  • automatic?? really come on man!

  • in spec... by the producer vette accelerate 0-60 in 4.2 sec with paddle shifter in semiauto. this is semi auto. So we can see good driver can accelerate little faster. in 4.1 or 4.0. Wchich other car have better acceleration from 430 hp?? noone

  • There is no 7 sec?

  • Wao this video gets a lot of comments just because is a automatic? I should have buy one in auto!!!! or not? jjajajajaja. nice video

  • I don't think that's included in the break-in procedure during the first 5,000 miles!~

  • and no its 4sec..actually 4.1 if your anal..but thats pre nice..then again .we dont know if hes going down hill or what not..but still fast

  • @venuztaurus6ix considering I can hear tire spin all the way up to at least 50 I'd say there's a pretty good chance he's not "cheating" in any way.

  • let me see..traffic gas is expensive..traffic shifting omg gotta shift back to 2..oops the phones is ringing..yay traffic is moving ...oops nevermind..shifting back down to 2nd gear..fuck my life clutch is gonna go bad smh..sigh.i live in cali..and i choosed a auto ls2 over a manuel due to driving condition and traffic..but i have money..long tube head efi tuned powerstar sparkplugs.sprintbooster vararam flowmaster catback.portpolished throttle.im highly satisfied.both world paddleshift.

  • I can do this faster in my 3000gt twin turbo but I have to drop the clutch at 4k rpm's

  • paddle shifters for me are just a track toy that keep your hands on the wheel for serious time attack shit not saying you cant go just as fast with the stick...on the street i like to chirp some gears! and driving a stick is always better and makes you a better driver...ferrari bring back the gated six speeds please! sick car ill take any trans you wanna give...vettes r the best

  • @Thakiid101 Well, cars without power steering can be a real challenge with a stick. Of course that being said manual steering is really more common on the track now than the street.

  • Now boys, it's okay. Remember it isn't size that counts.

  • ive seen enuff evotech amg or m6 or m5 own ls3 manuels...and z06 smg or whatever...point blank..smg paddle shifters are more suitable for purpose..i hate traffics so iwould prefer a m5 or m6 over a manuel ls3 or z06..were incase smg sits in both world..auto and manuel

  • An automatic transmission in a Corvette is not the same as an automatic transmission in a Honda Civic. You have the option, if you wish, to use the paddle shifters. This is the same type of technology that's in brand new Ferraris. You have a choice, and if you happen to be driving through heavier traffic, it's convenient to use the automatic transmission.

  • wow i think 4 seconds is being a little modest just saying haha

  • same as a new mustang

  • When did the C5 get a 6 speed automatic? I have a automatic C5 and its only a 4 speed.....

  • @ItsNado All C5 automatics are 4 speeds. The first year of the C6 (2005) had a 4 speed auto, and from 2006-present the automatics are 6 speeds.

  • @ditttch Yeah did more reading on the C6 and found that out thanks for the help and not a childish bash like you usually get.

  • no i know what it is, the onse who hate autos are pissed that it can shift better than they can, lol

  • @ShahollariB I hear ya. The poor bastard probably has a V6 firebird. Bottom line is we all have different tastes. Acting like a dick because someone doesn't see it your way screams of insecurity, and in this case, probably jealously. I'm loving my vette, too bad I'll have to garage it soon with winter coming.

  • i wouldnt buy an automatic even if it was faster than a manual. Because, ladies, REAL men drive manuals. Nuff said

  • @VladBlok28 haha! real men drive manual my arse!! I have an AMG which is an automatic and believe me I'm a real man lol...

  • @QBNZ hah ok, real man, explain to me then why do you feel the need to convince someone over youtube (who you don't even know) of your manliness? My comment struck a chord? :D The part where you asked me to believe you cracked me up hehe :)

  • @VladBlok28 Dude you just answered your own question with a question haha. Why are you trying to convince people that real men drive manuals... I guess you're a lady :pppppppppp

  • @QBNZ You are cute. I wasn't even that serious when i wrote that but i guess you are just too sensitive about the subject, real man. Don't worry i won't make fun of you anymore ;)

  • @VladBlok28 thanks again mr manual =D

  • nice first gear :)))

  • Def. 4 seconds flat, clocked it with a stop watch. Plus you start counting when the needle on the speedometer starts to move...

  • CHECK MY 60MPH VID ON MY WS6

  • 6sec omg

  • Defiantly a four sec run to 60, starts at .03 secs, then hits 60 at .07 secs.

  • @97Camaroowner its not doing 4 flat unless its modded. And I know its not a Z06

  • shit my f250 diesel will do it in 5.2....not that impressed

  • @silverf250bullet no it wont

  • @silverf250bullet Guys like you should eat shit!!!

  • 5 sec

  • You were at 0-65 mph, not 0-60 mph.

  • love how that sounded like an auto gearbox

  • @mrstormuk probs was

  • @mrstormuk It is one, I think.

  • i timed it on the ipad. 5 Flat. Still beast

  • Strange how the time on the video goes from 06 to 08. I never saw 07.

  • @Marc99GT oh shit your right, i just noticed that

  • @Marc99GT holy shit your right, wow hes editing

  • Autoooo gayyyyyyyyy jkk its still a vette hahh

  • boss 302 can do it in four flat, and i know for a fact that the 0-60 time in that car is in the 3 second range

  • more like 3.5 and ends at 8

  • That was more like 3.9!!!! If you watch the video, he revs the car first before the odometer even moved. Count from the time the needle jumps on the right. Do the math, don't critique the Vette...!

  • nice job is the car completely stock? I got a 2011 base coupe a few months ago but have not done any aftermarket yet

  • um that was closer to 5 secs flat

  • my mild tbss can do 0-60 in 5sec flat in any weather! lmao after this week it will be low 4s due to a 3200 stall converter! nice vette!

  • launch it pussy

  • GTFO euro trash

  • who the fuck buys an auto corvette?

  • @willymywonka ur mom now piss off cunt

  • @13slot28 you're even worse you drive a slow turbo supra. gtfo

  • @willymywonka not any more cause I was hit by a drunk driver. ass hole

  • @13slot28 glad he did lol, more of those need to be taken off the road

  • @willymywonka thats good Karma.. and 4 the record I am a muscle car guy.. I just had the Supra 4 MPG purposes

  • Comment removed

  • @willymywonka someone who dont wanna have gears

  • @TerryMMA85 then why buy a corvette? takes all the fun out of it

  • @willymywonka Actually three-fourths of corvettes bought today are automatics.

  • @TheCarVlogger Wow really? Is that saying 3/4ths of C6's bought are automatics?

Why the hell would you want an auto corvette?

  • @willymywonka Correct, when the c6 came out, the auto apocalypse began. Now I'm not sure if that number reflect z06 and zr1 sales as those are only available in a manual. I think the reason is the fact that the automatics became so good. They are very efficient, are just as quick as a manual(The dual clutches are actually quicker) and if you can't shift, then they are perfect for you. It's one less thing to worry about when driving and they are still a blast to drive.

  • @TheCarVlogger I've been around the block and I know the new auto's are very efficient. But their gearing sucks, and they usually come with a smaller ratio out back to, for good fuel mileage. If you can't shift then drive an auto civic.

  • @willymywonka I have an 08 automatic with the Z51 gearing and I think the gearing is pretty good for an auto. I've driven manuals my whole life. When I was looking for my vette it didn't matter to me whether it was an auto or manual. I ended up with an auto and am very happy with it. You think the gearing sucks, you're entitled to your opinion. Now for some facts....look up the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times comparisons for auto and manual 2008+ vettes, then tell me if the gearing still sucks

  • @ditttch I'm talking about more than just 0-60. From a highway roll the gearing sucks, and who would want to dive into a corner and have the auto change a gear? Doesn't sound like my kind of driving. Auto's aren't for sports cars.

  • @willymywonka There is a paddle shifter right on the steering wheel if you don't want the auto to handle the shifting when you're doing autocross, problem solved. The gearing from a highway roll is just fine too. My 6spd auto has the right gear if you want to roll from any speed. There is always a gear available at any given speed to get your right into the LS3's powerband. Autos are just fine in sports cars.

  • @ditttch Paddle shifters are boring as fuck. What happened to real driving with a clutch?

  • @willymywonka What ever happend to people minding their own business? If I want to spend $40k on a sports car with an automatic that is my business. If what I enjoy bothers you then you have problems. I own a 6spd auto vette and it is damn fast and fun to drive. I have no regrets about buying it. If you prefer manuals, fine, buy one. Apparently you're a bit insecure about those who don't agree with you...get over it, I like autos in sports cars.

  • @ditttch Easy there guy, you're the one poked his nose in responding to my comment. Quit getting all butt hurt because you bought the wrong corvette.

  • @ditttch coughpussy

  • @Bischlarbo69 Talking shit is so easy when you're on the other end of a computer in your mom's basement.

  • @damovieman69 Damn that's some funny shit. So glad that isn't the most over-used comeback on youtube just because you know you're a puss. Have fun with your automatic..............Dildo.

  • @Bischlarbo69 See what I mean? Keep going, your lack of testicles is becoming clear, and it's damn entertaining.

  • @damovieman69 Care to see them?

  • @Bischlarbo69 No thanks, but you may want to try Jerry Sandusky, I hear he's into little boys.

  • @ditttch that comment was directed at me dude, but you took the words right out of my mouth, so thanks

  • @ditttch You're right. Apart from that USA sells a lot more auto gearboxes than manual ones.

  • @DJUltraBlack Bottom line is to enjoy what you have. Auto or manual, it feels pretty good to have 430hp under the hood

  • @ditttch Absolutely, we got a vette GrandSport with auto gearbox too

  • @ditttch thats a sick fucking car. everyone who hates on that is just jealous :)

  • @ditttch While you're right in what you're saying, its always been like this. In the world of car enthusiasts there has always been immaturity. It actually probably reached its peak in the late 60s.

  • @ditttch oh, and nice run! :-)

  • @willymywonka

Whoever the fuck wants too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE FACT THAT its as fast if NOT FASTER than stick is proof enough. Get over yourself dude

  • @craigster1573 another butt hurt auto corvette driver.

  • @willymywonka another douche bag who thinks autos are bad for drag racing...ROFL.

  • @nyctoo I don't remember saying that.

  • @willymywonka

90% of corvette buyers opt for the automatic. If only the manual sales were counted the corvette would be in big trouble. I drive a manual, but have nothing against an auto driver... Most of them have wives who drive their vette as well. A corvette is awesome no matter the setup in my opinion.

  • @IrishChris1979 I have had my share of days driving a stick and when I bought my corvette I decided it was time to just enjoy the cruise without the hassle of gear shifting. I enjoy my automatic because its less I have to deal with and worry about with my baby.

  • Sry dude but this was like 6s :I

  • @aleksandarfriscic fuck no

  • That car wasn't even broken in yet. I saw 924 miles on the odometer. Awesome vehicle and I can't wait to get one.

  • THat engine sounds so sexy when it hits 4000 rpms

  • I cant stand 2 seater american cars or their "Muscle" cars. its almost a joke. Dont get me wrong they are good priced and have a little value but if you had the extra cash...go with Mercedes AMG or 7 Series BMW.

  • @DrGamble28 so you can have an overpriced pile of shit that can't make up it's mind whether it's a sports car or luxury car? i'll take my vette and wax you any day.

  • @cliffabrown Yes when I was a kid I loved my toys too. Lol my pile of shit that cant make up its mind if its a sports or luxury car? Your right...its both. Id probably have to agree! Its a 5 seat sport limo. I guess all my compliments on the road, people rolling down their windows to say its the most incredible car they have ever seen, the sound of a real engine ( not just cheap magnaflow exhaust to make it sound cute), world know S class freight train from hell...yea it sucks...

  • @DrGamble28 sorry, im not a yuppie that just likes to look cool, i actually enjoy going FAST.

I'll say it again: you think you're so cool in your expensive POS....UNTIL a vette (or skyline gt-r or porsche 911) comes along and walks the shit out of your slow luxury car that can only be sold at such a ridiculously high price because of its name.

i love seeing the look on yuppie's (like you) faces when i put bus-lengths on their AMG's that cost 5 times more than what i spent on my car.

  • @cliffabrown lol...POS s class Mercedes and 7 Series BMW. Im sure you have driven many of them...and I love how you compare S class Mercedes to Porsche, skylines (I hope that was a joke) and GTRs. You sure in the hell wont compare a E63 to your skyline or even a C63 to it would you? naahhhh. When you get a little older and get out of your rice rocket skyline years you will want a little different. I wonder why all these mega rich athletes, actors, doctors and lawyers choose the luxury cars.

  • @DrGamble28 i've driven a 456gt before, have you ever been IN a ferrari?

btw, skyline = GTR, and yes i would compare them in a heartbeat, and yes the skyline is still way faster in a straight line and around a track.

and to answer your question, they choose those cars because they want something luxurious TO GET DRIVEN AROUND IN by their chauffeurs.

  • @cliffabrown @cliffabrown lol the funny part is this whole back to back conversation got started by my simple polite comment. You had to fire back all but hurt and rude...of course looking at your profile now you are obviously biased. Im open to all cars, I even said they are a great value...however you seem to be a little to closed and shut in your rice rocket and dead american muscle cars. im not going to be replying anymore you have a way different taste in cars...you're prob not from CA

  • @DrGamble28 the start of your first post was "I cant stand 2 seater american cars or their "Muscle" cars. its almost a joke." don't even pretend like all you said about them was "they have good value."

i haven't been hurt in this conversation, i've just been wanting to make you have a moment of clarity to see how big of a yuppie douchebag you are. and in response to my taste in cars, i appreciate ANYTHING THAT'S FAST, not just luxurious 4 doors with powerful engines.

  • @cliffabrown hey buddy, the skyline isnt faster in a straitline or the track lol? both statements are false

  • @letmytechspit

What is this straitline you speak of? Fucking idiot.

  • @DrGamble28 I can't stand it when someone can't make a fair/true comparison. Value priced American "supercars" vs. flagship 4 door luxury land barges? Thats like a Dodge Ram over a Prius... Nothing wrong with those cars, they just belong in a list with something like a Cadillac CTS-V... Which was the fastest production sedan around the Nurburgring.

  • @Beldar4214 Nurburgring the racetrack? Look up the fastest production sedans in the world and tell me whos up there. Ok and if you want a fair comparison then go with a C63.

  • @DrGamble28 It's not a joke when a ZR1 with a V8 beats a Lambo with 2 more cylinders. Enjoy your overpriced piece of shit that you can't even use everyday

  • Nice! Thanks for posting. I just dyno tuned my 04' also!

  • panamera turbo is faster

  • @mammothborderDC i would rather have aids than a panamera..

    thing looks like ass

  • whenever a car goes this fast in automatic .....fuck the stick shift!!! XD

  • @coandcaiv hell no your gay! who cares if auto is just a little faster! auto takes the fun out of driving the corvette...

  • @coandcaiv whenever a car goes this fast in automatic.... its going downhill.

  • Hes on a dyno. What a Moron. You can hear the dyno disengage before he hits the gas.

  • @heatherandpaul2

    absolutely correct, lol

  • These cars came with a 2.73 axle ratio. Combine that with 6k+ rpm and really 45mph isn't that tall for 1st gear. My 4r70w in my Mercury has a taller first gear ratio and same 2.73 gear ratios, it shifts at 47 at about 5k rpm.

  • @Beldar4214 It depends. The base auto comes with 2.56 gears and the Z51 package adds 2.73 gears. 1st gear of the 6L80 auto is 4.027 which helps the autos run a 4.3 0-60 and low 12s @ 115+ mph.

  • longest first gear EVAR

  • lol almost 60mph in first gear WOWWWWWWWW lol

  • i got 3.90 in me stop watch :]

  • Auto. Boo.

Also, that engine hasn't worn in yet. It will get slightly faster when it's worn in around 5K.

  • With that said, I want an 08 C6 A6 because with headers, it will run high 11s all day. There are a few guys running low 12s bone stock with 2008+ C6 autos with videos on here and 11s with just headers.

  • almost inconceivably fast

  • that's three time faster than my car ----> lol

  • thats because hes still spinning the tires assholes. once they stop spinning the speedo goes down

  • I'm surprised they make Corvettes in automatic. The Viper has always been manual only, as is the Z06. I guess there are some people who don't know how to drive a manual, so the Corvette comes with an automatic transmission to increase sales, even though the automatic transmission loses more horsepower.

  • Funny thing is my uncle owns a chevy dealer and only 25% vettes sold in america each year are manual.. the rest are auto! hahaha.. it gives corvette a bad rep. It truly is the car to go to if you have money and want a 2 seater.. my girl freinds step dad has a c6 and he doesnt know shit about cars couldnt even tell me his vette had a v8.. he worships my dad cuse he has a c6 thats a stick! He doesnt even know how to drive a stick!

  • @timmunn1

When you come across Corvette owners who buy the car for the looks and the assumed prestige, specifically the one you mentioned who doesn't know how to drive a manual, you come across a potentially DANGEROUS driver. Corvettes are true performers, but can be very dangerous under the control of an inept driver. The torque that makes them fun can become dangerous if used without understanding. Thanks for your comment.

  • @Danger555 Epic.

  • its probably because the main target of the corvettes sails are old retired men who need something to make them feel young. haha i hope thats not too harsh, but i feel its completely true.

  • @branbai ive got to agree with that,

im 21 and own an 85 vette,

you cant even talk to have the guys with a vette because they either have no idea about cars or they are too stuck up

  • Automatic C6 Z51 vette is faster than stick 0-60 and 1/4 mile. 1st gear final ratio is much higher than stick even with the 2.71 rear end.

Also, if you are planning on going fast... 700+rwhp... you go auto. period.

  • @xcessivecc why, youll pay an arm and a leg at the dyno tuning and reprogramming your computer, not to mention the fortune youll pay to get that automatic beefed up,

when you could just have a manual t-56 borgwarner, no computer reprograming no transmissions exploding, just buy a better clutch

plus, you just cant match the feeling of shifting yourself

  • @deadfaithful well there are various reasons:

    1. If you have 700+ rwhp you are tuning the car already.

    2. It will shift faster than a human can

    3. In my case I have twin turbos so I don't have to let go of the gas when I shift. In other words, I don't lose boost through the blow off valve which inturn gives me an extra boost when the transmission engages the new gear.

  • @xcessivecc

    4. A car with alot of power gets very busy inside very quickly. Adding shifting to the equation, although more fun, is much more inconsistent.

    5. It's actually cheaper when you consider that my built 6l80 Rossler transmission cost me about 2400. A good clutch will be a bit cheaper but will have to be replaced much more often.

    6. Torque converters ftw.

    7. Transbrake. Ftmfw.

  • @xcessivecc

There are probably quite a few other reasons I forgot to mention but, speaking from experience, stick shift cars are nice for some applications but when you are talking real power, auto is the only way to go. If you don't believe me look into any top fuel drag car... All auto.

  • @xcessivecc

Now, as for your stock daily driven vette... You could have more fun in a stick, but most of the middle aged bald corvette owners just can't drive... I think auto is a good choice for them... What's funny is that, because of the gearing, they will likely still beat the stick guys from a dig... I find that really funny.

  • @xcessivecc the best thing and the worst thing about automatics is they downshift, with a manual you can engine brake and you can drop down a gear when you slide through a corner or when some guy thinks he stands a chance on the highway, i dont know how long your shifter was but i can slam through the gears pretty fast, and my friend has something he calls a V-gate shifter and all he does is push a knob froward and back while working the clutch, mostly though autos are expensive

  • @xcessivecc i forgot to say, i have seen both applications used in cars 1500+hp though and automatics can work but they are more difficult to work with i.e. you change the cam in your motor and you need a new torque converter too

  • @deadfaithful I agree with part of what you are saying. I have only drag raced with automatics(99 GT and 87 Grand National) and I had to remove the torque converter to have it adjusted. It is a pain, but after a while, the trans is out in 45 minutes and most companies do the first 2 adjustments for free. The main advantage was with rear gears and a higher stall more efficient converter, I never lost to a stick car with similar power.

  • That was a slow shift and i don't believe was in competition mode. I have been in an 08 LS3 C6 auto the in S and competition mode and it barked the tires on the 1-2 shift.

  • 4.6

  • Start the stopwatch when the MPH goes up. He launched it while on the brake, so that's why the RPMs went up before it moved. I got 4.1 and 4.14 on my stopwatch

  • @bigmax88 I think you're starting your stop watch a little early. I got 4.1 from the time the Speedometer moves, not when the RPMs move.

  • @wally2714 im starting when the rpms catch , as if the clutch has been released and the car is moving.

  • @bigmax88 There is no clutch. It is an automatic.

  • @wally2714 well then the rpms catch ,the "flash" i think,on the torque converter i dont know its to close to tell accurately from looking at a speedo anyway. but the car moves before the speedo on any car on the planet.

  • @bigmax88 What the guy is doing is holding on the brake, revving it to the closest he can get to the stock stall converter before the car moves and lets go of the brake. It is a very fast car nevertheless and I test drove an 05 yellow one and was in awe. How can such an awesome handling car (close to 1.0 lateral G) be so comfortable and easy to drive?! No wonder it's on C&D's ten best for however many years in a row it has been!

  • @bigmax88 doens't matter right ?!

  • @cmtegaravello nope, still faster than most idiots on here.

  • @bigmax88 Its 4 seconds flat, watch the needle go by, not by the sound that you hear!

  • lmao no it isnt. closer to 5 seconds. 4.9

  • @98tadriver watch the needle bro and the time count. It takes off at exactly 3 seconds and ends at 7 seconds

  • haha my s10 will do like 30mph in 7sec ur jealous

  • @alanack67 hahahaha gotta love slow cars =) I drive a lifted Wrangler so I know slowness

  • @jetskidude100 yeah my s10 and jeep cj5 are both pretty slow

  • Damn thing wasn't even broken in yet and were romping on it already that much?

  • @lemans405 Not a great idea

  • 4.6 sec

  • im counting 4 flat you start when the speedo moves not rpms

  • I agree. It is the A6(6L80) strong as hell and geared to rock. It's been documented to run stock 4.3 to 60. A CAI, exhaust and tune and sub 4s are easy. hell, a converter can drop it in the 3s.

  • That is an auto.

  • My stopwatch says 3.9. That's a fast car! Count when you see the speedo move, not the RPMs

  • Counting, I got around 4.3.

  • looks more like 5 sec to me

  • Hey, that's a nice demo of the C6. Thanks.
