@Whispererinthenoise That's exactly how i felt; they didn't re-invent the wheel with this album, they just wrote another really good album. It's defiantly one that deserves multiple listens to take in the full effect of the songs. I thoroughly enjoyed the album, and have listened to it many many times since i got it!
Thanks for this great review....you're so right: this album just contains not one mediocre track! they're all really good, it'S a nice flowing record with so many different aspects of the chevelle-sound...! this cd hasn't left my cd-player for WEEKS now, i just can't get enough of it...it just combines all of their strengths: big riffs, great choruses which are not too poppy, depth, athmosphere, great lyrics.....I'm really into it, love it. :) greetings from germany...
Nice review !! .. Should review more .. Yaah ..Chevelle is one of the bands that keep Rock music alive without killing it .. They are keep getting heavier and heavier .. But stop comparing them wit TOOL !! Chevelle - Tool Totally different !!
@thilinav thank you man! I know a lot of people say they are different, but i do see a lot of similarity between the two bands. BUT there is also a lot that is different, i just think there is some connection. But hey, that's just my opinion. Glad you enjoyed it! I have other reviews up if your interested; just check my channel. Cheers man!
@moonlightprincess9 yes i am. I've just recently started up this youtube channel. Its about a month old i think? I also do podcasts, check out the info on this video and you can grab a link to them.
Great review man. I've listened to this album at least a dozen times now and it just keeps getting better every time. I agree, this album is all killer and no filler. I'd have to say that "The Meddler" is one of my favorites on there.
Why couldn't you mention the 2 song you were referring to about the lyrics?
My favorite song off of this album (at this point) is "RUSE"... awesome track! And, a Best Buy exclusive track I heard titled "Glimpse of the Con". Like you said, solid album trough and through. Thanks for the review... appreciate you taking the time.
@NovembersEnd the reason i never mention actual songs is because i don't want to influence anyone's opinion of the album, im simply reviewing it as a whole. Since music is all opinions, its open to each person's musical palate. That's why i don't mention songs.
@stillbornband1 because i think they are. Not everyone can like every band. That's impossible, by opinion on seether is that they are crap. I'm sure you think a band is crap, while someone loves them. It's the way it works ... no insult was intended man!
@axisofmetalpodcast: I have to admit, that as a long-time Seether fan, their latest stuff is pretty crap, and am disappointed by it. Their earlier stuff was good, solid rock, however. Also, in their pre-Seether days as "Saron Gas", they put out one of the best rock albums ever IMO. Check it out if you haven't. Saron Gas - Fragile.
@stillbornband1 Agreed! Seether is one of the best bands out there. They make my top favs, and so does Chevelle. It's agreeable that Seether's latest album was really soft when compared to their older albums and it didn't quite live up to people's expectations. But hell, in my opinion they only proved that they can be brilliant at ANY kind of music be it rock. alternative, or whatever. "Here and Now" was fuckin soulful and lyrically brilliant.
nice bro, really good. do more reviews, you do them good, you don't go so deep that your viewers get lost, but your not just like "good album" keep it up
That was a fantastic review. You pretty much summed up my exact thoughts about not only the album but the band as well. You come off as knowledgeable and passionate without sounding pretentious, a trap i often find reviewers falling into. Good work my friend. :)
