I can't believe someone actually liked this movie.. honestly the only thing I think they got right was the way the fire nation ships look. And why did you like Iroh?... Iroh is supposed to be 4 feet tall, fat as hell and funny as shit! The new uncle Eroh wasn't funny at all, but i will admit he was probably the best actor in the entire fire nation... which isn't saying much. Dev patel did his best and i'll give him some respect for trying, but he just can't pull off zuko, he seemed way too weak.
@braveheart2013 i wouldn't say 4 feet, just shorter than average, but remember he's usually surrounded by fire nation millitary in the first season, whom I could assume as being taller than average for being selected soldiers , but I know, the movie is just down right horrible
I'm sorry but it's not worth the money. I agree, some of the special effects were alright and the fight scenes with Aang particularly the ending, but I was annoyed with the lack of the personality with the characters. There was not one character in the movie you really cared about, which made the movie very boring. The only actor that was ok was maybe Dev Patel. None of the native american actors actually spoke, and very few east asian actors had lines considering the story is about them.
You forgot the fact that the names were changed to OONG instead of AANG and Uncle EROH instead of Uncle IROH. Also, Avatar Roku and Suki (leader of the Kyoshi Warriors) were casted to be in the movie and at last week before the premiere, M. Night decided to take them out...
@coolrob2157 taking out the kyoshi warriors would mess everything up because Suki had a major part in ending the war, she helped sokka and toph destroy the ships by SAVING THEIR LIVES.... if they make sequels it will be messed up
@Comikkaze Right well I was watching a recent interview with M. Night and apperently he has already gotten the script done for the 2nd one (If he gets the green light) and he took out the Kyoshi Warriors because he wants to make them have a bigger part in the second movie.
@coolrob2157 and by doing so what would he remove, long feng and the dai li, jet, or bumi? he can't possibly fit all those plots into one movie and throw in zuko's transformation in, or is it gonna be another exposition like:"upon wondering the earth kingdom, zuko and iroh decided they should quit form running and settle down"?
@coolrob2157 One thing you need to think about that I put a bit of thought into is that the show was made in English. The true Chinese pronunciations of the names are as they are in the movie. I was a hardcore fan of the series and I can answer just about any question about the series and I genuinely found the movie to be good. Not "life-changing" but good.
I'm not sure if changing the pronunciation of the names were necessary considering non asian (specifically east asian) actors were portraying the characters. I just don't get why he couldn't gone all the way with the casting if he was trying to make it realistic with the true asian pronunciation.
@scientolofag not Iroh, though, Iroh is pronounced as it was, not ero. unless you read iroh translated to katakana from romanji, but that logic hardly work. the way iroh's name was written in Chinese characters, Japanese would read it iroh not ero
WTF you give it a 7 out of 10, this movie is more like a minus 10 out of 10!!!

@scientolofag I know the rest sound as if they were, but why iroh, what's the purpose

@despairedboy I dunno, personally I like to think of this as if it was an alternate reality movie to the show.
