No that is not the case. These locos are maintained in very good mechanical condition. The Rewari shed is home to these jewels and they are well looked after. WPs were designed to haul up to 14 coaches when coal was used as the fuel and some were modified to burn diesel, in which case they produced nearly 2100hp, sufficient to haul 18 coaches. However heritage locos are not used to pull heavy loads as that may cause mechanical problems and not that the loco is weak or anything like that.

The WAP4 is doing a banking duty as the WP ahead is too weak to haul full fledged loads now.

Great catch. It is annoying to see someone standing right in front of the camera, but won't blame him as Steam Locomotives charm everyone.

I wonder whether this WP is Canadian built, US built or built by CLW.

Absolutely heartwarming, though more matchiing coaches could have been put. The weather played spoiltsport by raining, as it does occasionally when one's efforts, to experience the rare magic of steam goes in vain. If they were trying to show the evolution of IR then theys should have put a WAP7 locomotive? Otherwise the arrangement of coaches lacks imagination.
