  • Everything cool about Noel has been nerfed. They say her drives have been improved. But her drive loop does alot less damage. Seriously.

  • I dunno, is it me or did they nerf Distortion Drives? both Tao's and Noel's DD  didn't hit that hard.

    I'm glad her Optic Barrel comes out faster now... and I'm shocked... I just saw someone throw out Drive spam at high level, XD... Everyone who complained about it in CT... BEWARE...

  • @kiseki1 Wouldn't happen if her normals didn't get nerfed. I don't even know why ASW did it. It's not like Noel was the cheapest character in the game. So now, the safest way to deal damage is by fishing for a counter hit with 5D. Almost everything else except Bullet Storm and Optic Barrel lost priority.

    Enough people complained saying her "6A" and 6C" are too good and they shouldn't give you such a "big" combo. Sadly, I will have to say Online Noels are gonna be a lot more drive happy (well, maybe not more drive happy, should I say a bit more successful at it.) 3C is still her big combo getter but... It's still just as unsafe... Least it takes away a barrier bezel.

    I agree her normals got nerfed, I'm just explaining why it happened, = /. And, Fenrir lost priority? So not only did they make the command (well, not harder, but more annoying and less fluid to do) different, its not a viable wake up reversal anymore?

  • @kiseki1 Dunno. I only know those two were either unaffected, or better. I'm not a Noel player, though, but it seems from all the vids that it's hard to get good damage from her normals, so even high level players are defaulting to her Chain mixups.

  • @kiseki1 The Direction + B attack in combo? The downward heeldrop? That attack got faster, I think.

  • @jellotek 6B is indeed a fast overhead but, the limited range means you can't really viably try it more than once in a combo, by the time u can try the second one, even if it connects, most of the time you're outta range to hit with anything else.

  • lol, did they nerf "Berserker Barrage" super? or is that from all that pro-ration, XD... Either way, it did about half as much damage as I'm used to seeing it do.

  • Why is it that all the complaints come back to effing Noel? that's starting to piss me off. She's was a DECENT character at best. And they didn't even take her drive strings out did they? NOPE. they took out her Grab whiff combos. Which were MUCH harder to do/time than what Tao has. They also changed her 22C combos as well. There are other characters to complain about. Stop comparing everything to Noel. She wasn't even that big of a threat. You got beat by nonsense then you suck. End of story.

  • If you caught feelings over this, then get your game up. That's what other players are gonna do. There will be even more drive usage than before. You gonna whine even more when that happens? The drive chains are FASTER. I guarantee you they're still unsafe as all heck. I was saying that from day 1. People didn't believe me until 3 months later. Wonder why the Japanese rape us at most games? Because they figure things out and listen to other players instead of complaining. Man up.

  • Word. Seriously. Noel's grab whiff combos were pretty hard. While Tao's taunt loops aren't that much easier, Noel lost her loop while Tao... can now taunt loop characters across the screen. The only thing Noel really had going for her in CT was pure damage, and even that's been toned down. Not to mention it's a lot harder to guard break with the new primer system. I'm still interested in both of these characters though.

  • Yeah, I'm still gonna play Noel. I still love that character. I never really was a Tao player. I might try Rachel out again or maybe Tsubaki. She just looks cool, xD. Noel will stay my main, though. ^_^

  • It actually seems like her 22B/C combos look easier to do, at least compared to the CT haida loop. I can foresee casual players complaining about online Noels, even though she's so far 3rd worst in the game according to preliminary tiering drafts by the Japanese gaming community, given that her "damaging" combos are easier to do, and her drive moves are faster. She just does crap damage and requires players to do research to take advantage of her mediocre (imo) abare.

  • That caca loop is way too broken. Considering how little the aerial special prorates, it seems a lot like those dumb, easy noel D-chains from CT. I'm sure it's harder to perform than that, but still, caca looks like she's turning out to be high tier at the least.

  • Thing is, that's not what they're supposed to change. There is still a fundamental flaw with BB's core gameplay, and they've only done one minor thing to change that (bursts). Changing character combo's that don't need changing (Taokaka, Noel, Jin etc) just for the sake of change is useless. Arc are thus only rearranging what's on the surface, rather than the heart of the gameplay.

    i just to like see some originally in combos instead of some ultra 1337 hax0r abusing the same two hit combo all the time. just grinds my gears a bit(yes, i probably get butthurt all the time when someone does that to me, so dont bother saying that)

    and plus hearing AL-KE UN-TA!(sp?) gets a bit throw-the controller-at-screen-and-get- anger-management to me. just saying ;)

  • It's not broken, it's not any stronger than any other good combo. But of course I don't like loops; they just look kind of lame.
