These are tips, I'm not trying to start any hate, as I'm just starting boxing myself, haha.
Once thing I noticed is that you cock your elbow when you throw your hook. What I was taught is that every punch should come from the face.
Around 2:50, you slip to the left, and what I noticed is that your whole body moves down and away. What this does is set you up for a massive uppercut against a skilled opponent. You only gotta move your head 4 or 5 inches away from the glove, or roll under it.
Great video, man! Keep it up. What's the durability like with that? I was thinking about getting one myself, but I've read a lot of complaints that the spring bends pretty easily.
@Soulgotha Actually its not an issue, it does bend alot but its not meant to be hitting it like a heavy bag. You have to gauge how hard you hit it. Its more intended for movement and working your heart rate.
i like your jab. Many people put their hands down right before and after they jab, while you keep it close to your face. Good job. Are you actually training any stand up sport ?
@hattrickhockey17 Cool. I also started boxing like 4 months ago, and the first thing coach told me is to keep the hand up all the time, even when striking/.
Good technique you have Chase. But I gotta ask one question, why you hearing a yellow t-shirt??? It makes you look 16,lol....j/p but I'm favoriting this video right now, good shit
The very technical aspects of boxing like pivoting and inside fighting isnt used in MMA practicaly at all and prob never will. On the inside they either go for a take down or use Muay Thai and pivoting requires foot positoion that can get your legs kicked in. Plus Boxing shoes help you move quickly in sudle movements inside. The shoulder to shoulder inside fighitng that creates wars in boxing like Chavez-Taylor and Gatti-Ward... you dont see that type of boxing in MMA. You only really see
Dont lean your head in when ya jab. lol. Only your fists and toe should move forward. Establishes distance. The right hand I always recomend a straight or a cross. If they duck your jab pivot your foot with your heel up, and throw uppercut , KNOCKOUT!!! When you throw the jab and miss, stick jab out there for about half a second longer to anticipate their counter and have distance on them, release it coming back. Now im getting out of hand haha. Good job man
Yea the thing with straight punches is they come out a lot quicker so you expose yourself a lot less, tan with hooks and overhand punches...not that those are bad or anything but they are best used every once in a while to try to catch your opponent off guard or if someone is a lot taller than you. But yeah its cool man, hope to see more vids
@Starjet4 I have been at the Gym, still having issues with it and I actually paid for it the other night lol. Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!

@hattrickhockey17 Yeah, I was thinking that the people complaining were just going too hard on it. Thanks, man.

definitely great for eye hand coordination. is there any adjustments on it to control the sway more if you wanted?
xkillaz18x 1 year ago
@xkillaz18x Unfortunately not, you kind of have to gauge how hard you throw punches.

That bag has way too much sway. I think you should have a partner hold it still for you, or figure out away to reduce the movement.

Nice, try to work more on the basic jab cross and left hook, those are more effective than overhand rights.
