Hahaa, none of you idiots have worked on a farm have you?
To be a successful farmer, you need happy animals. It's basic science that a scared or abused animal will not produce for the farmer. Without the animals producing, the farmer isn't going to make any profit.
My GOD you guys are so damn ignorant. Can't really blame you though, for I shared your exact views and sentiments when I was in high school.. but then I got an education.
@wasabi622 before you laugh too hard at suffering, consider... you can put on weight in jail. Fat people get depressed too. Weight gain is not a measure of well-being. That is an incredibly simplistic and naiive interpretation of physiology. If you were locked in a cage and had nothing but food for company you'd probably be "productive" too.
@funkwaxpuppy I'm not laughing at suffering, and I'm not condoning abuse towards animals. I never said weight gain or depression. I said production, as in, live births, eggs produced, percent muscle mass gained, milk yielded, and so on. Fat gain and muscle gain are different. None of those occur at any sort of reasonable rate if the animal is under stress. Also, jail, while not pleasant, the inmates are fed, and housed. They're not loved, but they still are given the basic necessities.
A vegan with the strength to type a message in here is a surprise indeed lol. Dont hurt the poor animals, they're like us, only not like us but kinda pink like us omg /hurt
Was the pig ever very nice to another man? It seems like it may have been a very nice pig, swine, as maybe it would occasionally give gifts to nurses or make appropriate phone calls on his best friend's birthday, or maybe the pig let an old woman have his seat on the bus one day, or maybe been very nice to others? If so, the pig was some sort of local hero who gave clothes to local starving children? The pig may have been nice even to one man, or woman, maybe by lighting a candle?
@LStrode7 ok so you say that this is reality what planet do you live on! you know what i got 100 bucks that says that you have never worked one day as a hog farmer but you seem to be an expert at it! sure as a hog farmer i strive to provide safe and comfortable environment for my hogs! @TheGeoboy78 .I live on planet Earth..where the cruelty and abuse towards farm animals happens on a daily basis.I've got 100 bucks that says you've never worked as a hog farmer also.
@LStrode7 no i have worked as a hog farmer for over three years where i have litterally dealt with thousands of hogs. but what you see as cruelty is simply the way hogs are raised and it is through your ignorance of the way hogs are raised is why you see everything as cruelty. and i am sure that you would bitch the same way if they were raised outside. oh my they are dirty abuse abuse!.
@TheGeoboy78 Sadly not all pigs are raised in your farm. Check out the massives, were most of the pigs are grown. You'll see that it's a different "farm" out there. All hi-tech and machines. "Creating" meat like creating forks, not raising.
The reason i dont eat pigs! I couldnt eat a small child or a dog which is less intelligent, so i will not eat a pig! The way thes pigs ar raised is cruel!

@urcrotchsmellsfunny Well aren't you a tough cunt, I'm shivering mate, I'll be looking over my shoulder from now on, just in case a vegan wants to bash me up.
@urcrotchsmellsfunny i totally agree with you thats how i am this one woman was throwing rocks at her dog me and my friend started thowing rocks at her she ran in the house and called the police and we kinda took her dog but he was better off with us an way if you dont know how to treat them then maybe you shouldnt have em
I've already answered those questions. Pampering an animal that you are going to kill and devour is retarded. Livestock are like plants (raised to be eaten). Treating them any "better" is a waste of money.
Besides, there's nothing wrong with getting fed a ton of food all day while sitting on your ass. I'd take that over getting chased by predators constantly anyday.
And as far as your stupid intelligence/nervous system(lolwut?!) claim goes, pigs are dumb. Get over it.
Look, retarD (D, not T), you missed the entire point. The pig in this video was raised to be eaten. That's it! He's just like a plant, which are raised to be devoured as well. I, on the other hand, wasn't born on a special farm to be fed to other human beings.
This is what vegetarians and "free-thinkers" always do. You debunk their logic, and they try to come up with a smart remark that comments on what the original person DIDN'T say, because they don't have an intelligent rebuttal.

Animal farmers are just to stubborn/lazy/ignorant/greedy to explore them. IMO, eat meat if you want but don't torture the poor things before hand.
Yes -- we do. And also for torturing and eating dogs in Asia. (NB Scientists agree that pigs are smarter than dogs). It's easy to point the finger at other nations, isn't it? Much harder to acknowledge and criticise the cruelty we are responsible for in our own country. Being bred in captivity just shows how far humans have come over the past few centuries. We're so pro at killing, we don't even need to kill the animal ourselves anymore. We can simply pick up the remains at a supermarket. :3
I hate to break it to you, but "educated pricks" understand how the food chain works. Elitist uneducated nancy-boys feel the need to change the laws of nature.
The concept of survival justifies what I said, not the piece of crap statement you pulled out of your ass.
Bigger animals feed on smaller animals. That's how nature works. Do you honestly believe these dumb animals have a better life in the wild where they're running from other predators 24/7?
If it came down to you and a pig, and only one of you could live, you'd most likely kill the pig, and eat every bit of it. If you didn't, then you fail pretty hard at humans' only task: survival.
Try to see the big picture here, and stop trying to change the way nature operates.
u need to be more open minded. im not a vegetarian, i totally believe humans are omnivores - and thats fine.
its not about eating the meat, its about cruelly treating the animals and giving them a shit life before they die. its unfair, since they have to die for us.
in nature, and im sure you'd agree, humans are the most intelligent animals. well we should be using our brains and realise nothing, NOTHING, deserves to suffer like that. prison is for criminals, wat have they done wrong?
No you're missing the point. You might not be killed in a few years of life, flesh stripped off you for a few cheap bucks but lucky for the people that own YOU and everyone else, they can keep "farming" us for a good 50 years of our life and still be rewarded for another 20-40 years. You are delude, you are the moron who is uneducated. It is not about the consumption of animals itself. What you fail to see, what we are fighting is the way you barbaric fuckers consume animals.
And ahahahah, I see what kind of guy you are already, Mr. I-Watched-Loose-Change-And-Zeitgeist-And-Blindly-Believe-That-Zionists-Own-All-The-Sheeple-In-The-Universe.
Your argument is retarded. You're saying it's not about killing and then devouring animals, but how we do it "barbarically". Tell me, how on earth are you supposedly to civilly kill and eat an animal?
You can't. You're still taking its life for your own personal gain. Digest that, nancy-boy.
ok farmer joe trust me i love bacon but the point of this video was to try and get the message out there that these animals are treated in some cases very poorly and i think thats so wrong
Well it's a retarded message. The animals are going to be killed and devoured anyway, which is the only reason they're alive.
Think of livestock like plants. You leave them in one spot, feed them properly so they get as big as they're going to get, and then "pluck them" when the time is right.
You must be poorly educated or just born stupid, don't bother replying your on block fuckheaD,hope you come back as a pig yourself no better still an afghanistan mountain goat hahaha
i'm hungry too, but im gonna go have something VEGAN! you douches who say your gonna go eat pigs after that... i cant believe how selfish and stupid you are!

I love this!! It reminds me of how good pork tastes. However, on a more serious note, what is truly horrific is that they got a young child to actually voice this.
A lack of a way to communicate with human beings does NOT mean an animal cannot suffer. With that logic, it'd be justifiable to kill foreign humans who you can't speak with because of the language barrier.
...its either them or some other animal WHOCARES! cmon seriously were thinking of how a pig feels are we that sad now that we have to classify a pig as a 3 yr old child ?
It is a disgace that humans take it on themself to farm animals, If they have the intellegence of a 3 year old they can understand whats going on around them the mental anguish must be terrible :-(
"If Pigs Could Talk" is a brilliant parallel of the distress a 3-year old child would suffer if she were sick, in pain, and confined to the floor of a cage.
thank you, advertising agency Razor, for using your talent and time in such a good cause. It's very effective without being gruesome, gets the point across with real impact.
Organic, free range pork is the only kind I will buy from now on. There is no alternative.
"Organic, free range pork is the only kind I will buy from now on. There is no alternative."
I am not sure what free range and organic mean in Australia, but in the U.S., Roseanna, the USDA requires that "free-range" animals have access to outdoor areas, but there is no provision for how long they must spend or how much room they must have outside.
The USDA's regulations don't require that animals actually spend time outdoors, only to have access to the out of doors.
So, if a farmer opened the door to a coop with thousands of birds inside, for instance, and then closed it before any chickens went outside, he would still be able to use the free-range label.
There's nothing organic about our factory farms -- the animals are shot up with steroids, and masses doses of antibiotics to kill the diseases they suffer from close confinement.
There are always producers who say farming is a business, but when business starts moving towards organic and truth in labelling, they will follow the dollar.
Australia is now the largest exporter of organically-grown produce in the world and our chickens have been free of added hormones and antibiotics for years. It takes carrot-and-stick to change intensive farming practices, not just standing around crying 'fowl!' (sorry). Buy free-range and ask questions - loudly - with a smile.
Meat is not only murder, but also torture, and much, much suffering. Have you ever wondered how they derived "humane" from human??

I don't understand people who aren't REALLY vegan calling themselves vegan. "I only eat chicken, I'd never eat a pig because they're smart."
So just because things are SMARTER we shouldn't eat them?
Meaning it's valid to eat humans with mental/severe learning disabilities, you mean, or..? What DO you mean by that?
I just don't get why people choose because of intelligence, or cuteness.

rep. to 425653 Of course you would kill the pig for survival even if you loved it as a friend. Its a common Theme in many a tale.
The point is "How" you end its life.
You wouldn't torture a donor that gives so you may live.
and the question "Who cares" is probably why they made this clip.
+Its the little animals that feed on the big ones when they are dead. Nature abhors suffering. Sad creatures give up the struggle.
Successful predators do not practice cruelty on their pray.

u need to be more open minded. im not a vegetarian, i totally believe humans are omnivores - and thats fine.
its not about eating the meat, its about cruelly treating the animals and giving them a shit life before they die. its unfair, since they have to die for us.
in nature, and im sure you'd agree, humans are the most intelligent animals. well we should be using our brains and realise nothing, NOTHING, deserves to suffer like that. prison is for criminals, wat have they done wrong?
tarais18 3 years ago 5
They're going to die anyway, so who cares? It costs less to treat them how we do now (see: slave trade).
425653 3 years ago
so are you fuckwit
slowlycreepingin 3 years ago
You're missing the point, my dear friend. I'm not being raised on a farm solely to be killed/devoured.
425653 3 years ago
No you're missing the point. You might not be killed in a few years of life, flesh stripped off you for a few cheap bucks but lucky for the people that own YOU and everyone else, they can keep "farming" us for a good 50 years of our life and still be rewarded for another 20-40 years. You are delude, you are the moron who is uneducated. It is not about the consumption of animals itself. What you fail to see, what we are fighting is the way you barbaric fuckers consume animals.
VeganActiv 3 years ago
@Vegan
Well, first off: deluded*
And ahahahah, I see what kind of guy you are already, Mr. I-Watched-Loose-Change-And-Zeitgeist-And-Blindly-Believe-That-Zionists-Own-All-The-Sheeple-In-The-Universe.
Your argument is retarded. You're saying it's not about killing and then devouring animals, but how we do it "barbarically". Tell me, how on earth are you supposedly to civilly kill and eat an animal?
You can't. You're still taking its life for your own personal gain. Digest that, nancy-boy.
425653 3 years ago
ok farmer joe trust me i love bacon but the point of this video was to try and get the message out there that these animals are treated in some cases very poorly and i think thats so wrong
slowlycreepingin 3 years ago
Well it's a retarded message. The animals are going to be killed and devoured anyway, which is the only reason they're alive.
Think of livestock like plants. You leave them in one spot, feed them properly so they get as big as they're going to get, and then "pluck them" when the time is right.

How is that not a racist statement? Just because I live in the United States means I support the war?
Nice reasoning there, champ. And so much for blocking me there.

An emotive and very effective clip.
And sadly true.
It would not hurt to show a little care for our methods of stock handling.
An improved stock handling process would make us a better society.
A little kindness goes a long way.
Sorrow embeds itself in the flesh.
The taste of sadness.

Pigs eat their own shit + we treat them like shit. I stopped eating pork a loooooong time ago. Nasty creatures.

As soon as the rest of nature stops eating itself, I'll stop eating nature. Until then, this video makes me rather hungry.

HoS777 3 years ago 2
I'll vote for that, sounds like a good idea.

...its either them or some other animal WHOCARES! cmon seriously were thinking of how a pig feels are we that sad now that we have to classify a pig as a 3 yr old child ?
BEBOCLIPS 3 years ago
Who cares? I'll bet the pig cares. Grow a brain.

Bravo, AnimalsAustralia, bravo!

Organic, free range pork is the only kind I will buy from now on. There is no alternative.
RoseannaD 3 years ago 2
"Organic, free range pork is the only kind I will buy from now on. There is no alternative."
I am not sure what free range and organic mean in Australia, but in the U.S., Roseanna, the USDA requires that "free-range" animals have access to outdoor areas, but there is no provision for how long they must spend or how much room they must have outside.
CDLver 3 years ago
The USDA's regulations don't require that animals actually spend time outdoors, only to have access to the out of doors.
So, if a farmer opened the door to a coop with thousands of birds inside, for instance, and then closed it before any chickens went outside, he would still be able to use the free-range label.
There's nothing organic about our factory farms -- the animals are shot up with steroids, and masses doses of antibiotics to kill the diseases they suffer from close confinement.
CDLver 3 years ago
There are always producers who say farming is a business, but when business starts moving towards organic and truth in labelling, they will follow the dollar.
Australia is now the largest exporter of organically-grown produce in the world and our chickens have been free of added hormones and antibiotics for years. It takes carrot-and-stick to change intensive farming practices, not just standing around crying 'fowl!' (sorry). Buy free-range and ask questions - loudly - with a smile.

The US legislators fuck everything up, though.
