  • nice, i did a pretty close clone, let me k now what you used, let's share!

  • @epicbeerdude Hey Dude! It's an all grain recipe that turned out to be fantastic. VERY close to Black Butte. We had a huge party yesterday and it got rave reviews. I'll send you the recipe if you want it. It calls for Wyeast 1318 London Ale Yeast but I had Wyeast 1056 American Ale in my freezer from a previous batch of IPA and got a strong starter going the day before.

  • have you sampled them yet? I started my extract clone of Butte on June 10th and racked to secondary on the 17th, I used European ale yeast 1338, which one did you use London ale yeast? That one on the right is super active.

  • @SumiTheMeow The recipe called for 1318 London Ale Yeast but I made a 2 liter starter from Wyeast 1956 that I'd saved/frozen from a batch of IPA I made a few weeks previously. This turned out to be an excellent version of Black Butte. The OG was 1.058 (5 points above target) and FG 1.013 for an ABV of 5.91%. I brewed this batch on June 1 and it was finished on the 10th. It's been in kegs since then and tastes outstanding. I'll make it again. How did yours turn out?
