Yeah it's only an exhibition and they're well past their best (and then some). But it's worth watching just to see possibly the the two greatest boxers of all time in the same ring.

Rewind back to the end of 1947 - 18 years before this exhibition;

Robinson was the World Welterweight Champ with an 84-1-1 record

Pep was the World Featherweight Champ with an 118-1-1 record.

Fantastic numbers in any era.

sugar ray could fight with any of todays boxers. he was conditioned to fight longer and had a harder career. 200+ fights. and fighters back then used to take more punishment, sometimes over fifteen or twenty clean punches in a row before the ref would stop the fight. watch ray robinson vs lamotta. lamotta had the hardest chin ever, none of todays boxers could take that beating. and watch peps defensive moves in his prime, he's the old school pernell whitaker
