  • my father is an alcoholic hense so am i , i don't want to be becauseive lost my family over alcohol my grandfather was also an alcoholic are you implying that i could change through posotive thinking? i don't think so

  • @tiasarahellielorna Not sure what you mean by "change". Based upon your genetic history, can you change the fact that you're more likely to develop a dependency upon alcohol by doing nothing more than thinking happy thoughts while you abuse alcohol? No. Can you improve your chances of not ruining your life with alcohol by avoiding drinking, eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and working to develop a positive attitude to your life? Of course you can! That's a no-brainer.

  • Yeah, the past and the future are a probabilistic cloud. So is the distant present (spatially distant).

Yeah, positive thinking is linked to improvements in OUR OWN BODIES.

What makes you link those two? What makes you think that the probabilistic cloud can be influenced in a SPECIFIC way?

It's like astrology. Yeah, perhaps other planets can influence us in some way. But what makes them think it's THEIR specific way? I'm more influenced by a mosquito that bothers me while i'm trying to sleep.

  • What you just did a millisecond ago isn't real. Hell, we can't even keep up with the 'now'. It's like that terrible wall that's constantly chasing you on some levels of Mario.

  • This episode starts about the connection between present and past,

    as you say:

"not just the future but the past can be changed by observation"

    but the genetic change example appears off topic;

I mean: genetic changes may appear after altering lifestyle, not before. Unless the idea is something like "I started gym at 50, and the benefits didn't only come after, since it also helped me to dodge a disease that I would instead have suffered at 45"

  • This one is great, Rob! Google Supramental Yoga- it's a very concise practice based on exactly what you're talking about here.

  • Seriously, it seems like the cannabis plant is built for the intelligent, inquisitive, imaginative, ect. mind. Not only do my senses, reason, intuition, and imagination expand on marijuana, I also understand science so much more. There is something it does to your logical faculty that makes you understand things your reason couldn't before using your imagination while high. I have heard in addition of expanding the senses it also heightens the ability of the left and right side of the brain.

  • loveddddd this video..... the song is great!

  • everything (i believe) is unfolding as it should. : )

  • The only thing I don't really like about your videos is that part way through you put links to other vids and I wanna watch them and then I always find myself going on through to increasingly more interesting videos and I always forget to come back! lmfao!

  • :-) Hey, since there's not an infinite number of videos eventually you'll recognize the ones you've already seen and the ones that didn't appeal to you as much. It's kind of like I'm building a neural network of inter-related ideas, but each person will find a certain grid within this web of connections that resonates more strongly for them.

That's my hope, anyway! Thanks for your comment.

    Rob

  • @10thdim well technically, if i've been understanding your other videos on dimensions and the omniverse correctly... there *is* an infinite number of videos ;) i find your way of thinking to be very insightful, thanks for posting these up. the way i think and perceive as consciousness is constantly being challenged.

  • @10thdim :) Reminds me of wikipedia.

  • @JoMutt same here hahaha

  • I want to be Dr. Manhattan. We shall all become as powerful as this, in a nearby parrallel reality! Knowledge is exponentially increasing. the same thing needs to happen about wisdom.

  • Haha, you'll like my next video then because it features Dr. Manhattan!

  • I would like to see how placebo ties into all of this. Placebo is accepted by most. Humans can be affected by just believing they are under an effect. Is this the same as changing our trajectory in the 5th dimension?

  • Yes, absolutely! Google

    placebos tenth dimension

    for more about that idea.

  • so what is this videos say we can change our genes and stuff, so that mean by thinking a certain way we can change they way we look or physical apperance.

  • Certainly, changing your attitude changes the way you hold your body and the way you appear to others, but the kinds of genetic changes we're more likely to be talking about here are the likelihood of developing a certain disease or the likelihood of a certain part of the body breaking down - these are the kinds of things that were once thought to be part of the "genetic hand of cards" each of us are dealt, with the implication that you can't change it. Here's a part 2:

    watch?v=XrYUlbYQuKA

    Rob

  • are you saying we can or cant change the physical apperance of our actual looks

  • No, I'm not saying changing your attitude can change your skin colour or the shape of your nose, if that's what you mean. But your genetic structure is about much more than those superficial outward appearances.

    Rob

  • Rob is speaking of epigenetics here. See Wikipedia for more on the subject.

I actually like the song. Always thought provoking lyrics, Rob. Thanks!

  • Wow, what an un-called for and overwhelmingly uninformed post - you are entitled to your opinion, but learn to word things a little more tactfully, people will take you more seriously than "OMG...is just gay... FFS SHUT UP"... that was just so un-called-for. oh well, its been a month and no-one cared lol. Next time word your negative feedback less agressively please?

  • Aww man, I was expecting a easy-peasy "Think about getting better genes" technique then BAM! Good genes.

    =/

  • Though Genes are Hereditary didn't u say there not if not Hereditary where do we recieve them from?

  • Yes, we inherit our genes from our parents. And according to new studies, changes in lifestyle can cause good genes to switch on and bad genes to switch off. Which is much better news than the old way of thinking, which was just "oh too bad, you got a bad set of genes from your parents and there's nothing you can do about it". :)

    Thanks for writing,

    Rob

  • ohh thats cool so the genes would turn on and off meaning that your body would make more protien, could to much protien be bad?

  • "Rob Bryanton's Imagining the Tenth Dimension is one of the most brilliantly-conceived and mind-stretching books that I've ever encountered. Bryanton presents a uniquely compelling model of our 10-dimensional universe, that allows one to visualize and grasp the topography of the higher dimensions in a step-by-step manner. This is must reading for anyone interested in the philosophy of physics, shamanic exploration, or the nature of reality."

--David Jay Brown, author and psychobiologist.

  • The aether? Wasn't that disproven 50 years ago?

What the eff is with your songs?

positive vibes from me: I think you are cool... but eep. You weird me out :)

You are mixing 2 types of knowledge: Faith and Science... they just don't mix, you're gonna go nuts or start a cult... or do both. Please pick more science 'eesh!

I feel like dressing in a wonderwoman costume and doing the twist while computing a calculus problem...

This is the last video of yours I'm going to watch.

  • Yes, that is my problem, isn't it? I'm trying to show that there can be a central meeting ground where physics and philosophy can be tied together. Sorry to hear you don't approve.

If you go to the main tenthdimension website you'll see a new review of my book by psychobiologist and author David Jay Brown - or why don't I post it here right now?

There are definitely some people within the scientific community who "get" what I'm trying to do.

    Thanks for writing!

  • No kidding. This information really isn't new at all. For instance, I have said along that I know what exists beyond the edge of the universe - and people said I was crazy - know what the answer is? THE FUTURE exists beyond the edge of the universe, and the future represents the realm of endless possibility, which makes the present a realm of endless potential. You can't have endless possibility spring from limited potential either. The future is a singularity, as are black holes...

  • Wanna know why the universe is accelerating as it expands, rather than slowing down? Thats easy. The initial conditions [as in the Big Band] implies definate entropy, which means that its outward projection IS NOT the only force that is moving us [making us expand], so what is this other force? Once again, it is the singularity that we call the future - the future encircles the present and is pulling it in, just as the the expansion of time is pushing outeward.

  • This leads me to beleive that the future is a type of all encompassing black hole that goes on ad-infinitum and is causing us to accelerate as time pushes forward.

  • Ha Ha.

This Guy is weird...BUT I like what he says because he allows someone to THINK rationally and ponder

    :+D

  • holy shit thats crazy

  • OK I get it now.

  • So if I set a point in the 4th dimension (now) then the 5th dimension branches off that point, but in the sixth dimension it also branches off of previous points in the 4th dimension (the past). Is that on the ball or is it farfetched.

  • Have you watched video blog entries here called "Local Realism Bites the Dust", or "Infinity and the Boltzmann Brains" or "Crossing Your Arms to Change Your Trajectory"? They're about what you're talking about. Saying that the 5th dimension branches off is correct, but you have to remember those branches go in both directions - there are multiple ways you can go forward in time from "now", but there are also multiple paths in the past that you could have traveled to get to "now".

  • So you're also right that the sixth dimension contains branches off of other points in the fourth dimension that are not available to us from our current "now", but again, those unavailable "cusps" are everywhere, in the past and the future (this is discussed in the video blog entry "Anime, Gaming and Cusps").

Still, it does sound like you're getting what I'm trying to portray here, thanks for the great questions!

    Rob

  • I'm a little confused on the difference between the difference between the 5th and 6th dimensions. Is the 5th dimension all the things that could happen in the future and the 6th all the things that could of happened in the past?

  • Quantum physics says it's all probabilities. So if you think of your "now" as being a point in the fourth dimension, there's a wave function of probabilities that extends out before and after, and according to this way of visualizing, the bush-like branching structure of probabilities is in the fifth dimension, converging towards that point that is the constantly refreshing "now". The sixth dimension, then, contains the parts of the wave function which are "possible" for the universe...

  • but just because something is "possible" for our universe doesn't necessarily mean it's possible for our current now. So in the sixth dimension there's a version of the universe where it's 2008 and dinosaurs aren't extinct - but that version is not part of the fifth dimensional probability set coming towards us from our current position within the multiverse.
