Did some research and this is not a colossal squid or ( Giant squid as most people confuse this with the colossal squid ) but this is actually long armed squid. for more just wikipedia bigfin squid or long armed squid in google.
I have not heard anything recently on this... but i do remember some scientists saying they believe this squid is extremly old..( as in been on the planet for ages) because the style of body it has.. no other squid has arms with elbows then leading to the tenticales

i believe it's food to keep it standing still to capture it on footage. They use garbage cans because...well i don't really know why, the food probably tastes like ****
