  • Why do you go through a second time before tying the knot? I have seen most people just go through the two ropes and then pull it tight, but you then go through another one and pull tight. Is this just to lock it off more? Thanks- TMFA

  • @TheManFromAlaska - it's because im using very fine nylon cord, if you go through just the once with this stuff it slips, the second time through locks it off, when using natural cordage you only need the single knot

  • @maveraver

Good deal. Thanks for the answer.

  • Thanks.... I'm getting there. whittled my second needle and mesh gauge yesterday... already doing better!

  • My first attempt was with a pretty fine piece of synthetic twine.. not the best to start with I imagine... anyway, is there a trick to making sure the correct row of meshes goes on the 550 cord? Or is it just a big mess because I am using fine poly string... heh heh! It is probably more clear using larger string.

Thanks for the feedback, nice video!

  • @boulderbum2 to thread the net onto the cord just takes a bit of time and patience, but using thicker cord really does help a lot, all you need to do is establish the top row and thread it on, it gets easier with time - honest

  • not following exactly... did you take the 550 cord down and run it through your first series of meshes?

  • @boulderbum2 - yes, sorry i didnt make that very clear in the video

  • Like I said, really a very good instructions to make one net.

    Very interesting.

Thanks my friend for this information.

    All the best.

    Greetings Tito
