Two fighters who, at the very least, are on anyone's top 5 of all time, in the same ring together. This is a real timeless treasure. Thanks for posting.
I wanna see a modern day exhibition... I remember tyson doing a sparring match a few months after he retired but the crowd didnt appreciate what was going on
this is cool thx for uploading! the commentary was enjoyable too. its kinda crazy to think that bernard hopkins is at their age now....boxing needs to be more fun/entertaining, it doesnt always have to be all serious and all about the big money
@TheRexrapper Different weight classes so them fighting wouldn't happen. I have Robinson as the best with the athleticism/technician/power combo but Pep as the best technician as far as skill. Old school fighters are fading everywhere except Cambodia and Thailand.
Yeah it's only an exhibition and they're well past their best (and then some). But it's worth watching just to see possibly the the two greatest boxers of all time in the same ring.
Rewind back to the end of 1947 - 18 years before this exhibition;
Robinson was the World Welterweight Champ with an 84-1-1 record
Pep was the World Featherweight Champ with an 118-1-1 record.
Yeah who the fuck would want to watch this horrible shit, this guy is talking about pep being on the comeback trail. We owe fighters (way too late for these 2 obviously) more than this. Holyfield? Mosley? Briggs? Stop the madness! Yeah id like to see the 1938 fight.
@HarryTheTalkingDude Yeah, check out In This Corner Willie Pep. What a great character this guys was. There are so many great Willie Pep stories. The next boxing movie should be about Pep
@SugarFloydTysonJR better than having the full blown version like yourself. i mean naming yourselff after Tyson the rapist haha what age are you? 5? haha
@innit27 I'm sure you think you're being clever or something by claiming to be the best of all time but you're not. You're some chump who can't appreciate the work of others, so you compare youreself to them...oh and btw I guarantee I could beat you in the ring. P.S. my name is a homage to my favorite boxers of all time.
sugar ray could fight with any of todays boxers. he was conditioned to fight longer and had a harder career. 200+ fights. and fighters back then used to take more punishment, sometimes over fifteen or twenty clean punches in a row before the ref would stop the fight. watch ray robinson vs lamotta. lamotta had the hardest chin ever, none of todays boxers could take that beating. and watch peps defensive moves in his prime, he's the old school pernell whitaker
Robinson has the most beautiful boxing style, no wonder he is the greatest of all times, everybody tries to imitate him but unfortunately we only get bad copies.
@corytclark good list but the top 3 of all time are ray robinson, muhhamed ali,joe louis pacquiaos my favorite fighter but i don't see him as of right now on the top 3 but if he beats mayweather i will put him number 1
@corytclark finally somone who knows about boxing!!!!! i have 1 ray robinson 2 ali 3 willie pep 4 joe louis 5 jack johnson 6 roberto duran i havent figured out the rest yet!!

AsianBaskero 1 month ago
@AsianBaskero they weren't tha far apart. Is sparring , not a fight.
PBF sparred Montell Griffin who was a LHW for chrissakes !

Just think: these two LEGENDS combined had almost 450 fights!
Out of their primes or not, I would rather watch Pep and Robinson clown around than any superfight you could offer from today's best.
