Biggest.... Is the bigger the best?

Such biiiig organs, woth loooots of electronics, microprocessor, and so are out of service most of the time.

They cost loooots of money for simple maintenance (more that the cost of a full, really playing organ).

These churchs are so big that it is quite impossible to have a good rendering. You dont have only reverb but also echo.

So the music is a mess and you can find much smaller instruments, with less eye-candy features which play really nice music.

The Royal Albert Hall has 11000 pipes. But how to play this is what matters.Mostly thy are playing to fast and the results are not as it should be.

I like it when i can follow the sound and acoustic. Mostly that happens by slowly plying of an organ.

Actually St Eustache isn't the largest organ in France, it's outranked by St Sulpice and Notre Dame De Paris.

It actually is larger than NDdeP and St Sulpice (a bit more than 200 pipes bigger than Notre Dame)

Notre Dame: 153 Ranks: 7,800 Pipes

Saint Eustache: 146 Ranks: 8,000 Pipes

Saint Sulpice: 137 Ranks: 6,618 Pipes

Depending on how you look at it, Notre Dame OR Saint Eustache could be the biggest, but Saint Sulpice is smaller than other two... but BETTER all the same! :D

Its me filming, not playing. Saint Eustache is a fabulous church that feels so much more accessible than others in Paris. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city of light whose on a budget and doesn't necessarily want to pay to tour old churches.
