easiest thing, you just wait until the tube or tha fuck its called, falls really fast, when it falls really fast, the next time you push it, it will take too long to fall, giving you the perfect moment to press A.

your way is difficult. i tried that but didn't help me due to the miliseconds u have so as to hear the right clic of the lock. after i broke many lockpicks i realised that if u press the button of locking each safety bar after one bar comes down immediately then the bar is almost sure to lock. so guys push up each bar and u need to notice the one time it comes down immediately! after that time push the bar up again and then it is very possible to secure the bar. i rarely break lockpicks now! ;)

no i have a better trick. hit it up then quickly pause the game. when it goes fast it always hits the top when it goes slow it does not reach the top before you pause and then you return and quickly hit x ( or a in x box) . If you fail you do it wrong. this trick is a bit hard to explain sry

@Trexkiller99 nah, "player.additem b 1" you will get skelleton key, an unbreakable lockpick that also raises security by 40 pts, or do nocturnal quest, her shrine is near lleyawin, you can force the lock forever (or wait till the pin does the right sound and press right-mouse-button)

@ilmillion you need to go to the Thieves guild as soon as possible. There you can buy more than enough of them plus sell stolen goods plus learn skills like Lockpick or Sneaking from the teachers.

I always start the game by going to that Red Guard on the Waterfront in the Imperial city. Head there at night and wait for him to come.
