one thing about the sponge method is that you need to wet the sponge first and squeeze out the excess water. This way the sponge is moist and doesn't soak up too much product.
@Azucena61 No problem! Honestly I cannot say one is better over another. I however LOVE Smashbox brushes. And yes the CoverFX #160 brush is one of my FAVOURITES! especially for foundation! It makes liquids look airbrushed when applied in circular motions and powdered foundations look flawless. :) it is definitely worth a purchase!! Hope this helps!
Do you think a foundation brush is only best when applying 'foundation'? cuz I like to use BB creams and brushes don't work when applying BB creams. either way, I'd just like to say that this video was indeed helpful :)
@PinkPlushie7590 i find it to be the best way. it is all about the brush i find though! bb creams are a little different though....they are basically a melody of primer and tinted moisturizer ....if using your hands or a sponge works for you..then i suggest sticking to it! this was just a demo that made me think...and so I wanted to share! :) and I'm glad it was helpful!
@rawrr259 It really honestly depends on the brush for sure. you can apply foundation with any brush, you will just get a different effect. One brush that I LOVE for applying foundation is the CoverFX 160(it is a natural haired brush and almost looks like a blush brush). So, whatever works, use it :) as long as you like the result!
@VividFusionBlog I understand where you're coming from, I guess I've just found that brushes tend to apply too thickly sometimes and can apply streaky (even with a high quality brush) and when I started using a damp sponge for application I found it became more even and less heavy-handed. But to each their own when it comes to their foundation :-)
@tinymandolin very true! Each to their own!!! I mean not EVERYONE wants the coverage that a brush gives! Some prefer a light application. It would totally depend on brush, product used and how much was used! If you can work a sponge, go for it!
This just really helped me, ESPECIALLY for High definition Photography and film, under HD lenses you can totally see finger prints when foundation is applied with fingers and you can see streaks with a sponge.. but for everyday wear, it's different! :)
@tessab0o it is! however this is showing how and what each does. Like I said if you can use either, do so! This pretty much speaks for itself though. :)
i allways applied foundation with my fingers and i was angry about the result every day..i think i will buy a professional brush-set :D thank you so much :)
What about a stippling brush?

@sammielor no problem! I only wanted to make people think about how they are applying foundation!

You used the sponge dry, though. If you use a damp sponge it won't soak up the product like that and it will spread evenly...
tinymandolin 10 months ago
@tinymandolin I did use it dry. Because most people don't use it wet, I wanted to demonstrate how MOST people use it.
