I was at this concert and Miss Egerth's performance was a window to a lost world opening for me, a glimpse of something I knew I would never see again. After her exquisite singing, truly a miracle, I fled the auditorium in tears and ran home, for nothing else could possibly follow this. I've seen 100 year old competitive skiers but, at 90 she doesn't sing more slowly, or feebly than some of the best of the young. May our beautiful songs remain resonant in each of us as we age ourselves finally off the musical score.

Wonderful. Marta Egerth and Ian Kiepura , operetta at its peak.
At 90 you have to have some technique.
The stupid coughs and noises as usual.
Still the pleasure of watching and listening to this great lady is inmense.
