How can I tell if the tingling I am feeling is due to a pinched nerve or a circulatory problem? It feels as though my hands go to sleep when I am driving (holding the steering wheel) or holding a cup of coffee.. or sleeping. I do have a tight neck so a pinched nerve is definitely an option... but how can I tell the difference between the two?? Thanks for your video!!
Thanks for the advice, and while I am by no means making a self diagnosis, it would be my best guess that I do in fact have a pinched nerve in my neck. The pain radiates from my neck, down to my shoulder, down the back of my arm, through my tricep and onto the back of my forearm. My father is a Chiropractor back home, but since I'm away at college he has recommended me to a colleague of his in a nearby area. My injury is the result of intense body building and training I"ve done at UCF.
DOC! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS VID. IT REALLY GIVES ME HOPE FOR AN EASY RECOVERY FROM WHAT IS SETTING ME BACK FROM LIVING MY LIFE! I HAVE VISITED A ORTHO SPECIALIST, WHICH WAS ALL BUT A WASTE TO ME. IS AN MRI NESSESARY TO DIAGNOSE THE NUMBNESS AND PAIN IDENTICALLY WHERE YOU SHOW! TO A TEE! IT'S LIKE YOU JUST SAW ME AND TALKED ABOUT IT ON THIS VID. THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS, YOU GIVE ME HOPE TO GET BACK TO MY LIFE.
What about a pinched nerve going into the occipital and trigeminal regions? I have C-5/C-6 bulging disc. Can this possibly be the cause of my occipital neuralgia and trigeminal neuralgia? I have C-2 Neurostimulator. I have had C-3 microdecompression neurosurgery for Occipital Neualgia. I am in chronic severe pain. Don't know how long I can "hold on".
I have all the symptoms of a pinched nerve, however I dont feel shooting pain in my arms..... I do feel headaches and very tense neck and upper back, lots of trigger points.... can u help me?
It looks like your spine model has scoliosis.

@AnotherMime I am not a doc, but from my understanding occipital neuralgia comes from C2... which is why it's called Arnold or C2 Neuralgia.
trigeminal neuralgia comes from the trigeminal nerve it's on the face not the neck
c-5/c-6 bulging discs supposedly affect the shoulders, arms area.... the occipital area would be c2... perhaps c3
