Good for you. Each to their own. This is what America is about, choice sir, that's it, choice. Oh by the way, I'm a Teamster, and a Vietnam vet. I like Harley and I like Yamaha. I don't knock American, Asian, or European bikes. They all have their pros and cons, it's up to the individual's preference. I prefer Yamaha. Maybe you should do a little research, you will likely find that component on a Harley that was made in china, lol.
I have a '07 Roadliner Midnight, with a "Power Commander" and a set of "Cobra Longs", I had Harleys , Triumphs, Nortons, BSAs, then all the Hot Rod Jap bikes, This is my first "Cruiser", in a long time, after riding my ZX-11 with upgrades for years, I was interested in something that could ride two up, still accelerate hard and stop quickly, after riding my son's '05 Fatboy, a 96" Electraglide Classic HD, a 2050 cc Kaw Vulcan, I rode the Roadliner, and bought it:-) It rocks!
@yodablues I have two, a 2008 Street Glide highly modified, and a Stage II 2004 XL1200C Sportster. I don't work on them other than maintenance. Fact is people buy the others due to price, and miss information. The new Harleys will outrun the other brands in class and performance in the cruiser and touring lines. My brother in law had a 1800 Gold Wing bragged on how reliable it was and how it performed. After a 1000 mile ride with me and my brother he sold the Wing and is getting a Harley.
You kind of ignored the second part of my comment there. I don't care what anyone rides, I can't stand retarded brand loyalty idiots who feel the need to justify their choice in motorcycle by putting down any brand that isn't a goddamn Harley. Harley's are beautiful machines; Star's a beautiful machines; Honda's are beautiful machines, etc etc. If I had the means, I'd own a Street glide, a Road Star and a VTX.
@StreetGlideBad103 maybe some people want reliability and power and not follow the crowd like lost sheep? I am not knocking HD. To me Ultra Classic Electra Glide is one of the most beautiful bikes i have ever seen, but you put that up against K 1600 GTL and it doesn't stand much of a chance in terms of power or reliability if you notice the bikes with the highest miles on them are Bmw.
@larasa007 Yeah right I want a bike that looks like you bolted some steel boxes to the side. As far as reliability and performance. I do not know where you get your information but Harley is not made by AMF anymore and they do not have the issues that they used to. Maybe you should stop in at a dealer and take a CVO for a ride. Not to mention they are Union made in the USA. I am proud to support a brother Union worker. I also drive a Ford, a Toyota and a Polaris all made Union proud right here
I have a 2006 Roadstar Midnight Silverado, great bike by the way, but my next will be either this or Victory Cross Country. Harleys are ok, I really like CVO St Glide, but it waaaaaaaay overpriced for what you get @36k. The motor is the key point for me, this bike is standard with 113 ci displacement, I dont listen to the radio - strictly ipod mp3 so that doesnt matter to me anyway. To each his own though.
No this is not a Harley.Harleys dont come anywhere near to the power of the 113 inch Strat Roadliner. And as for dependabilty and reliablity? well its a Star!!
Harley wishes they had a bike this nice!! I have a 2006 Strat with fairing, luggage trunk, painted bags, and a shitload of extra chrome...looks 10x better than any Harley Ultra Classic and has WAY more power!
@jayleav I don't see any similarity to HD,, the curves are all different, the bags are not straight edged, it's way longer than a hog,, the pipes are on one side,, the engine looks nothing like a hog,, it sounds nothing like a hog,, it does have two wheels but hog can't claim that as exclusive design.
Can someone tell me who the rep from yamaha is or how I can get in touch with him. I want/need those passing lamps, but yamaha doesn't list them for the deluxe, so no one will sell them to me.
Absolutely gorgeous! Too bad there are none around but at least there on the way maybe next year? and by then the production games will be gone and we wont have to pay MSRP! A Great bike and now its even better. FYI Victory's are JUNK I know I work on them...
MSRP is very close to Victory's cross roads and Cross Country. I own an '07 Stratoliner and it is an amzing bike, but I didn't pay anywhere near MSRP and unless the Yamaha/Star dealers are negotiating they are going to lose buyers to Vic. That said, Honda East in Toledo has the Deluxe for $14,999 on Cylce Trader.
I wanted an air cooled v-twin Harley but ended up buying this bike a year ago and I'm glad I did. The price/performance is the best.

Why would you buy a Harley look alike? Just buy a Harley!

Because some of us like to spend more time riding and less time fixing our bikes.
Seriously, who cares what you ride, just ride.

If they put HD on the tank, that would add another $10K to the price..HA HA!

@wavingmoon No more then that 15,000 more and then you can dress like a pirate and smell.

It would be wonderful if they were also the 1300cc version
The gas here is at € 1.40 per liter --------- 7, $ 30 per gallon
