most current game titles are 32bit so you only need a dual core and 4gb of ram and the better the graphics card the better it will perform. With a 6870 you will be able to play everything maxed at 60fps no problem.
Some reason when i right click ccc it says i'm using two 6550D's.........
I can't update the 6670 anymore.... When I try to update the normal 6550D (the one in the llano 3850) It turns into a sumo 9640 and I can't use dual graphics.. PLeASE HELP!!!
If price difference is not a factor, and your case can fit it then go for the 75v pro. (full atx) because with the 75M if you ever wanna do crossfire then the front headers get in the way of the second card which means you either fold them tightly or simply unplug them. In the other hand the 75V pro not only you have the headers available in crossfire more but you still have a PIC slot available as well.
It all depends on your motherboard, either way you'll have to boot up your bios and tweak the settings. The base for the A8-3850 is 100 mhz bus x 29 multiplier. For me it work at 105mhz bus x 35 multiplier. Make sure your ram can adjust to the frequencies and it's compatible as well. As well as you have to have sufficient cooling. Currently I have a Coolermaster Hyper X520 and cools my cpu at 10c idle and 40c full load.
and i knew that the hybrid crossfire would turn off but the reason why the pairing is because I bought the A8-3850 and a week later I got the 6870 for free.
Because you have installed a 6870 the A8-3850 is only running as a CPU and not a APU. As a CPU its equiliventto the AMD athlon ll x4. I know because I have the A8. If you planned on installing the 6870 before you built the rig you should have bought the phenom x6. And im not mocking you im simply trying to help.
Why build a Llano rig with the A8-3850 and install a 6870? You do relise you have ripped yourself off and bought an overpriced quad core! You do relise the Integrated graphics on the A8 shuts off if you install anything over the 6670! What a waste of money. Its would have been cheaper and wiser to put this in xfire with the 6670 and still achieve similiar performance. Sell the APU and the mobo and buy the phenom x6. Such a waste.
@MacRezzi
No, hybrid crossfire only works like this
AMD A-8 Series : AMD Radeon HD 6670,6570 & 6450
AMD A-6 Series : AMD Radeon HD 6570 & 6450
AMD A-4 Series : AMD Radeon HD 6450

Did you use the dual card technology?

Kind of funny that I'd rather play BC2 than BF3 purely because vehicles actually feel devestating where in BF3 they feel like mattel toys.

Yes, but i had to over clock the apu all the way to 4GHz to get 60fps with everything turned on.

can you play bf3 on that?

Pretty useless video considering you are using CPU that's intended to be used alone (without GPU) or with low-end GPU.
It makes no sense buying this CPU (APU) if you're going to use 6870.

Can you tell me how to overclock A8-3850? What is the base clock, multiplier and voltage? Thanks a lot!

that's not 1080p, 1920×1080 is 1080p, you only have 1680x1050, nice vid nonetheless

@83fcv nobody said this is full HD. actually, the uploader says it in the description that the video is @ 1650x1050
