And that may not arrest and detain you unless you consent to it. And the first step to consenting to it, is giving your name and adress. Remember we are policed by consent. If you know you havnt caused harm or loss to anyone or their property, dont not give the police the time of day.

We are not policed by consent. The police do not require the consent of citizens in order to go about their duties. Like I said, we are governed by consent. If you want to test this principle, get drunk and stand outside a police station, refuse to go home and swear at the officer(s). You will likely be arrested under section 5 of the public order act, a piece of statutory law. Notice how the officer arrests you without requiring your consent at any stage.
