

  • all the young dudes

  • @irishdan1000

You're so right! I was trying to remember the title of this song to post it!!

  • Siobahn is really hot n sexy but shes not much without Marcella vocally. No offence, I love Siobahn and shes a great writer but vocally, shes better off in either a group or a duet. She should have stuck with Marcella.

  • My uncle is the bass player in this video / on that record hahaha.

  • i love shakespear's sister

and this song is the soundtrack to my life

i love how feminist they are :)

    that voice is so sexy

  • @funnygirl100heyjude I stopped reading newspapers and watching TV due to feminist propaganda

I mean you get women on tv and in the papers saying they hate men and women are superior and men are useless .. don't these women have fathers , sons , brothers or male friends? they are saying we hate men so they hate there own sons/kids ..women like this should have kids removed from them straight away!!! women now are like bigots who bullied black people in the 60's

    feminism is the new racism

  • @Hope111ification really? i never saw it that way,

anyways, i am a self-proclaimed feminist: i love men AND women

    i believe in equality

and alot of the stuff I see in the media involves women being portrayed as bitchy cheerleaders or only caring about how much cleavage they can expose,

of course i don't agree with that,

but i don't think feminism is an excuse to act irrational and shit-talk men,

society needs more strong women, for sure.

by the way, out of interest, are youfemale?

  • come to shakespearssister.co.uk

  • Dude, Siobhan Fahey is a fame monger... She couldn't handle the fact that Marcella made Shakespear's sister listenable. Marcella was like fergie, revamping a dying group. Now they're just old and no one cares...

  • Clearly, Siobhan is an artist that continues to evolve. She has had many different looks and singing styles and yet they are all authentically her. Guess that makes her versatile and that's why she has managed to survive in the music industry so long. It is said she can be difficult to work with, but I put that down to artistic integrity...she knows what appeals to her audience when others don't.

  • wow i couldnt believe that, that was her she looks so pretty without all that make up on but she looks good always

  • One of my favourite songs ever! Anyone got the chords?

  • i hate that fucking alanis morrisette copy. she is finer.

  • @vampire176 erm this was recorded by SF before Jagged Little Pill had been released

  • Siobhan has had it hard, particularly from the music press, which chose early on to write her off. And with Shakespears Sister, Marcella was the darling, what with here rock/pop CV and her vocal range. But Shakespears Sister without Marcella is just dandy - it is rougher, but also more charming. Fahey has a uniqueness, and a very interesting smokey quality to her voice. And anyway, did Detroit's career go anywhere much after the split?

  • I love her

  • great perforfance her solo work is awsome.

  • It sounds like All the young dudes by Bowie !!! Exactly the same melody !!

  • I don't like her style now...is so normal :S

  • wait who is that.....she looks normal....i dont remember anyone normal in shakespears sister...lmfaooooo

  • What a weak crap..!!! What happened with older style?! Oo :/

  • It's a shame that Siobhan and Marcella couldn't work things out as I thought that artistically it was a marriage made in heaven; sometimes people should put their personal shit to one side and do something for the good of the Big Picture!

Just think of all the other great groups where "artistic differences" as well as personal have added some extra spice to the music....

  • Love this! All I can hear is Ziggy Stardust..there is a real play on some of his lyrics...genius!

  • glad the other women is outa the picture siobhan fahey so much better on her own

  • she looks fucking great!

  • i love siobhan fahey she is so brilliant!

  • typical 1996 ...that's britpop ...i mean it's rock ...but a sound typical from the britpop scene... with some violin and a sort of trumpet... this is a typical mid 90s hommage to the swingin london 67-68 era... but the whole britpop was a little bit nostalgia... but there's a darker edge here too...i can feel that in the way that she moves and she sings ...she really lived in the late 70s punk scene... she was already livin' the rock n roll way of life since at least the mid 70s... so respect...

  • i do them both at the same time.

  • We digs.

  • Siobhan is far more shaggable.

  • @sayah64, indeed. :d :q :p :b

  • Siobhan Fahey is beautiful!

  • reminds me of choirgirl era tori amos

  • Amazing song!

  • Most people have got this wrong SS was a great band / Duo but it was Dave Stewart who produced and wrote most of there music. you just have to listen to the production of there songs , And of course he was the partner to miss Fahey. and almost certainly pulled all the strings

  • agreed but they were a collabaration, he needs a female to work his music, siobhan has great talent and her new album is best she has done and its without dave stewart, i prefer her work to annie lennoxs, the best work he did was withher so lets give siobhan the credit she deserves.

behind every great man, there is a great woman

  • again i hear this saying that behind every great man is a great woman . i for one think it's very true. siobhan has came along way since her days with bananrama who were formed as a bit of a joke and went massive.. good to hear the views of a true music lover

  • hehehe strange xD i know this song but i didn't seen that vid and didn't know Siobhan made that without Marcella ....... i was surprised Its like in the info of this clip ".........it sure does sound like her on backing"

  • No good with out Marcella, If Marcella had have been involved with this Album 3 they would have been massive. They were on the verge of becoming huge.

  • Agreed. They split at the worst possible moment in their careers. They both had huge egos, something that usually leads to demise ...

  • Actually, not so much. Marcella released a solo album called Jewel shortly after they split. It was extremely adult contemporary. Nothing at all like what Siobhan is into.

  • the only reason i watched this vid is because i was watching stay by CoF and i saw that the original song was by shakespears sister, so ive been looking throught their vids. just wondering, why did this Marcella person leave? what happened?

  • until i see her and amanda donohoe in the same place, i iwll remain convinced that they are the same person :)

  • crap ;(

  • I really like that song, totally different from old SS but its not a problem.I can listen this song 10 times a day.Congrat,go on please

  • SS WAS Siobhan...Marcella was baggage

  • has always been, and always will!

  • @chevgr, Marcella was window-dressing. ;-)

  • so proud of my relative =)

  • so muss popmusik sein.einfach geil.

  • england sux

  • i really love her style and her singing! another reason why i'm jealous of london, england! LOL

  • Diehard shuv fan here, saying thx 4 posting! London records screwed Our Ms. Fahey for years b4 she finally got rights to "#3" - the best S-Sister album ever. That record co exec must have been a real turd.

  • pete tong

  • awsome video.vioce brilliant performance

  • just brilliant as ever.

  • None of that made any sense. Just because a song resembles the works of an earlier artist, that doesn't mean that it's direct-copy -- ergo, there is nothing to sue for.

  • She look great here! YEAHH Siobhan!!

  • oh my goodness me what a lot of crotch shots we have here. Not that that is a bad thing!

  • It's clearly Ziggy/Mott the Hoople-meets-Beatles, but I still dig it.

And it's not like Bowie was above a little musical thievery himself!

  • Mott the Hoople was the first thing that came to mind when I heard this...word.

  • Ziggy was Bowie!, Just a alter ego, Hey it was the 1970's .

  • It just goes to show you can't be too careful!

  • Great song to sing along to it is

    Thank you.

  • what year is this? when was this video shot?

  • around April 1996 I believe

  • shes so sexy and interesting

  • Have you seen her interview ?? Today she is 52 and still look like HOT chick !!!!

    she is real sexy !

  • Siobhan at her best. Fantastic !

  • She's gorgeous as always!

  • So beautiful and great performer^^

  • "All the young doods... carry the news..."

  • yeah i know... this ripoff is just soul-crushing

  • She looks better w/out all the crap on her face.

  • do not think so - she is nice in any way - with crap or without!

  • great song from the album #3, the best album of all three.

  • Sorry i mean Ziggy stardust.

  • Great but this track kinda reminds me of David Bowie's Spiders From Mars, One of the best female bands ever.

  • do u mean "all the young dudes"? it does have a resembalance i admit. she was obv listening to a lot of Bowie at the time :-o

  • It's more than a resemblance, I'm afraid. Pity.

  • Beautiful in her late fortys!!!

By the way, i love her as a Bananarama member too.

  • GLAM ROCK LIVES!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song, and I love Siobhan. She looks more beautiful here with less make-up and her straight hair than she did in the other SS videos, which I didn't think was possible as she was absolutely stunning then!

  • what album is this song on, its so great.

  • It is from Shakespears Sister 3

  • London records (Pete Tong) refused to release the brilliant album...it was released independently years later

  • Where was it released and when?

  • was released by Siobhan on the internet about 5? years ago

  • Addictive and hypnotic.

  • i want some girl like you,SIOBHAN.

  • Goodness, I've fallen in love with this song...

  • The melody sounds quite a bit like "all the young dudes".

  • Could have hit the charts.

  • # 30 in UK only ((((

  • siobhan fahey always was hot !

in this video she is the most sexiest of all of the videos

  • oh this song is without MARCELLA LEVY why ??

    i loved them together

  • dose anyone knoe what album this is on, like were there many songs after Marcella left like was there an album and if so where can i get it ive looked at record stores, i acually like this song allot.

  • it's on the album Shakepears Sister - #3 from 2005

  • I love SF, but I wish that she would stop doing the 'electro' music and return to songs like "Hello" and the like.

  • i don't know why i like it, but i do!

  • Doesn't this song sound a lot like "All the Young Dudes" -- the glam rock anthem written by Bowie, recorded by Matt the Hoople? It does to me.

  • YES and thank you because I drove myself crazy trying to figure that out! The horns throw in a little bit of a Beatle sound, but it's definitely Bowie. I kept thinking it must be a remake of something...

  • There is definitely a dash of Sgt. Pepper, but it REALLY sounds like All the Young Dudes! And it's Mott the Hoople -- not Matt. I'm a crappy typist!

  • Im sure that is intentional... she's always been a glam baby lover... a tribute and a turnabout all in one..

  • siobahn is awesome, does she still perform

or still in the music scene now I hope she

banarama the other girls have gone into poppy

    dance techno songs..

  • oh wow she's difrent huh

  • Siobhan is awesome=)

  • Did this song, or any other SS w/o Marcella songs, do very well? Or did the whole concept of SS meet its demise shortly after this?

  • This was the only Shakespears Sister "hit" without Marcella, reaching no.30 in the UK charts.

  • It isn't a bad song, it just is so very different in style from other SS stuff. Pseudo-grungy, but not quite... Not horrible, not great.

  • Yeah.. theres a song called 'Opportunity Knockers' on the #3 album that is classic.. actually there are several other songs that would have been excellent singles in the UK or the US.. I think there was a major releasing problem with this album though... something tied up in the record contract that kept this from getting released for like 7 or 10 years or something... pretty sure it was supposed to be released right after 'Hormonally Yours'.......

  • yes, another song, 'Excuse Me John' is also great. Such a shame it wasn't released when it should have been.

  • wow we all know who the talent of banannarama was, were did those other two girls go lol.

  • Not nearly as good as previous SS's stuff. Has a very weird Sargeant Pepper meets grunge sound!

  • Yeah its awful compaired to the older stuff with marcy...

  • is it just me or dose this remind anyone else of the last Tears For Fears cd.

  • What album is this from its so great, please i need to buy this.

  • great song and video i had no idea this song existed where is the other girl. is there athird album.

  • The third album is called "#3"... LOVE it!!!! and though Shuv recorded it without Marcy, you feel her presence there in every single song :-), you'll know what I mean.....

  • oh my god i am so excited to get it that you so much.

  • err...no....Marcy wasnt there as you say ...so what presence ?

  • I thought the person was referring to the lyrics "the king is dead, long live the queen." I'm the center of attention now! No competition! Or not...

  • ...such a shame, she has been underground for the last while.....an unrivalled talent

  • I am in love.

  • she is beautiful. I liked them when I was 12 (in 92) but was only exposed to "stay" and "i dont care" so now I'm playing catch up. :)

  • sweet mother of god this video KICKS EVERY FORM OF ASS! Luv the Shuv!!!

  • Jim2jac sent me .... great lyrics ,great song ,great performance too : )

    Billy .....xx

  • I love Siobhan!!!!! Great music, great look.....just fucking love her!!!!

  • wonderful, wild and sexy Siobhan <3

  • ^5's to both of you, lol I LOVE it!! :)

  • OMG, siobian looks so young eventhough this was after marci's departure. i think the video should have featured siobian driving a car running people over!

  • I like that idea too........ ^5

  • Hey duncanthegreathall, I'm seconding jim2jac's sentiment. Your idea 'bout Siobhan running people over(Drive)is a BRILLIANT Youtube video in waiting. I saw it in my mind! We all know the S.S. drama/history, especially Ms. Fahey's phukked days on every alcohol/drug known to man. Break out that freak'in camera man!........OR I WILL BITCH!

  • even better she could run down her ex-band mates from Bananarama, they always thought shakespeares sisters songs were about them, it could easily prove them right

  • or..... someone should right another song called I Can Drive, it could be about a driving instructor and a student, the chorus should have an opera singer sining something like, " oh do be quiet your boring my pants off, il drove thru that red light coz i fuckin well wanted to"

  • why is she wearing mom jeans?

  • cuz shes sexy no matter what she wears, and she prolly loves jeans. :)

  • Excellent Video. Thanks For Posting.

  • Nice jam...prefer my Siobahn in 'couture' though.

  • Siobhan is AWESOME, she rocks. thanks for posting :)

  • miss ya marce.

  • This was good, anyone heard BAD BLOOD, one of the most shit hot songs ever, better with Marcy tho :-)

  • i aggree with INCREASEco2 on all komments!

  • So much better when they were together. On a side note, women, actually, can't drive...

  • I pretty much liked SS whan they were both together. I do like Siobhan's solo stuff. But SS was so much better when it was both Siobhan and Marcela. But I guess the point is mute now.

  • Where is Marcy? I can't stand Siobhan's voice.

  • What are you smoking? Siobhan's voice isn't close to Marcela Detroit. It's just not the same without Marcela. Dude...you either high or thinking of BANANARAMA...of course Siobhan was a member of that group too.

  • CHERSTARS: You are Mistaken. THIS CLIP RULES! SIOBHAN RULES! "La Fahey" MADE Shakespear's Sister what it was. btw: STAY=Crap and MARCY=Superego/No-Talent!

  • What kind of a stupid, juvenile comment is this????

  • Other girl had much better voice, this girl sucks

  • I used to love this when i was little, used to get dead giddy.

  • I don't really like this song ,probably because Shakespear's Sister wasn't the same after Marcella left ,the chemistry and fun were gone that made them so good as a group ,i heard Marcella's solo album and is was the same as this effort ..rather bland .

I hope the two girls hook up again for a reunion or do what Duran Duran did and try to get thier original line back back and record and tour .

  • the band tried to survive after the departure of coleader Miss Detroit... and clearly it dont work... its not bad...but in the Britpop years the band tried to sound too much as Oasis...they will split soon after...

  • this was released in 1996 and included on the delayed \3 album in 2005

  • Never heard this song b4, great , just great!

  • She's pretty cool

  • shes still hot ^_^

  • She is like Avril lavigne or Fiona Apple in this... What's the deal? The song sounds like Tears for Fears. I like it though tee hee
