(This was said by him in an interview on The View) So technically this song was not written about a man. He had many girlfriends in the past. But the song is actually about how he wishes he could be with this girl, and people wouldnt know about them.. Hence the whole "Invisible" thing

Homophobe in American vernacular means people who have hatred of gays, not fear. Doesn't fall into line with Christian beliefs. #2, there exist hundreds of these types of "brain damage", like autism...the very thing that has let a lot of people throughout history achieve an immense amount in a single lifetime due to heightened concentration and attention to detail.
