We have advanced above all other life greedily and consume everything in our evolving path. Another thing. We are subconciously being forced to hate each other. How? Border control and weapons. The human kind may be more complex than other beings on this planet, but we're still pack living mamals with fundamental drives and instincts. We may not be all drives and instincts as with lower beings, but nontheless this shapes us into who we are. So we are indeed animals, albeit very refined ones.

New Thought is doing a good job transforming large numbers of the population from predators to prey. More laws will restrain the predators and the prey will enjoy safety in numbers. This isn't a good or bad thing. It's just a change.

The reason we think of this as Buddhist would be these philosophical ideas was preserved in the Orient where people still lived in pretty harmonious tribes or tight communities. In my opinion, this film uses a lot of bias science to create a more pleasing and comfortable ''truth'' than the one that might actually be out there. I think the director set out to make a feel good documentary, and there is noting wrong with that! But I also think that using science as a means to accomplish this is the WRONG THING TO DO. I don' think this film proves that we are inherently good. I think it proves that we inherently seek comfort.
I saw only one or two sick, negative, dismal comments. Money and material power will no longer prevail while there are still morsels of organic seeds left for we out number "them" with our positive, collective thought. Collective thoughts of love, charity, oneness, togetherness will prevail and as you can see collective intelligence to make positive changes in health etc., Demand organic.
A contrarian perspective: If this is about human truth then why does it need to be packaged as feel good propaganda; Hallmark images of a flower opening, smiling children and birds in flight, trite expressions like “today’s significant minds” and the rising symphonic score superficialize and undermine the intended message.

I am at my best and most happy when I am helping others. I feel the desire to comfort a person I see in distress or talk to someone walking by me. I felt this world is too cruel for me. It is in our DNA, mirror neurons interconnect all human beings. We are living contrary to what biology intended. Darwin mentioned survival of the fittest twice and love ninety five times. Darwin said reconciliation, sympathy, empathy and other basic motivations is what draws human society together. Lets be one!

maybe it's just me... but i never get excited for films like this. they all cover the same stuff and never hit me in new profound ways. it just reiterates whatever i heard from the last movie with a similar premise. don't get me wrong, i'm still gonna see this film and i'm sure it'll be amazing, but it's too existential ("why are we here" and "what is the meaning of life") and that just doesn't ever hit home to me. wish i could say better but, that's just my feeling on these sort of films :/

maybe it's just me... but i never get excited for films like this. they all cover the same stuff and never hit me in new profound ways. it just reiterates whatever i heard from the last movie with a similar premise. don't get me wrong, i'm still gonna see this film and i'm sure it'll be amazing, but it's too existential ("why are we here" and "what is the meaning of life") and that just doesn't ever hit home to me. wish i could say better but, that's just my feeling on these sort of films :/

I believe this is what 2012 is about. A new beginning. A new state of mind. It’s happening already and accelerating. More and more people are waking up. In order for real change we need to take this to the next level, and ACT on our beliefs. We need a global mediation day in 2012.
