  • OMG, it's like Purple Haze played sideways!

  • does jack nicholson actually play guitar?

  • @manwitgun55 Well, Jack holds a guitar in his hands, but even his miming is not very convincing. He looks like he has never before touched a guitar before, was probably busy enough touching women all the time.

  • THIS MOVIE IS SO FREAKIN TRIPPY YOU DON'T NEED CHEMICALS...BUT...MIGHT AS WELL, MIGHT AS WELL!

  • lmao!

  • Boenzee Cryque - Ashbury Wednesday

  • For all who don't know, the band that plays the song is called Böenzee Cryque (pronounced Ben-zee Crick). Amazing version, love how he get that sound of the guitar, which i by the way have NO idea how. Does he bend the strings?

  • @DannyDelReyo I think I got the sound, its hard to see but if you look at the head of the main guitar in 0:42 you will notice its actually a bass, not a guitar... (I think its distorted...)

  • actually it sounds like Jimi didn't show up for the session ..... Purple Haze played sideways.

  • @bruces3 uh wo hello good point

  • sounds like my car engine..

  • Who was the band that actually played this great version ?? was it just a bunch of studio session players ??

  • @OhioRocks77

i would say either session musicians or strawberry alarm clock caue they play most music in this movie

  • wow this band sucked. haa complete ripoff.

  • That whirring sound you hear is Jimi Hendrix spinning in his grave.

  • Jack Nicholson plays a mean guitar - watch out Jimi

  • The cover is good. Who played it?

  • love this movie ;)

  • Sounds like Purple haze played sidways...

  • Haha this is one of the best parts of the movie! Look at Jack Nicholson's amazing guitar skills!

  • Yeah Jack Nicholson, writing a role for yourself as a perfect ladies man is so exciting for the viewer.

  • Woah! Is the drummer "Goldie" from "The Mack"?! Max Julien?

  • Yep, that's him.

  • how the hell do you get sounds like that out of a guitar

  • playing with your amp =) and defenitely the guitar helps. Ive got a LTD is kind of heavy but I can get an old tone palying with my amp

  • Practice. Oh, and acid.

  • lol wtf

  • Mumblin' Jim was the best band to come out of San Francisco in the 1960s!

  • such a bizarre cover. it definitely has a drugged kind of quality which im guessing is what they were going for. but the lead guitar (especially) is kind of laughable at points.

oh and jack nicholson seems to be embarassed that he has to mime playing guitar.
