I hope you just caught John Batdorf on KSBR radio station in Mission Viejo CA!! I feel like a 60 year old groupie! Just got a signed CD, John's new disc.
This duo was very popular to Hawaii Islanders in the 70's. They were among the top artists treasured by everyone there in the islands; along with Kalapana, Cecilio and Kapono, Seals and Crofts, America, Hall and Oates, Kenny Rankin, Santana and Country Comfort, along with other favorites.
Just love these guys. I saw them in Arnold, Missouri in 197??. That was when I could still wear a scarf as a shirt, which is what I wore that night! (spent some time at home embracing) I have several of their albums, and still listen, but this song is my fave! NMB
@druther530 I'm a huge B$R fan, too, and as much as I'd like to think, like you, that this song influence CS&N, Suite Judy Blue Eyes preceded this by several years. Good ear, though, keep listening!
Such a great song and fun acoustic guitar parts. Miss the interplay harmony of guitars like the original recording had but still so cool. Billy Batstone on bass too!
This was live at XM Radio 2008.

IT EXISTS !!!! I can't afford it yet but I heard a two minute snippet on the website...it's may not be slower but there are drums...(whew)

was there a considerably shorter version for radio? I seem to remember a slightly slower arrangement with drums and more harmonies...

after 40+ years...I found it...wow...don't remember it being six minutes long, but that's fine by me...

Why has no music writer ever mentioned that Crosby, Stills and Nash lifted their sound fro Batdorf and Rodney?
